Dwayne Johnson Is Sure His Black Adam Will Fight Superman
Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson is certain that we’ll see his mystical DC villain duke it out against Superman – he just doesn't know who'll be playing the Man of Steel by that time.
During an interview with Total Film, the 49-year-old Black Adam star suggested that his fight against Superman is only a matter of time.
“There’s a battle that’s going to go down one day, between Black Adam and Superman,” he explained. “I don’t know who that Superman is going to be, and I don’t know who’s going to play him. That’s OK. I don’t need to know right now. But I’m confident in knowing that. And that’s based out of what fans want. We worked backwards from there.”
Originally set to appear in DC’s Shazam, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam eventually became the focus of his own solo movie – one that will reportedly feature a very high kill count. So, perhaps we shouldn’t expect a fair fight when it comes to taking on the Man of Steel.
Our first look at Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam movie was recently unveiled during DC Fan Dome 2021 – featuring a soldier being choked, before being turned to ash by lightning and meeting a rather grizzly end.
But while other DC movies rushed towards the finish line, Johnson says Black Adam takes a slightly different approach.
“You get one shot out of the gates to build these characters properly,” says Johnson. “We paid attention to some of the pitfalls that other films had experienced in the past, in the world of DC, and what, rightfully, got a lot of fans unhappy and pissed – and, as a fan, I was one of them.”
Although DC has faced some criticism in the past for rushing towards the Justice League before building out its individual characters, Johnson assures the fans that this time, it’s all about respecting the fans.
“Let’s make sure we respect tradition and mythology,” he said. “But let’s not be handcuffed creatively. We can do anything if we keep the audience first.”
Originally intended to be a Shazam! villain before the movie was split in two, Black Adam will now take on the Justice Society of America in his very own origin story.
Black Adam will debut on theaters on July 29, 2022.

Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Next Expansion Delayed Just a Week Before Release
Star Wars: The Old Republic's next expansion, Legacy of the Sith has been delayed just a week before it was set to launch.
As confirmed by the game's project director Keith Kanneg in an update post, Legacy of the Sith has now been delayed until February 15, 2022. The announcement comes despite the fact that the game's expansion had been previously set to launch on December 14.
"Like many of you reading this, I personally cannot wait for the launch of our next expansion," explained Kanneg after confirming the delay. "I've greatly enjoyed my time exploring the depths of Manaan, testing out new story and ability combinations with Combat Styles, and more during internal playtests."
"Legacy of the Sith is something the team has been hard at work on for quite a while but as we get ever closer to launch, it is clear that we need a bit more time. We’re focusing additional testing on the many areas we have changed throughout the game to deliver the experience we want, and one that you deserve."
Elsewhere in the post, Kanneg explained that the majority of the expansion's non-story content and features will be returning to the game's public test servers for subscribers later this week. However, the delay will still likely come as a disappointment to fans given that the expansion's previous release date was only initially confirmed last month.
Legacy of the Sith was initially revealed earlier this year. During the announcement, BioWare confirmed that the expansion would continue the story of The Old Republic, as players seek to hunt down Darth Malagus while exploring a variety of new planets. The expansion is also set to release with a range of new enhancements to the game, including new combat styles, which will "expand player options" and a number of new quality of life upgrades.
While EA's has stated that it has plans to continue to work with Lucasfilm Games on further projects in the Star Wars universe for years to come, other companies have recently stepped up their plans to work on titles stemming from the franchise. Earlier this year, Ubisoft announced that it is working on a story-driven, open-world Star Wars game while rumours have also surfaced linking Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dream to its own Star Wars project.

You Can’t Preload Halo Infinite’s Campaign, But It’ll Be a Shorter Download If You Already Have Multiplayer
343 Industries has revealed that fans won't be able to preload the Halo Infinite's campaign ahead of its release today. While the announcement is likely to disappoint those hoping to delve into the campaign as soon as possible, the studio has stated that players who've already downloaded the game's multiplayer beta will find that their overall download time for the game is significantly reduced.
News of the announcement was shared on Twitter where Halo Support confirmed that players who have pre-installed the beta will have a far shorter wait in order to fully install the game. While the account does note that download sizes may vary depending on the platform players are using, a rough guide can be found in the tweet below.
When the #HaloInfinite Campaign launches tomorrow at 10am PT, players who have downloaded the Multiplayer Beta will have a smaller download size. While download sizes may vary by platform, this guide will give you an idea of what to expect tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/Tg3SzFvlhl
— Halo Support (@HaloSupport) December 8, 2021
As can be seen in the guide, the download size for Halo Infinite is just shy of 50GB when downloading the game from scratch, while it weighs in at around 30GB for those who already have the multiplayer beta installed. The difference here comes from Halo Infinite's multiplayer, which weighs in at 26.53GB for those without the beta and a mere 3.97GB for those with it.
Despite the file size difference largely resulting from the game's multiplayer, players hoping to jump into the campaign won't be able to do so until they have fully downloaded the game. Therefore, if you haven't already downloaded the beta at this point, it may be worth doing so earlier today just to save time when installation goes live.
It's not long until the Campaign becomes available, with the download unlocking globally at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK (that's 5am tomorrow, AEDT).
Halo Infinite's campaign has already picked up praise from reviewers across the internet. In our own review, we awarded the game's single-player mode a 9/10 stating that it "features Halo’s best implementation of boss fights yet" and that it has "absolutely brought Halo’s single-player campaign back into contention as one of the finest out there."
In the build-up to the campaign's release, reports surfaced that the game was set to break years of tradition by not allowing players to replay the game's story missions in the campaign without jumping into a new save file. While this may be the case at present, 343 has since confirmed that a feature to allow players to replay the game's campaign missions is currently in the works and will be available at some point post-launch.

Hawkeye Episode 4 Connects to an MCU Movie’s Post-Credits Scene
Hawkeye hasn't been shy with connecting the show to the MCU's past, but Episode 4 goes a step further, directly connecting it to the post-credits scene from a previous movie by introducing a new character.
This article contains spoilers for Hawkeye Episode 4, 'Partners, Am I Right?' If you haven't seen the episode, turn back now!
In the episode's climactic fight scene, a masked figure reveals themselves to be Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, the sister of Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow.
The last time we saw Yelena was in the post-credits scene of the Black Widow movie. She was visiting Natasha's grave, before meeting Julia Louis-Dreyfuss' Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who asks her if she wants "a shot at the man responsible for your sister's death," before handing her a photograph of Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton (which, as those who have watched Avengers: Endgame know, is not really the truth of the matter).
In an episode that features several moments of Barton struggling to come to terms with Natasha's death, the introduction of Yelena feels as though things are about to become harder for Clint before they get easier.
Despite expecting Yelena to appear at some point, many may have been waiting for a very different cameo to pop up in this episode. Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin has been rumoured to appear, and this episode featured multiple veiled references to someone at the top of a criminal organisation – someone referred to as "the big guy". However, we'll be waiting at least another week for that potential reintroduction.
Yelena's reappearance marks the first major crossover between MCU Phase 4 projects, but we'll be hoping it also makes the first connections with some of the MCU's older Netflix shows too. After all, we now know that Charlie Cox will one day return as Daredevil, too.

Fortnite Is Officially Moving to Unreal Engine 5
As part of the start of Fortnite Chapter 3, Epic Games has announced that Fortnite development has shifted to Unreal Engine 5, the latest version of the company's graphic technology.
Last year, after the gorgeous Unreal Engine 5 tech demo, Epic Games founder and CEO Tim Sweeney said Fortnite would make the shift to Unreal Engine 5 in mid-2021, adding that the new version is meant “to do things that are absolutely not possible today.”
With the arrival of Chapter 3, @FortniteGame development has flipped to Unreal Engine 5.
— Unreal Engine (@UnrealEngine) December 7, 2021
We're excited to share this journey with you and are working to make this the best experience possible for the entire Fortnite community.
Earlier this year, Unreal Engine 5 was officially released in Early Access, letting game devs test out the new tools and features in the next-gen engine. More Unreal Engine 5 tech demos and projects are already starting to crop up.
Major studios like Gears of War team The Coalition have begun developing on the new engine and showed off a stunning Unreal Engine 5 tech demo; giving a glimpse to what could be the future of the Gears series on Xbox Series X. And, just this last week, a Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 experience leaked on PSN before being officially announced.
But, Fortnite is taking it a step further than these other projects, shifting all development to Unreal Engine 5, pushing the engine beyond tech demos. When it's fully released, Unreal Engine 5 will support current- and next-gen consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.
Fortnite Chapter 2 wrapped up earlier this week and was swiftly replaced by Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1, which comes with a different island map, new gameplay, and a new Battle Pass featuring Spider-Man. Reactions to the changes are already positive, and many fans are specifically praising how good Spider-Man's web-slinging is in Fortnite.
