Halo TV Series: First Trailer Gives Us An Up Close Look At Live-Action Master Chief

The first trailer for the Halo TV series coming to Paramount+ has been revealed, and it includes Master Chief punching the ground. Okay, the new trailer shown at The Game Awards 2021 included a handful of other shots as well, but we're all here for live-action Master Chief, right?

You can take a look at the trailer via the slideshow just below.

One way or another, it's been a very, very long wait, but we'll finally see the Halo series in 2022. After many previous attempts – from a Neill Blomkamp project that never came about to a disappointing Ridley Scott-produced spin-off – we finally got word of a full-on Halo TV series in 2018.

Much of the cast has already been revealed, and we've seen tiny peeks at teasers in recent weeks. The show will lose both of its showrunners after Season 1.

The Halo TV series will debut on Paramount+ in 2022.

A Plague Tale: Requiem Gets Brand New Trailer

Asobo Studio brought a new trailer for A Plague Tale: Requiem to The Game Awards. The new footage reintroduced us to heroes Amicia and Hugo, as well as giving as a glimpse at the new journey they are embarking on.

The trailer shows the main character sailing on a ship, traversing through a burned down town, running through a lush field, and, of course, rats. Lots of rats.

The official description for the game says that Amicia and Hugo embark on a journey south after escaping their homeland. The characters will use a variety of tools and supernatural powers in their struggle for survival.

A Plague Tale: Requiem was first announced at E3 2021 earlier this year. The game is set to release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch (via a Cloud Version) sometime next year.

In our A Plague Tale: Innocence review, we called the original "good", saying, "A Plague Tale does an admirable job of making its young protagonists appropriately vulnerable to the surrounding dangers as you move through them from a third-person perspective, but the stealth gameplay and puzzles rarely feel imaginative."

Rumbleverse is a New Brawler Take on Battle Royale

Iron Galaxy and Epic Games have announced Rumbleverse, a free-to-play “Brawler Royale” in which 40 players drop into a map and duke it out in melee brawls.

Revealed as part of The Game Awards 2021, Rumbleverse starts with you being launched out of a cannon and into Grapital City. There, you can jump across skyscraper rooftops to discover crates containing weapons, upgrades, new moves, and perks. These can all be then used to fight for glory.

“We wanted to build a big, hilarious playground where spectacular things are always happening,” says Iron Galaxy Co-CEO Adam Boyes. “Rumbleverse combines our love for melee combat with the teamwork and player expression that have made games such a crucial source of human interaction."

A first look at Rumbleverse gameplay will be held on December 10 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Only a select number of players will be able to play, so if you want to duke it out in a few matches then you can sign up at the Rumbleverse website.

Early access for Rumbleverse will open on February 8, 2022 on PC via the Epic Games Store, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. Full crossplay and cross-progression support will be available.

Star Trek: Resurgence Is a Post-TNG Game Made by Telltale Veterans

Dramatic Labs has announced Star Trek: Resurgence, an new official Star Trek video game made in collaboration with ViacomCBS. The third-person narrative adventure game is made by a team that includes over 20 former Telltale staff, and will launch on PC and consoles in 2022.

Announced at The Game Awards 2021, Star Trek: Resurgence is an original story set shortly after Star Trek: The Next Generation, and follows the crew of the U.S.S. Resolute. Two of the crew are playable characters: First Officer Jara Rydek and Carter Diaz of the engineering team. Together, they will unravel a mystery involving two alien civilizations on the brink of war. On that journey, they’ll meet returning characters from the Star Trek universe as well as new ones created for the game.

“As fans of Star Trek, it’s truly an honor to be crafting a story which puts players right in the heart of the action, where significant choices and decisions will affect the entire narrative,” said Kevin Bruner, Founder of Dramatic Labs. “Built from the ground up using Epic’s Unreal engine and our proprietary narrative engine, this game showcases our team’s evolution in creating thought-provoking story-rich adventures.”

Bruner is joined by a number of ex-Telltale staff who worked on the likes of The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and Batman. That includes Andrew Grant, former Lead Writer and Creative Director at Telltale; Dan Martin, former Lead Writer at Telltale; Kent Mudle, former Cinematic Director and Creative Director at Telltale; and Brett Tosti, former Executive Producer and Creative Director at Telltale.

With that Telltale blood, it's no surprise that Star Trek: Resurgence will feature dialogue and conversations as a core part of its gameplay, but action sequences are also promised.
