George R.R. Martin Now Hopes to Have The Winds of Winter Completed By Next Year
George RR Martin has shared a fresh update on how things are coming along with writing The Winds of Winter, the sixth instalment of his fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, from which the hit HBO drama Game of Thrones spawned.
The legendary author posted a new blog entry, titled "Writing, Reading, Writing," on Tuesday, assuring fans that he has been staying healthy amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but has been consumed with writing ever since his last update.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/03/18/george-rr-martin-says-hes-healthy-isolated-and-getting-plenty-of-writing-done"]
"I have to confess, after half a year of pandemic, quarantine, and social distancing, I am showing signs of cabin fever... half of which is quite literal in my case. Yes, I am in an actual cabin in the mountains. No, I have no fever. Yay! For the present at least, I am healthy... for an out-of-shape guy of 71, at least... and doing all I can to stay that way," Martin wrote in his candid post.
He added: "If nothing else, the enforced isolation has helped me write. I am spending long hours every day on The Winds of Winter, and making steady progress. I finished a new chapter yesterday, another one three days ago, another one the previous week. But no, this does not mean that the book will be finished tomorrow or published next week. It's going to be a huge book, and I still have a long way to go."
Martin addressed his cancelled trip to Wellington for CoNZealand, the 78th World Science Fiction Convention, saying he was "heartbroken" that the event had been forced to go virtual this year. However, he also noted that "a long interruption" might have cost him "all the momentum" that he has built up, so he will visit next year when he hopes "both COVID-19 and The Winds of Winter will be done."

As a further teaser, Martin said that he has been "visiting with Cersei, Asha, Tyrion, Ser Barristan, and Areo Hotah" while writing, and will be "dropping back into Braavos" next week, "with occasional side trips to other places in the pages of a great book."
Despite admitting to having good days and bad days on the novel, Martin appears to be sticking to his prior promise that he will not develop scripts for the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, until he finishes writing The Winds of Winter.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 Announced
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2, the sequel to 2018's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Kickstarter 8-bit spinoff bonus game, will be "coming soon" to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Revealed during the New Game Plus digital event, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 is once again being produced by Artplay's Koji Igarashi, who directed many Castlevania games during his time at Konami.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/23/bloodstained-curse-of-the-moon-2-world-premiere-trailer"]
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon was inspired by NES' Castlevania games, specifically Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, and the sequel follows suit.
Curse of the Moon 2 features multiple playable characters, including the original's Zangetsu - the "sword-wielding exorcist," Dominique - an "exorcist sent by the church who heals her allies and uses her spears to fell demons," Robert - a "sharpshooting soldier capable of sniping his demonic foes," and Hachi - a "Corgi who pulverizes demons by controlling a colossal suit of magicked armor."
In our review of Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, we said "The prospect of playing such a lovingly crafted tribute to the vintage heyday of Konami's seemingly abandoned Castlevania series more than makes up for a few out-of-place boss fights and a slightly too punitive death penalty. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon delivers a brief but effective burst of nostalgia, and thanks to its many creative modifiers it contains enough replay value to engage (and challenge) anyone who pines for gaming's bygone days."

Jurassic World’s Colin Trevorrow to Direct Atlantis Thriller for Universal Pictures
Jurassic World: Dominion director Colin Trevorrow is re-teaming with Universal Pictures for a new film centered around the mythical city of Atlantis.
Deadline reports that Trevorrow lined up the sci-fi thriller Atlantis as his next project ahead of restarting production on the final Jurassic World film. The film is said to be based on a plot about the legend of the lost city that Trevorrow and his Metronome Film Co. will produce.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/06/23/jurassic-world-3-where-does-the-franchise-go-from-here"]
The story, conceived by Trevorrow and Bridge of Spies scripter Matt Charman, will be written by Dante Harper, who also penned the screenplay for Alien: Covenant. The narrative will apparently take a different approach to previous incarnations of the mythical city's underwater kingdom.
Instead of submerging into these stories, it is understood that Trevorrow's Atlantis is going to be set on "a lost continent in the Indian Ocean between Africa, India and Oceania," which is described as "a multicultural civilization with its own advanced technology."
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-images&captions=true"]
Trevorrow reportedly hatched the concept for Atlantis in late 2018, but he kept the project beneath the surface to allow the creative team to fully develop the world before starting work on the scripting process.
Before diving into that project, Trevorrow is set to resume production on Jurassic World: Dominion on July 6 at London's Pinewood Studios after filming halted back in March due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

This Gaming Chair Will Massage You as You Play
Last year Acer introduced us to the ultimate gamer’s dream, a gaming chair that massages you as you play. The only problem with that magnificent gaming chair was it was tied to a $14,000 battle station complete with three monitors called the Predator Thronos Air.
Well if you just wanted the chair, you’re in luck. Acer has spun off its massaging gaming chair into a product of its own called the Predator Gaming Chair x OSIM.
This gaming chair is designed to simulate the feel of a hand massage with two sets of rollers that can reach across your whole back. There are three pre-programmed massage modes designed to target your neck and shoulders, lumbar, or energize you for an intense match.
Beyond that gamers can customize the chair’s massage settings as users can adjust the rollers to six different shoulder positions to meet their specific height and width. And if you just have one sore spot, users can program the spot-massage mode to focus on a single area.
And if you want to get extra comfortable, users can also lie back in the Predator Gaming Chair x OSIM at a 145-degree angle.
To help accommodate all of this flexibility, the Predator Gaming Chair x OSIM features a wide mesh back paired with a large seat that should accommodate most gamers.
One extra feature of this gaming chair is it has a pair of Bluetooth speakers built into the headrest. It only produces stereo sound of course, but that’s enough to deliver dynamic sound effects without needing to don a gaming headset.
Acer has yet to announce pricing or a release date for the Predator Gaming Chair x OSIM.

Cyberpunk 2077 Getting a Comic Book Series Tie-In Before Launch
Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a comic book series that ties in to the game before it launches later this year.
Dark Horse Comics recently created a listing for the comic series and it's called Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team. The series will be about an assistant emergency medical technician on a failed rescue mission, presumably in Night City, the game's main setting.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=7-cyberpunk-games-to-play-while-youre-waiting-for-cyberpunk-2077&captions=true"]
"Nadia, an assistant EMT for a privately-owned business known as Trauma Team International, is the sole survivor of a failed rescue mission turned shootout," the listing reads. "After she agrees to continue work for an upcoming extraction mission, Nadia and her new team find themselves in an even more dangerous and life-threatening situation."
This is the listing for the series' first issue. It's unknown at this time how many issues will be in this series. The team behind the comic is writer Cullen Bunn, who wrote Dark Horse's Harrow County and Marvel's Uncanny X-Men in 2016, and illustrator Miguel Valderrama, who illustrated Dark Horse's Giants.
This "new series based on the highly anticipated game" will be released on September 9 later this year with a price tag of $3.99 for issue one, which will be 32 pages long. The September 9 release date makes sense when you consider that Cyberpunk 2077 was set to be released on September 17 after a delay from its original April release date. The game was recently delayed once more to its new date of November 19.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/05/28/cyberpunk-2077-53-gameplay-details"]
While Dark Horse has a listing up for the comic, it does not appear to be available for pre-order or purchase just yet. Read about CD Projekt Red's plans for a "more robust" next-gen upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077 while waiting for this tie-in comic book to be released. Check out this neat easter egg hidden on the recently-released Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox controller, too.
