Here’s Our First Real Look at an Intel Graphics Card

Intel surprised us at CES 2020 by demoing its first discrete graphics card technology in a gaming laptop that was able to run Destiny 2 extremely well. And now in another unexpected surprise, Intel announced its plans to release its first dGPU in a desktop graphics card form factor as well.

Enter the Intel DG1, a seemingly small discrete graphics card with a blower style fan and a strip of RGB lighting. Unfortunately, Intel hasn't provided details on how many stream processors, compute units, or any measure of specs that would inform us of how powerful this card will be.

FX Orders Three More Seasons of American Horror Story

American Horror Story fans have plenty of reason to be excited for the future of the series. FX has ordered three more seasons of the long-running horror anthology. The news was announced by John Landgraf, Chairman of FX Networks and FX Productions, ahead of FX's presentation at the Television Critics Association upfronts. In addition to the upcoming Season 10, American Horror Story has now been granted a Season 11, 12 and 13. "Ryan [Murphy] and Brad [Falchuk] are the undisputed masters of horror TV, having created the anthological limited series with American Horror Story and sustaining its success for nearly a decade as FX’s highest-rated series,” said Landgraf in a statement. “We are grateful to them and Dana Walden and our studio partners for committing to another three years. AHS has showcased a wealth of award winning actors since day one and we appreciate the contributions of everyone, including Ryan, Brad and fellow executive producers Tim Minear, James Wong, Alexis Martin Woodall and Bradley Buecker, the writers, directors, cast and crew for each new, unforgettable installment of American Horror Story.” [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=american-horror-story-1984-gallery&captions=true"] The most recent incarnation of the series was 2019's American Horror Story: 1984, which drew inspiration from '80s horror movies like Friday the 13th. You can check out our review of the first episode here. Season 9 also marked the series 100th episode, sparking a big cast reunion just in time for Halloween. FX has yet to reveal a title, release date or cast for AHS: Season 10. The fact that co-creator Ryan Murphy signed a lucrative deal with Netflix in 2018 cast doubt on whether the series even would continue beyond Season 10. Production on Season 10 may be dependent on Murphy's busy schedule. That schedule includes the upcoming Impeachment: American Crime Story, which dramatizes the events surrounding President Bill Clinton's impeachment scandal. Clive Owen was recently cast as President Clinton. The Witcher Showrunner Explains Why Nilfgaard Armour Is So Ugly

The showrunner of Netflix’s The Witcher, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, has explained the decisions behind the controversial design of the Nilfgaardian army’s armour. The armour, first spotted in set photographs leaked months ahead of the show’s launch, is oddly shaped and covered in ‘wrinkles’. It became the subject of much online confusion and even ridicule, with many unfavorably comparing it to the designs used for the CD Projekt RED video games. [caption id="attachment_2283652" align="alignnone" width="1280"]The Nilfgaardian armor design in Netflix's The Witcher. The Nilfgaardian armor design in Netflix's The Witcher.[/caption] Talking to IGN, Hissrich explained why the armour looks so strange. “What was important for us about the Nilfgaardian army was to bring it away from the Cintran army,” she said. “[Cintra has] an incredibly well-trained army that comes from a kingdom with a lot of money. We wanted to contrast that with Nilfgaard, which obviously is a very powerful army as well, but is moving northward and has been for a while, and conscripting new people into its army.” “[The armour had to] look like they picked it up, they did it quickly, and they put them on them. It’s not meant to have the same look as standard armour.” Producer Tomasz Bagiński noted that the Nilfgaardian army was inspired by huge historical forces, which often used quickly made, poorer-looking armour in order to protect their vast numbers of soldiers. “If the Cintran army has 200 soldiers, then [Nilfgaard] has 20,000,” he explained. “It’s about numbers, about covering other armies with people. And there were armies like that, in the history of the human race, and they were actually quite effective. But they weren’t looking great!” [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-monster-in-season-1-of-netflixs-the-witcher&captions=true"] Bagiński also said that they wanted to make Nilfgaard feel like a strange force coming from different lands. “It was quite important to make them look alien, in a way,” he said. “They are different. It’s a huge group of people coming from the south who are almost just aliens.” For more, you can listen to the entire interview with Hissrich and Bagiński on episode 520 of the IGN UK podcast. Unfortunately if you’re looking for even more of the show, you’ll have to wait as The Witcher Season 2 is not due until 2021. Next Batman Game Teased With New Logo

Update:

Warner Bros. Games Montreal updated their website with a mysterious circle that houses some of the different sigils teased so far. Two of the blanks are filled with the emblems for the League of Shadows and today's mysterious Gotham City symbol. But there are still eight circles left empty.

WB Games seems to be teasing at least eight more emblems that could represent different factions in the game. We know at least one other emblem not included in this circle is a torch symbol WB Games teased in September 2019, but the rest remains a mystery. It's likely WB Games will continue to reveal more emblems to complete this sigil.

Original story follows:

The studio behind Batman: Arkham Origins has revealed a new logo that teases its next game.

Warner Bros. Games Montreal updated its social media accounts today with a new logo that seems to be for its next Batman game. The logo comes with a caption that reads “Cape sur la nuit / Capture the Knight.”

You can see half the logo on the studio’s Facebook page while the rest of it has been uploaded to the studio’s Instagram and Twitter accounts. Twitter account @ArkhamVideos has stitched them together to create what it believes the full image will be.

As can be seen when putting all three images together, the logo is white and circular, with an eagle’s head at the top, wings coming down the side, and in the middle are eagle talons, a crown, a set of scales, and crossed swords. There's also the shape of a city, potentially Gotham.

As with the teaser WB Games Montreal released back in September 2019, it appears that these logos could points towards a new Batman game featuring the Court of Owls - despite that definitely being an eagle in this new logo. The previous tease was backed up with a tweet from original Court of Owls author Scott Snyder, with the hashtag #bewarethecourtofowls.

The Court of Owls is a secret society that kidnaps children and trains them to become assassins known as Talons. The Court of Owls is one of Batman’s more recent villains in the comic books, being introduced in 2011, and more recently becoming known as the Parliament of Owls.

WB Games Montreal’s latest release was the Batman: Arkham Collection, which packaged all three of the Batman games it made with Rocksteady together for PS4 and Xbox One.

Pokemon Home Gets a Release Window

Pokemon Home, the cloud-based Pokemon storage service, will release in February 2020.

Designed to essentially replace Pokemon Bank, Pokemon Home is compatible with Pokemon Go, Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, and Sword and Shield. It can also be linked to Pokemon Bank, which means that it is effectively compatible with all the 3DS Pokemon games, too.

Because of the link to Pokemon Bank, theoretically, Pokemon you have collected from as far back as the Sapphire and Ruby generation on Game Boy Advance could be transferred into Pokemon Home.

With all your monsters in Home’s storage, they can then be transferred into Pokemon Sword and Shield, provided the game supports them. And with the new Sword and Shield Expansion Pass adding more older Pokemon to the game, you should be able to take even more of your collection into battle.
