Xbox Games With Gold Free Games for June Announced

Microsoft has revealed the lineup of free games coming to Xbox in June as a part of its monthly Games With Gold program, including the return of Destroy All Humans!... but not the Destroy All Humans! remake coming later this year. The following games will be available to download for free for Xbox Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers: [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/05/26/xbox-june-2020-games-with-gold-trailer"]
  • Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse ($19.99 ERP): Available June 1 to 30 on Xbox One
  • Coffee Talk ($13.99 ERP): Available June 16 to July 15 on Xbox One
  • Destroy All Humans! ($19.99 ERP): Available June 1 to 15 on Xbox One & Xbox 360
  • Sine Mora ($9.99 ERP): Available June 16 to 30 on Xbox One & Xbox 360
While THQ Nordic is set to release a Destroy All Humans! remake on July 28, the inclusion above is the originally released Xbox version for those itching to take over humanity and just can't wait for the remake. IGN's original Destroy All Humans! review called the adventure "a very basic box of good and bad free-roaming shooting," which "boasts terrific personality, a great premise and some generally solid action." Games With Gold will also offer Shantae and the Pirate's Curse for free in June, which originally released in 2014 and was praised in IGN's review as as adventure that "succeeds by building a funny, gorgeous world around its tried and true Metroidvania gameplay." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=23-best-xbox-game-pass-games&captions=true"] Coffee Talk is the newest game on this month's list of free games, a '90s adventure game-inspired journey that offers "players friendly conversation and late-night warm drinks to the colourful and fantastical inhabitants of alternative-Seattle including elves, aliens, and orcs." Lastly, Sine Mora is a side-scrolling shooter with time-manipulation gameplay thrown into the mix. IGN's original Sine Mora review earned the game a 9, as we said "With a relatively manageable Story Mode and a ridiculously difficult Arcade Mode, pilots of all skill levels should check out Sine Mora. No more delays! At long last, we're playing The Last of Us Part 2, and we'll post our review – written by our own Jonathon Dornbushtonight, on Friday, June 12, at 12:01AM Pacific Time. That's almost a full week before it the whole world gets to play on Friday, June 19 (or Thursday, June 18, depending on where you are/how late you like to stay up) – you'll have plenty of time to read, watch, and make your informed decision about if and when to jump in yourself. As you can see from the slideshow below, there's good reason to be excited whenever Naughty Dog releases a new game. Between the Uncharted series and the original The Last of Us (among others!) it's earned a reputation as one of the crown jewels of Sony's first-party development studios. We're hoping that hot streak continues with The Last of Us Part 2, and that one of the last big games of the generation sends the PS4 out with a bang! Star Wars: The High Republic Delayed Until January 2021

Lucasfilm has delayed the launch of its cross-media Star Wars prequel series, The High Republic, until January 2021. Announced on StarWars.com, the delay comes asa result of "recent world events" (read: COVID-19). As a result, all three announced High Republic products have been delayed from their original 2020 release dates. Charles Soule's adult novel Star Wars: The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, and Justina Ireland's middle-grade novel Star Wars: The High Republic: A Test of Courage will both see release on January 5, 2021. Claudia Gray's young adult-focused Star Wars: The High Republic: Into the Dark will follow on February 2. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/27/star-wars-the-high-republic-explained"] Announcements of release dates for Marvel's The High Republic comic series, and IDW Publishing’s Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures series will follow at a later date. Lucasfilm Publishing creative director Michael Siglain penned an open letter to fans, explaining the delay by saying it is to "ensure that the launch is as grand and epic as it deserves to be." "Now, I know that waiting isn't easy", Siglain continues. "And I know fans have been excited for this since it was first announced. I'm right there with you. I've also been waiting to tell this story for years. And while I can't say much about it, I can tell you that our story architects – Claudia Gray, Justina Ireland, Doniel Jose Older, Cavan Scott, and Charles Soule – are continuing to work away on this new era of stories. You'll hear from them this summer, and when you do, be sure to ask them about "The Hero of Hetzal," "the twins," the "Blade of Bardotta," the Starros and San Tekka clans, and the Storms. You're not going to believe what they've got in store for the Jedi and the Republic." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=star-wars-the-high-republic-publishing-initiative-novels-books-and-comics&captions=true"] The High Republic era is set roughly 200 years before any current canon Star Wars media, and will focus on the Golden Age of the Jedi. It will also reveal a dark event known as the Great Disaster and see the Jedi confront an enemy called the Nihil. We've got an explainer on everything there is to know about The High Republic, an explanation as to why lightsabers were different in that era, and a reveal of 5 new Jedi knights and masters. Here's how to help and stay safe during the coronavirus outbreak. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Joe Skrebels is IGN's Executive Editor of News. Follow him on Twitter.

No Man’s Sky Landing on Xbox Game Pass in June 2020

Hello Games and Microsoft have revealed that No Man's Sky will be released on Xbox Game Pass in June 2020. Announced on Xbox Wire, Xbox Game Pass members will soon be able to play in No Man's Sky "infinite, procedurally-generated" universe with "over 10 million Xbox Game Pass members." No Man's Sky was originally released on PlayStation 4 and PC in August 2016 before arriving on Xbox One in July 2018. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/04/07/no-mans-sky-exo-mech-update-official-reveal-trailer"] In our original review, we said "No Man's Sky reaches for the stars but falls short by light years. It's amazingly big, but too often poorly designed." However, since then, Hello Games has provided regular free updates that have improved the gameplay experience, including the massive Beyond and Next updates and additions such as VR, multiplayer, new alien races, Exo-Mechs, and so much more. Hello Games, even though they have announced another game in The Last Campfire, are still committed to supporting this game for the foreseeable future, so Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have plenty to look forward to. No Man's Sky made it on the list of the 9 Games That Made a Major Comeback, a list that includes other games like Star Wars: Battlefront II and Final Fantasy XIV.
