Tim Burton to Reportedly Direct Live-Action Dumbo
Disney is teaming up with Alice in Wonderland director Tim Burton to bring us a live-action Dumbo.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the film will be a mixture of live-action and CGI. While details of the project are still scarce, Walt Disney president of production Sean Bailey hinted that the film will be broader than the 1943 cartoon. "It's a big world," he said.
Screenwriter Ehren Kruger (Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Transformers: Age of Extinction) is penning the script and will produce along with Justin Springer (Tron: Legacy).

The Fall Picked Up for Season 3

*slight spoilers* And yes - per Deadline - despite how things looked at the end of Season 2, both Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan will be returning in the roles of Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson and psycho killer Paul Spector.
Gamers Have Spent 12,000 Years in The Sims 4
Electronic Arts has released a new infographic featuring fun facts on its series The Sims.
According to the EA blog post, Sims players have created over 32 million Sims since the September 2014 launch of The Sims 4, with 107 million hours of gameplay - that's 12,000 years - racked up.
Cheekily, the infographic also suggests that Sim characters may have it better than those of us in the real world: apparently Sims engage in "woohoo" four times as much as real-life married couples, and there are far fewer Sim divorcees in comparison to reality as well.

Netflix Plays House of Cards on an NES
What if you could watch House of Cards on an original NES? Are you a bad enough dude to rescue President Underwood? A team of Netflix engineers recently decided to find out during the company's annual Netflix Hack Day, managing to get the streaming service running on a supposedly un-modded NES.
According to the video, the NES contains a cart and the two engineers side-scroll through the list of titles, including House of Cards and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Near the end of the bit, the opening of House of Cards runs in a beautifully pixelated smattering of blue and grey.
Ascension Not Going to Series at Syfy
If you were hoping for resolution to Ascension's cliffhanger, prepare to be disappointed. Syfy has decided it will not move forward with a full series.
“We were very happy with Ascension as an event series, but with so much high profile development in the works, we have decided not to pursue a full series,” said Syfy executives in a statement to Deadline.
Ascension, advertised as a classic space opera, premiered on Syfy last year bringing in 1.8 million viewers. As the network did with Battlestar Galactica before it, Syfy hoped to turn the miniseries into a regular series.

Secret Service Training in Defense Against Drones
We live in a time when unmanned aerial vehicles are everywhere. In fact, drones are so prominent these days you can even register the area around your home as a no-fly zone. And while sensitive regions in Washington, D.C. are clearly off-limits, it hasn't stopped some recent drone activity in the nation's capital.
According to the Associated Press, that's precisely why the Secret Service is now flying their own drones around D.C. in an attempt to train themselves to disrupt the potential security threat. Over the "next several weeks," government drones will fly over Washington between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. to conduct the training.
