Destiny 2 Confirmed for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 will be making its way to both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Following Microsoft's Inside Xbox that showcased the first gameplay footage from third-party Xbox Series X games, Bungie took the opportunity to announce that Destiny 2 would indeed be coming to "next-gen platforms" and that it would discuss further details in the future. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/05/02/how-destinys-seasonal-model-is-changing-fireteam-chat-ep-259"] It is unclear if Destiny 2 will take advantage of Xbox's Smart Delivery, which allows those who already own a specific title to upgrade to the next-gen version at no additional cost. Last year, Bungie separated from Activision and now has complete control over Destiny 2. It also announced that it has plans to also release one non-Destiny game by 2025. Bungie also revealed that it would be transitioning Destiny 2 from a first-person shooter game to an action-MMO, and that it would be offering a new free-to-play model called New Light. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-bungie-game-ever-reviewed-by-ign&captions=true"] Destiny 2 joins the ever-growing list of confirmed titles coming to Xbox Series X, a list that includes such current-gen titles as Gears 5, Rainbow Six Seige, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Cyberpunk 2077. Destiny 2 has been going strong since it was released in 2017, and it remains as one of our choices for the Top 10 Most Addictive Online Games. Scorn Was the Surprise Hit of Inside Xbox… and We Saw It 3 Years Ago

Our IGN hosts discussing the Inside Xbox gameplay reveals have named Scorn as the biggest surprise of the show. The H.R.Giger-like horror has also been going down a storm on Twitter. But, interestingly, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Scorn. We actually first saw it back in September 2017… almost three years ago. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2017/09/06/scorn-8-minute-gameplay-trailer"] You can check out eight minutes of gameplay in the video above if the Xbox Series X trailer wasn’t quite enough for you. Of course, Scorn has likely advanced quite a bit since 2017, but you’ll still get a good feel for what the game is all about. If you’re a PC player, you may be even more clued up on Scorn, as it's been listed on Steam for quite some time. Some PC gamers have even played Scorn, as developers Ebb Software put out a playable alpha demo in 2017, too. Have you already played Scorn and are ready for more in next-gen quality, or is this your first taste of the horror and it has you intrigued? IGN will be sure to have more information on Scorn as we approach launch. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/05/07/scorn-xbox-series-x-gameplay-reveal"] Ebb Software have announced that Scorn will be exclusive to Xbox Series X when the game launches. No details have been provided about a PC or PlayStation release, but the developer's website lists only Xbox, Windows Store, and Steam. For more, check out the first in-engine look at Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon and read why we think you should lower your expectations for next-gen graphics.
