Four Sided Fantasy Coming to Major Platforms in 2016

Puzzle-platformer Four Sided Fantasy is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Vita, courtesy of Curve Digital. The UK publisher hopes to release those versions simultaneously with the already announced PC edition in the first quarter of 2016.

At its core, Four Sided Fantasy is based around a "screenwrap" mechanic. As per arcade classic Pac-Man, players can exit on one side of the screen and re-enter on the other side. The feature can be toggled on and off as required to solve the game's perspective-challenging puzzles.

The game is the creation of Ludo Land, a Seattle-based studio formed by Logan Fieth in 2013. Fieth worked on experimental first-person puzzle game Perspective before leading the design on The Fourth Wall, the game Four Sided Fantasy is a spiritual successor to. Ludo Land successfully Kickstarted Four Sided Fantasy last year, raising $37,912 USD in funding.

Remote-controlled Cockroaches Could Save Your Life

An intrusion of cyborg cockroaches may hold the key for surveying damaged nuclear power plants or collapsed mines.

The cockroaches in question are fitted with a tiny electrode capable of stimulating the nerves in the insect’s antennae. By controlling the antennae, scientists can then steer the roaches around like remote-controlled cars, allowing them to pilot the roaches into areas unfit for the human body.

According to Hong Liang, a materials scientist at Texas A&M University and author of the study published in the Journal of the Royal Society Interface, the remote cybugs can "go anywhere you guide them to," which includes disaster zones. Should a mineshaft collapse and the rescue team wants to know what they’re up against, and how many people are trapped inside, cyborg bugs could be the answer.

7 Writers Who Should Take Over X-Men

If any one writer has been steering the course of the X-Men franchise in the last few years, it's Brian Michael Bendis. Bendis built from the fallout of stories like Schism and Avengers vs. X-Men, exploring a world where new mutants are once again emerging and where the two X-Men schools are more divided than ever. He introduced significant new wrinkles by bringing the original five X-Men forward in time and then breaking the Marvel timestream beyond any hope of repair.

Bendis' saga is coming to an end this May when he caps off both his All-New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men storylines in the pages of Uncanny X-Men #600. Most of Marvel's current X-Men books will end alongside that big finale. And while we know Marvel has several X-Men-themed Secret Wars tie-ins planned (including Old Man Logan, Inferno, and X-Tinction Agenda), the ongoing future of the X-Men franchise is very unclear at the moment.

Sony has announced a limited edition PlayStation 4 console will be released to celebrate Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in Asia.

Though there's no indication the bundle will come west, it's a pretty spectacular looking creation. Made in collaboration with Konami, the console is coloured the same way as Snake's red Bionic Arm, while its golden connector has been similarly reimagined. The accompanying DualShock 4, meanwhile, is the colour of Snake's right-hand gun and bears his unit logo.

Other recent themed limited-edition PS4 consoles released by the company include the 20th Anniversary Edition, two variants of The Evil Within (known as Psycho Break in Japan), Destiny, The Last of Us: RemasteredFrozen, two different Bloodborne versions and more.
