Walking Dead Town For Sale
Calling all wealthy - and possibly eccentric - fans of The Walking Dead: you can now own a part of the town where some of the series was filmed.
A series of buildings in downtown Grantville, Georgia, are now for sale on eBay with a starting bid of $680,000.
You can see the stretch of the buildings in the Walking Dead Season 3 episode 'Clear', where Rick Grimes returns to his home town. Former mayor Jim Sells (who is also a regular poster on the town's entertaining Walking Dead Facebook page) told ABC News that Grantville can also be seen in the feature films Lawless, The War Dumb and Dumber To.
The Making of the Power/Rangers Fan Film
Producer Adi Shankar has just dropped a behind-the-scenes look at the making of his controversial Power/Rangers fan film.
The short making-of video follows the team as they scout locations, film stunts, and edit footage. You can check out the film below:
Shankar's original Power/Rangers short takes the dark and gritty mania as far as it can go, rebooting the '90s series with graphic violence and adult themes.
The unauthorized film quickly kicked up controversy last week after copyright complaints temporarily led YouTube and Vimeo to pull the short film. It has now been restored to the streaming services. Watch our Rewind Theater on the short below:
Going to PAX East This Weekend? Here’s What You Need to Know
PAX East will be underway beginning Friday, March 6 in Boston, and if you're going to the event, there are a few things you should know beforehand.
First off, if you're traveling in from sunny California or any other part of the world with sunny weather and comfortable temperatures, the forecast for Boston calls for temps just below 27 degrees Farenheit/-3 degrees Celsius on Friday, rising to a downright balmy 43F/6C by convention's end on Sunday.
If you aren't already living somewhere that has suffered under the crushing weight of winter, know that while you may spot Bostonians sporting shorts and praising the wicked-nice weather, you would do well to pack a jacket, hat, and gloves. Footwear will also be important, as the literal feet of snow will be rapidly melting in the relatively warmer temps. You definitely don't want to spend your day seeing the sights of PAX East in wet shoes.
Behold Fifty Shades of Batman
What if Christian Bale were Christian Grey? Many have already noticed the similarities between tortured billionaire with a dark secret Bruce Wayne and the BDSM-loving protagonist of Fifty Shades of Grey, another tortured billionaire with a dark secret.
This new mashup parody video "Fifty Shades of Wayne" shows what Fifty Shades of Grey would have been like with Batman as its male lead instead:
Hmmm, come to think of it ...
Harmonix Announces Team Multiplayer for Amplitude
Harmonix's upcoming Amplitude reboot will feature a team multiplayer mode, the studio announced today.
Team play will allow players to face off in either 2v2 or 3v1 matches, according to the PlayStation Blog.
The multiplayer mode came to be when Amplitude's creative lead, Ryan Lesser, asked the development team how matches between experienced and inexperienced players will be balanced. Creating team play allowed the studio to achieve this balance without changing the gameplay itself.
Harmonix hopes team play will make Amplitude an enjoyable experience in both party and competitive settings. "Time will tell, but we have a couple of months to really suss it out, playtest the crap out of it, and get some great feedback from fans," Lesser said.
GameStop Will Once Again Accept Your PS2
If you have a PlayStation 2 kicking around your house, you can once again turn it into credit at GameStop.
As of Sunday, March 1, GameStop opened its arms to receive your PS2 in exchange for a $25 in-store credit. If the system has a power cord, an A/V cable, and a controller, you can bring it to your local store and then turn around and use the credit to spend as you see fit.
If you have just the console without any accessories, GameStop will still give you $20 in credit, which seems like a better deal, since DualShock 2 controllers are selling on eBay at anywhere from $5 to $20 USD.
GameStop confirmed the news with us earlier, but didn't tell us why the sudden re-interest in the best-selling video game console of all time. Still, $25 is $25, and if you aren't using your PS2 anyway, why not get rid of it? There hasn't been a game released for the system since Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 came out in September of 2013. Seems like a whole different age, doesn't it?

These Glasses Foil Facial Recognition Software
Facial recognition software is growing both in use and sophistication, which is why security firm AVG has revealed what it refers to as "invisibility glasses."
Utilizing infrared and retro-reflective technology, the glasses are designed to create interference in photographs, interference that reduces the effectiveness of image recognition software.
AVG points to three concerns for privacy. One, an increasing use of smartphone cameras means it's more likely "unsolicited images taken of us may end up online," worries over "Big Data projects such as Google's StreetView," and Facebook's "DeepFace," which AVG warns could give private corporations the ability to "not only recognize us, but also cross-reference our faces" against other online data.
Rumor: Drew Goddard to Write & Direct Next Spidey
Marvel's Spider-Man reboot may have found its director in Cabin in the Woods' Drew Goddard.
According to Latino-Review, Goddard has been tapped to write and direct the latest Spidey incarnation. Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige will produce the film along with Amy Pascal at Sony "in what is envisioned as a three part series to come out over consecutive summers." The series might also be called "Spectacular Spider-Man" after another Marvel comics series.
"So the thinking at the moment is that Sony will faze out all the Spidey Verse films they were developing. Yes even the Aunt May film (that was real!) and focus on a story involving Spidey versus the Sinister Six," the site claims. "At one point they were developing a film that was just going to be a spinoff called THE SINISTER SIX. That’s scrapped but the big news is that the director of that film, Drew Goddard, will write AND direct the Spectacular Spider Man movie."
