Pokemon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass Announced

Pokemon Sword and Shield is getting a $29.99 / £26.99 Expansion Pass (no Australian price available at time of writing) this year, featuring two new adventures - and it’ll bring back more than 200 of the past games' Pokemon missing from the new Galarian Pokedex.

The Isle of Armor expansion will be available by the end of June, while The Crown Tundra will arrive in fall. You can pre-purchase the Pass today, which will earn you codes for Pikachu and Eevee uniforms to use in-game.

The new expansions include entire new areas – accessible as soon as you reach the game’s Wild Area – and will introduce brand new Pokemon (with some exclusives depending on your version of the game), new Galarian regional forms and new Legendaries. Both will come with their own Pokedex, new characters, new outfits, and include Pokemon Dens with brand new Max Raid Battles. Players without the Expansion Pass can be invited into these Max Raids by those who do.

Were Star Trek: Picard’s Real Villains Just Revealed?

Spoilers follow for the Short Trek episode “Children of Mars,” along with speculation about how it could tie into Star Trek: Picard.

The last episode of the second series of Short Treks just dropped, and not surprisingly “Children of Mars” serves as a prelude to the new Picard show which debuts on January 23. Up until now, the creators of Star Trek: Picard -- which sees the return of Patrick Stewart to the iconic title role after an almost 20-year break -- have kept pretty quiet about what the show will be about. But “Children of Mars” clearly sets up what will surely be a major element of the show.

How Picard Connects to “Children of Mars”

The short is mostly a wordless but effective tale about a couple of schoolgirls on Earth whose parents work out at the Federation shipyards on (and above) Mars. The two wind up in a spat, which escalates over time into a full-blown physical fight, but when tragedy strikes, they find themselves united. And it’s that tragedy that connects to Star Trek: Picard.

In a recent interview with Variety, Robbie confirmed that the Joker character is not in Birds of Prey or The Suicide Squad reboot, though she praised Joaquin Phoenix's recent interpretation of the Clown Prince of Crime, saying he did a "phenomenal job" in the film, which is apparently more "grounded" than Birds of Prey.
