Dying Light PC Patch Restricts Ability to Mod the Game
A new Dying Light patch for PC appears to be restricting the ability to mod the game.
Patch notes for update 1.2.1 reveal that while the fix may be designed to prevent anyone cheating by changing the game's data files, it seems mods are being caught in the crossfire.
Several popular mods are encountering problems, including one which deactivated the film grain used on the game's camera. Interestingly, this was removed following an anti-piracy claim made by the Electronic Software Association via the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DCMA).
It's unclear quite what's going on here, and whether Warner Bros. or Techland are behind the move. Techland's Dead Island was always very mod-friendly, so it'd be quite an about-face if the studio has decided to take action now.

It's also apparently rethinking its previous comments regarding beta testing for all future content updates, as this now may not happen.

The simulation not only called the final score but it also closely foresaw a number of plays and stats that played out in today’s game.
