Henry Cavill Would ‘Love To Have a Conversation’ About the Mass Effect TV Series
Henry Cavill says he would love to be a part of the rumored Mass Effect TV series.
Speaking to GamesRadar, Cavill said his interest in the project depends on how closely the adaptation stays true to the original games.
"Very much so, yeah, all depending on how they’re executing it," Cavill said when asked about his interest in the series. "The world of adaptation can be heavy or light. When I like a product, I prefer the adaptation to be less changed from the source, so it all depends." The actor added that if the Mass Effect series officially finds a home, he would "love to have a conversation."
Last month, reports came out saying Amazon was nearing a deal with EA to create a Mass Effect adaptation. There are no story details as of yet, so it's unclear if this project would be an adaptation of the games, or an original story set in the Mass Effect universe.
Back in February, Cavill may have even teased the existence of a Mass Effect project, where he posted a photo on Instagram of himself holding a bunch of blurred-out papers. IGN unblurred the image to reveal that Cavill was holding papers with text directly from Mass Effect 3's Wikipedia page.
Many Mass Effect fans are probably happy to hear that Cavill, who is a known video game fan, would love to see a show stay true to the source material. He's a self-proclaimed Mass Effect fan, saying in the same interview that he loves the original trilogy, but never got around to finishing Andromeda.
Cavill is also known for starring in Netflix's The Witcher, another video game adaptation. After the recent launch of The Witcher season 2, Cavill said he is, "absolutely" committed to the show's seven-season plan. In fact, Cavill is still enjoying the source material, saying he plans to play The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion this Christmas break.
The actor also recently told IGN he'd love to star in a Warhammer TV show or movie, should a live-action project ever happen.

Keanu Reeves Says He Never Played Cyberpunk 2077 Despite CD Projekt’s Earlier Claims
Cyberpunk 2077 star Keanu Reeves says he's never actually played Cyberpunk, despite previous confirmation from CD Projekt itself that he loved playing the game.
During an interview with The Verge for The Matrix Awakens, Reeves was asked if he played video games at all. He responded that he did not. When asked about Cyberpunk, Reeves said, "no, I mean I've seen demonstrations, but I've never played it."
Last year, during a CD Projekt earnings call, CD Projekt President and Joint CEO Adam Kiciński said Reeves had been playing Cyberpunk 2077. According to a transcript of the meeting from Seeking Alpha, Kiciński said Reeves, "played the game and he loves it."
Reeves stars in Cyberpunk 2077 as Johnny Silverhand, who is with the main character for most of the story. The actor was a big part of the promotion for the game, including his on-stage appearance at E3 2019.
Of course, after the unprecedented amount of hype, Cyberpunk had a disastrous launch, and CD Projekt is still working to fix the game, recently announcing that all Cyberpunk 2077 updates are delayed to 2022. There are also lawsuits against CD Projekt from the studio's investors, who are upset about the misleading promises about Cyberpunk 2077's quality. CD Projekt has also promised to be more careful about hyping its games ahead of release.
IGN has reached out to CDPR for comment on this story, and we'll update this article when we hear back.
The Matrix Awakens is a new Unreal Engine 5 experience revealed by Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss last week at The Game Awards. It's a first look at what Unreal Engine 5 can pull off on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S through a gameplay demo that takes place in the world of The Matrix. In our impressions of The Matrix Awakens experience, we said, "the technology on display is truly impressive."
In the same interview, Reeves said he thinks "it's nice" that people tried to mod Cyberpunk 2077 so they could have sex with his character.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore Trailer Features a Lot of Hogwarts
Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which is coming to theaters on April 15, 2022. The trailer gives a look at Mads Mikkelsen's Grindelwald, as well as returning characters, including Newt Scamander, Jacob, Dumbledore, and more. The new footage also seems to confirm that much of Fantastic Beasts 3 will take place at Hogwarts. You can watch the full trailer below.
The trailer shows Jude Law's Albus Dumbledore seemingly recruiting a team to take down Grindelwald. We also get a brief glimpse of a duel between Ezra Miller's Credence and Dumbledore, as well as some adorable creatures the series is known for.
Secrets of Dumbledore is the third movie in the Fantastic Beasts series, following 2016's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and 2018's The Crimes of Grindelwald. This movie marks Mikkelsen's debut as Grindelwald, who replaced Johnny Depp after Warner Bros. asked Depp to resign because of abuse allegations between Depp and Amber Heard. Mikkelsen has called taking over the role, "tricky", saying, "there has to be a bridge between what Johnny did and what I'm going to do."
The screenplay for Secrets of Dumbledore was penned by J.K. Rowling, the original creator of the Harry Potter series. That makes the decision to support the movie or not difficult for many fans of the wizarding world, as J.K. Rowling has become a major proponent of anti-transgender rhetoric.
There are plenty of other Harry Potter projects in the works right now, including a 20th anniversary HBO Max special featuring the three original Harry Potter cast members. The announcement of the reunion made no mention of any involvement with Rowling. There's also Hogwarts Legacy, a Harry Potter video game coming next year, which allow players to create transgender characters.

Mega Man Movie In the Works at Netflix
Mega Man will soon be coming to Netflix in a live-action adaptation of the classic Capcom video game.
IGN has learned from sources familiar with the project that the Mega Man film is still very early in development. However, it looks as though the streaming giant will bring Mega Man to our screens.
Although the project is yet to be confirmed by Netflix, the film’s production company Supermarché let slip about the partnership during a recent website update.
“Henry, Rel, and their in-house producer Orlee-Rose Strauss maintain an active development slate,” reads the official website (as spotted by Rockman Corner). “Features in the works include an adaptation of Capcom's Mega Man for Chernin Entertainment and Netflix, which they wrote and are directing.”
A live-action Mega Man movie was first announced back in 2018 just days after the release of Mega Man 11. Back then, the upcoming feature film was given the working title “MEGA MAN”. Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman were confirmed to both write and direct the movie and it was originally announced for 20th Century Fox.
Although little has been heard about the project since it was first announced, Joost and Schulman confirmed that the movie was still in development last year.
“We are super excited about it,” said Joost. “I think we’re going to have some big news about it soon. I can’t say all that much right now, but it’s a project very near and dear to our hearts and we’re psyched.”
Netflix certainly seems like a natural home for the project, with the company garnering huge success with recent adaptations Castlevania, The Witcher, and League of Legends: Arcane.

Golden Globes 2022 Nominees Announced: Belfast and The Power of the Dog Lead With 7 Nominations
The nominees for the 79th Golden Globe Awards have been announced, with Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast and Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog leading the pack.
Both Belfast and The Power of the Dog have totted up 7 nominations with both films up for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay.
This year’s nominees were announced by rapper Snoop Dogg and HFPA president Helen Hoehne during an official Golden Globes 2022 livestream on Monday. Belfast landed a long list of nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay along with Best Actor (Jamie Dornan and Ciarán Hinds), Best Actress (Caitriona Balfe), and Best Original Song.

This year’s Best Animated Film is dominated by Disney, with the studio totting up 3 nominations in one category, for Encanto, Luca and Raya and the Last Dragon.
Leonardo DiCaprio has received a nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for his role in Don’t Look Up, which is bound to prove divisive. But Kristen Stewart is already taking steps towards that Oscar with her Best Actress nomination for Spencer.
This year’s Golden Globe Awards could be the first that won’t be broadcast live, after NBC pulled out of the awards following backlash over the HFPA’s lack of action when it comes to diversifying its membership. However, the HFPA still plans to hold the ceremony, with the winners potentially announced via press conference.
Meanwhile, Succession has swept the board when it comes to the TV categories, with nominations for Best Drama Series as well as its stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook. Both Ted Lasso and The Morning Show followed with 4 nominations each. Netflix was also the leading studio this year with a staggering 17 nominations - 12 more than any of its competitors.
