HBO Go App Out Today on PS4

The HBO Go app will be available on PlayStation 4 later today.

The PlayStation 4 app will function "just like" the PlayStation 3 version, according to Sony. Upon signing in, you'll be required to authenticate your console with your cable/satellite provider through HBO Go's website.

Once your PlayStation 4 has been authenticated, you'll be able to watch any episode from any HBO series, including Game of Thrones, True Detective, and Girls.

The HBO Go app came to Xbox One late last year. HBO plans on releasing a standalone version of its streaming service before Game of Thrones' Season 5 debut on April 12.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD: Midseason Premiere Photo Preview

When we last saw Director Coulson and his team, they were at war with Hydra. That hasn't changed. In "Aftershocks," they must continue to deal with the consequences of that battle. And Hydra makes a move that might mean there's a traitor in SHIELD. Again.

But, there is a change the team has to face. Skye was exposed to and affected by Terrigen Mist in the midseason finale. She's learning who she truly is, and her Inhuman abilities are bound to shake up SHIELD. See a preview of the midseason premiere in the below gallery.

SteamWorld Heist: Bustin’ Up Robot Bases in Space

Five minutes into a demo of SteamWorld Heist, and it’s difficult not to notice just how wildly different it feels from its predecessor. The first game, called SteamWorld Dig: A Fistful of Dirt, wove together ideas from arcade classics like Dig-Dug and Metroid. SteamWorld Heist keeps the Wild West aesthetic and tosses gameplay of the first game clear from the stagecoach to give us something different. It’s a turn-based strategy game that’s coming to all current-gen platforms (3DS, PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, PSVita, Wii U, and Xbox one) this year starting in August.

Set a few hundred years in the future, you take control of a robot squad. CEO of developer Image & Form Brjann Sigurgeirsson tells me some bad stuff happened between the events of SteamWorld Dig and Heist that forces the Steambots into space. During the adventure, you’ll recruit other bots to join your squad mid-mission or inside intergalactic saloons. You’ll develop a team and choose between multiple classes, each with specific weapons and abilities.

Firewatch: Comedy, Drama, and Trust Issues

IGN First this month explores a small number of exceptional upcoming games, and we’re debuting with a deep look at Campo Santo’s unique and beautiful Firewatch. After revealing the premise of Firewatch a year ago, and exploring its promise at PAX later in 2014, Campo Santo is finally realizing its vision.

The first-person adventure game is about exploration, both when it comes to the beautiful Wyoming wilderness and its troubled protagonists’ personalities — and it’s one of the most intelligent, interesting games I’ve seen.

Ubisoft Is Making a Game That You Need a Doctor’s Prescription to Play

Ubisoft is developing a game you’ll never be able to play without a doctor’s prescription.

It’s called Dig Rush, and by using a pair of old-school, tinted 3D glasses, it may help treat Amblyopia, a sight disorder that affects 3% of the earth’s population. People with the condition often have a “lazy eye,” but it can take another form where one eye is simply much weaker than the other.

Here’s how the game works.

Using a doctor prescribed tablet and the aforementioned pair of specs, the player steers miners through dangerous caverns in pursuit of treasures. Because the game is mostly black and white, and only the characters, enemies, and objects are colored, you need to use both eyes together to see.
