Here’s What Fans Are Saying About Byleth Joining Smash Bros.

After today's announcement that Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, reactions are mixed. The Three Houses protagonist is the fifth and final character in Smash Ultimate's first Fighters Pass. Director Masahiro Sakurai also announced that six more characters are on the way in Fighters Pass Volume 2, so regardless of your feelings on Byleth, there are still plenty more characters to look forward to.

Some Fans Are Disappointed With 'Another Fire Emblem Character'

With Byleth's addition, there are now eight Fire Emblem characters on the Smash Ultimate roster. Some believe that's too many representatives from Nintendo's strategy RPG series.

Reactions to the False Dante Predictions

Some fans were convinced that Dante from the Devil May Cry series would be the fifth DLC fighter. Instead, we got a fighter that not very many people saw coming.

Three Houses Fans Are Excited

Fire Emblem: Three Houses was a hit last year, winning the Player's Voice award at The Game Awards. Some Fire Emblem fans are happy to see more success for Three Houses.

Excitement for Cuphead's Mii Fighter Costume

Cuphead is joining Smash Ultimate as a costume for the Mii Gunner, and many players are thrilled to see more indie representation in Smash Bros. Byleth will join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on January 28. On the same day, you'll be able to pre-purchase Fighters Pass Volume 2, which comes with a Ancient Armor Mii costume from Breath of the Wild. Fire Emblem: Three Houses Expansion Pass Wave 4 DLC Announced

Nintendo revealed Fire Emblem: Three Houses' Wave 4 DLC contents and release date during its Direct presentation on Thursday.

Those who have purchased Fire Emblem: Three Houses' Expansion Pass will have access to the Wave 4 DLC on February 12, 2020. Watch the newest trailer below.

[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/01/16/fire-emblem-three-houses-dlc-wave-4-trailer"]

The Wave 4 DLC contains the ‘Cindered Shadows’ side story. It takes place in a new location called Abyss, which are the underground tunnels below Garreg Mach, where the monastery’s secret fourth house, the Ashen Wolves, hides.

As the trailer reveals, you’ll be able to fight alongside four students from Ashen Wolves as you progress through the story - they are Yuri, Hapi, Constance, and Balthus. Beat the story and you’ll be able to bring the students into the main story as recruitable units.

Fire Emblem Three Houses Abyss

The Wave 4 DLC will also add new classes, quests, paralogues, and activities to Fire Emblem: Three Houses so you should have plenty to keep you busy.

Nintendo also revealed during its Direct today that the next fighter being added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be Fire Emblem: Three House’s own Byleth.

It’s not Devil May Cry’s Dante, as many people hoped it would be, but you can hold out for him being one of the six fighters being added to Smash Bros. before 2022.

Fortnite: Where to Find No Swimming Sign Locations

After it's surprise release, the Fortnite 8-Ball vs. Scratch challenges are live in the game. One of the early challenges will task players with swimming in front of different "No Swimming" signs. Since these can be hard to track down, we are here to help. This week has been a busy one for Fortnite players, between the new Ninja skin and the v11.40 update, the last thing players expected was for Epic to drop two surprise mission sets — but alas, here we are.

Where to Find No Swimming Signs in Fortnite

No Swimming signs are scattered about all over the Fortnite map, but for this challenge, players will only need to visit two of them. Unfortunately, they are a bit spread out, so this challenge could prove to be tough to complete in one match. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-most-addictive-online-games&captions=true"] However, as you can see in the map below, there are two No Swimming signs located right next to each other. It's currently unclear if both of these signs will count as individual locations or if they'll be grouped together — but it's worth checking out if you're in that area. Fortnite No Swimming Signs Once you've tracked down the No Swimming signs in Fortnite, simply hop in the water for a quick swim to complete this challenge. If you need more help with the Fortnite 8-Ball vs. Scratch challenges, be sure to check out our Fortnite wiki page and our list of Weekly Challenges. Metro Redux Officially Coming to Nintendo Switch

Metro Redux, which includes the enhanced versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, will be available for Nintendo Switch on February 28, 2020.

Metro Redux for Switch will be sold as a boxed edition that includes both games as a single campaign. All the DLC for Metro: Last Light, which adds about another 10 hours of playtime, is also included.

The box will contain a single 16GB cart with no additional download required. If you pre-order the Ranger Cache pack from selected retailers you’ll also get a bunch of additional goodies.

[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2014/09/30/ign-plays-metro-redux-with-deep-silver"]

Included in the Ranger Cache pack is a Metro Redux pin badge set, game case sleeve, double-sided alternate artwork inlay, four double-sided art cards, and an A2 double-sided poster.

If you prefer digital downloads, you’ll have to purchase Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux separately from the Nintendo eShop.

Metro Redux gives you the choice of playing through the campaign in two different ways. You can opt for the “Survival” play style for a slower, survival horror experience. Or you can choose the “Spartan” play style if you want more of an action-based first-person shooter campaign.

[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="legacyId=20017405&captions=true"]

Metro Redux previously came to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2014. In our Metro Redux review, we said that "despite their seemingly miserable setting, both Metro games are in fact fun, diverse shooter-adventures."

The double game compilation has you playing as Artyom as he navigates the post-apocalyptic tunnels of the Moscow underground in the year 2033. While it’s dark and full of warring factions down there, it’s better than trying to deal with the poisonous wasteland and its deadly mutants on the surface.

Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light are the first two games in the series. In 2019, a third part called Metro Exodus came out, which we gave an 8.5 in our Metro Exodus review.

Tatooine-Like Planet Discovered By 17 Year-Old NASA Intern

A NASA intern discovered a new planet that’s similar to Tatooine from Star Wars - on his third day of work.

NASA explained that the planet now known as TOI 1338 b is a “circumbinary planet,” which means it orbits two stars. It was discovered by 17 year-old Wolf Cukier on the third day of his summer 2019 internship with NASA.

[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/08/16/canceled-star-wars-spinoff-featured-tatooine-ign-news"]

Cukier was tasked with examining variations in star brightness that had been captured by NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) when he saw a signal from the system called TOI 1338.

“At first I thought it was a stellar eclipse, but the timing was wrong. It turned out to be a planet,” Cukier said.

TOI 1338 b is the first circumbinary planet to be found by TESS (circumbinary planets have been discovered previously by NASA’s Kepler and K2 missions). It’s about 1,300 light years away in the constellation called Pictor. The first of the two stars it orbits is 10% bigger than our Sun while the other is cooler, dimmer, and about a third of our Sun’s mass.

Star Wars Tatooine

If you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll recall that Luke Skywalker’s home planet, Tatooine, orbits two stars, just like TOI 1338 b. “It's very much like Tatooine, at least how the stars would appear in the sky," Cuskier told the BBC. "So, it would also have a double sunset.”

Unfortunately, Cuskier says TOI 1338 b is probably too hot for it to be habitable and probably doesn’t have a solid surface. Your Skywalker dreams will have to be put on hold for now.

Speaking of which, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has now officially crossed $1 billion at the global box office. Why don’t you celebrate by checking out Colin Trevorrow’s leaked script for Star Wars IX? Be warned that it’s full of spoilers, of course.

Fortnite: Where to Search the Hidden Gnome in the 8-Ball vs. Scratch Challenges

The Fortnite 8-Ball vs. Scratch challenges are live, as Epic dropped them a day earlier than expected. One challenge will task players with searching the hidden gnome between Fancy View, a wooden shack, and a big house. In addition to dropping new challenges, Epic also announced that they would be releasing a Ninja skin in the coming days, and added Sidegrading in the v11.40 update.

Where to Search the Hidden Gnome in the 8-Ball vs. Scratch Challenges

If you're trying to track down the hidden gnome in the 8-Ball vs. Scratch challenges, then you're probably scratching your head trying to figure out where the hidden location between Fancy View, a wooden shack, and a big house is located. Fortnite Hidden Gnome 8 Ball vs. Scratch Unfortunately, it's not immediately obvious where you should be looking for the gnome, but we've tracked down its exact location. As you can see on the map above, you'll find the hidden gnome in Fortnite along the western side of the map. More specifically, you'll find the hidden gnome southwest of Sweaty Sands, close to the edge of the beach. As you get close, you'll find it resting in a patch of yellow flowers. Fortnite Hidden Gnome 8 Ball vs. Scratch Location At first, these types of challenges can seem daunting, but they're actually pretty easy. It's also not the only hidden gnome challenge, as one was released with the Rippley vs. Sludge challenges. Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 1 is currently set to end sometime in February. In the meantime, be sure to check out our official Fortnite wiki along with our Weekly Challenge guides. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Andrew Smith is a freelance contributor with IGN. 6 New Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC Characters Will Arrive Before 2022

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will get a new Fighters Pass, including 6 new unannounced characters, and you can pre-purchase it from January 28. Fighters Pass Vol. 2 is in development now, and the promise is that the new characters will all be released before December 31, 2021. Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai explained that all 6 new characters have already been decided, and apologised that people would be pre-ordering the pass before knowing what's inside, telling players to do so only if they're "OK with that". Screenshot-2020-01-16-at-14.37If you pre-purchase the Pass, you'll receive a Zelda: Breath of the Wild Ancient Soldier outfit. This won't be available to purchase separately. The announcement comes after the first Fighters Pass ended with the addition of Fire Emblem's Byleth. Mii Fighter Costumes - including a snazzy Cuphead look for Gunners - were also revealed. Byleth From Fire Emblem Announced For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Byleth, the protagonist from Fire Emblem: Three houses, has been announced as the new fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch, in both male and female forms. Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai explained in an Nintendo Direct special that due to low mobility, Byleth's grab lacks range, but they are a "distance demon". With a bow and several long-range weapons, Byleth is well equipped for distance combat. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/01/16/super-smash-bros-ultimate-byleth-fire-emblem-trailer"] Byleth's skills come from their Hero Relic, which transforms their sword into a variety of new forms, including the Sword of the Creator, the Areadbhar lance, the Aymr axe, and Failnaught bow. Sword of the Creator is Byleth's standard weapon, used for flurry and dash attacks. Like the weapon in the Three Houses game, it can be transformed into a whip for for much longer-range attacks. The up special, for example, will whip people up diagonally, which you can then grapple into. Similarly, the whip can be used to grapple up to ledges. Areadbhar, a long reach pole-arm, is another option for keeping foes at a distance. The tip of the lace is powerful, but the shaft is weak and so unsuited to close combat. Sakurai advised that players hit enemies with the blade aimed up or down. Its side special move is a far-reaching sweep upwards. Aymr is an axe used for powerful downward inputs. Using a down air attack creates a strong swing, which can even be used to create a meteor attack. Using Aymr for a downwards Smash attack swings the axe left and right, while the down special provides a devastating move akin to a Falcon Punch. This must be charged up, and during the charge period you can pass through platforms. It's advised that players don't use it against characters that can counter, such as other Fire Emblem characters, as the wind up provides plenty of warning. Finally there's the Failnaught bow which is used for neutral attack moves. It's pretty standard, with the special firing a long-distance arrow. However, unlike Link's bow, the attack can be kept charging until you're ready to fire. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=even-more-characters-we-want-in-super-smash-bros-ultimate-pt-1&captions=true"] Byleth's Final Smash is Progenitor God Final Heaven, in which they team up with Sothis for an explosive attack. As is tradition for Super Smash Bros. characters, there are alternating colour schemes to choose from, with each alternating number offering male or female versions of the character. There's also costumes inspired by the leaders of each of Fire Emblem's three houses - Dimitri, Claude, and Edelgard - as well as costume changes from the Three Houses plotline. Packaged with Byleth is a new stage based on Fire Emblem: Three Houses' Garreg Mach Monastery. It's made up of several of the key areas of the monastery - the marketplace, the reception hall, the bridge, and the cathedral - which will rotate through as the match progresses. Each area is populated by students from Three Houses, including all three house heads and favourites like Petra, Dorothea, Lorenz, and Ingrid. 11 tracks of Fire Emblem: Three Houses music accompanies the characters and stage, including both Japanese and English arrangements of the main theme. This music can be played on all Fire Emblem stages. There is also a new Fire Emblem Spirit Board filled out with popular characters, including Sothis as a Legend class. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/01/16/super-smash-bros-ultimate-mii-fighters-costumes-round-5-cuphead-and-altair-trailer"] In addition to all the Fire Emblem elements, Challenger Pack 5 also comes with a small collection of Mii fighter costumes. Altair from Assassin's Creed and a Rabbid represent Ubisoft as Swordfighter and Hat types respectively, While Megaman X, Megaman Battle Network's MegaMan.EXE, and Cuphead provide three new gunners. Byleth and the additional Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC will launch on January 28. Furthermore, Nintendo also announced that 6 new Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC characters will arrive before 2022. Mindhunter S3: Cast Released From Contracts, Netflix Series in Doubt

Mindhunter has been placed on "indefinite hold" at Netflix and cast members Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany and Anna Torv have been released from their respective contracts, making the future of the popular true-crime drama uncertain. According to TV Line, Mindhunter's potential third season has been put on hiatus to allow director David Fincher the opportunity to focus on several other projects in his hectic schedule, though "he may revisit Mindhunter again in the future." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=netflixs-mindhunter-season-2-images&captions=true"] "David is focused on directing his first Netflix film Mank and on producing the second season of Love, Death and Robots," a spokesperson for Netflix told the outlet. "He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn't fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own." The first season of Mindhunter followed FBI special agents Holden Ford (Groff) and Bill Tench (McCallany) as they teamed up to develop the foundations of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit, along with psychologist Wendy Carr (Torv). The trio set about interviewing some of America's most notorious serial killers to gain a deeper understanding of their psyche and motivations in order to assist in solving ongoing cases. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=10-real-serial-killers-featured-in-mindhunter-season-2&captions=true"] Season two of the slow-burn series, released last August, focused on the Atlanta Child Murders of 1979-81. Ford, Tench and Carr helped local authorities track down a mysterious killer responsible for kidnapping and murdering more than two dozen black children in the Atlanta area, as the skilled FBI team continued their work profiling imprisoned serial killers, including the likes of Cameron Britton as Ed Kemper, Oliver Cooper as David Berkowitz, and Damon Herriman as Charles Manson. In our review of the second season, we said that the show remained "a compelling and impeccably shot crime thriller" as it continued to build upon the groundwork laid out in season one, lending "fascinating insight into the minds of infamous serial killers and the men and woman who hunt them for a living" despite a "slow start." Wheel of Time Showrunner Posts Photo of Rand al’Thor on Set

Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins has offered fans a first look at the action, sharing a photo from the set of the upcoming fantasy series. Judkins posted the image to his Instagram account on Wednesday, showing the series' protagonist, Rand al'Thor (Josha Straowski), having his hair preened by a crew member against the picturesque backdrop of a mountainous location. In the caption alongside the photo, he wrote: "To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the publishing of the first Wheel of Time book, Amazon is letting me post this picture I took on set in the mountains of Slovenia! Including Rand Al'Thor getting his hair done, giant coats to show you how cold it was, and a mountain safety guide to make sure none of us fall off the cliff. Shooting this scene was one of the highlights of the whole project so far for me and it's awesome to get to share it." While no further details were given about the scene, fans of Robert Jordan's original book series had several suggestions for what could be the context of the snapshot. One commenter suggested that Rand may be using the isolated spot as a temporary hideout from Balthamel and Aginor, while another questioned whether the location could be Tarwin's Gap, a mountain pass that marks the boundary between the Mountains of Dhoom and the Spine of the World, where Rand  destroyed the Trolloc Army. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2017/04/20/wheel-of-time-in-60-seconds-what-you-need-to-know"] In addition to Straowski, the cast of the first season includes Michael McElhatton as Tam Al'Thor, father of Rand Al'Thor, Rosamund Pike as MoiraineMarcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, Barney Harris as Mat Cauthon, Madeleine Madden as Egwene Al'Vere, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve, and Daniel Henney as al'Lan MandragoranAlexandre Willaume also recently joined the cast as fan-favourite gleeman Thom Merrilin alongside three other key characters. Click through our gallery below to take a closer look at all of the cast members announced for Wheel of Time so far: [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=amazons-wheel-of-time-cast&captions=true"] Amazon's official description for The Wheel of Time series describes the show as one that is "set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it." The story follows "Moiraine, a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity."
