Netflix’s The Witcher Season 2 Expected in 2021, Will Be ‘Much More Linear’
The creators of Netflix’s The Witcher series are aiming to get Season 2 out in 2021 and confirm that it will be more linear than the first season.
This comes from showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich who responded to questions from The Witcher fans in a Reddit AMA session on January 7, 2020. “We don't yet have a target launch date for S2, past 2021,” she said in one response. “We don't want to rush the product. That doesn't benefit anyone.”
One of the recurring topics brought up in the AMA was about the non-linear structure of the first season and whether that would be replicated in Season 2. “The story will be much more linear, now that the three characters' stories have started to intersect,” Hissrich confirmed.
There Were Never Plans for THOSE Force Ghosts in Rise of Skywalker
This article contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
To the dismay of some Star Wars fans, there were never plans to have Anakin Skywalker or Kylo Ren appear as Force Ghosts at the end of Episode IX.
Yahoo! Entertainment reports that Roger Guyett, the visual effects supervisor for The Rise of Skywalker, says the team never created a Force Ghost for the redeemed Ben Solo after he died.
The very end of the film sees Rey abandoning her Palpatine roots in favour of the Skywalker name. Luke and Leia are shown in their Force Ghost forms giving a sense of approval to the move but there's no Anakin or Ben Solo to be seen.

Do Marvel VFX Artists Prefer Directors Who Know Less About Effects?
CGI effects are par for the course in superhero films these days. It’s likely that you sit through the credits at Marvel films to check out post-credit sequences, so you’ve probably seen the very long lists of people who work in the effects departments. Computer-generated effects are a specialized skill - sometimes directors know a lot about the process, and sometimes they rely more on the specialists to create sequences and tell them what is possible for a scene.
IGN got a chance to speak to the VFX department for Avengers: Endgame, including Dan DeLeeuw, and Captain Marvel’s Shannon Justison, Janelle Croshaw Ralla and Nick Crew. They told us all about working with directors, and what they prefer in terms of director knowledge about their craft.
How the Rise of Skywalker VFX Team Pulled Off Carrie Fisher’s Scenes
This article contains some spoilers for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
When Carrie Fisher passed away in 2016, Star Wars fans were heartbroken. They were also concerned about the role General Leia Organa would play in the then-yet to be filmed third installment in the final trilogy of the Skywalker saga. Director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy made the decision not to digitally recreate Fisher for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but to instead use footage she had already shot for the earlier films and work them into the plot.
Of course, a lot of digital work had to be done to blend Leia into scenes with the actors. IGN got a chance to speak to some of the visual effects department for the film, including visual effects supervisor Roger Guyett, creature effects supervisor Neal Scanlan and ILM visual effects supervisor Patrick Tuback about what it took to bring Princess Leia back for the final chapter in the Skywalker Saga.
