New Top Gun: Maverick Poster Revealed

Ahead of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker conquering the box office for the next month, Paramount's Top Gun: Maverick -- which is due out June 26, 2020 -- has revealed a new poster, and the news that a brand new trailer will drop on Monday, December 16.

The new trailer for the decades-later Top Gun sequel, which stars Tom Cruise reprising his role as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, will arrive online Monday at 5am PT/8am ET.

SNL: Baby Yoda Calls Out Baby Groot

This weekend's new Saturday Night Live, which featured host Scarlett Johansson saving the cast from a Thanos Snap, was blessed by an appearance by The Mandalorian's Baby Yoda during Weekend Update.

And by Baby Yoda, we mean SNL player Kyle Mooney in heavy prosthetics, surrounded by the now-famous floating crib pod.

SNL: Host Scarlett Johansson Saves the Cast from Thanos

"Am I going to have to save everyone? I left my Black Widow costume in the car."

Host Scarlett Johansson had her hands full during Saturday Night Live's opening monologue as SNL's cast members began turning into dust left and right.

"Oh no. It's Thanos," Johansson exclaimed. "But not from the last Avengers movie I did, the one before that," she clarified.

Yes, it was clearly an Infinity War scenario. Even cast member Beck Bennett joked about the overall relevance of doing the bit. "Is this like a backup monologue from the last time you hosted?" he asked, before getting erased.

MCU Star Says Guardians Vol. 3 Script is Best of the Trilogy

Though we're still a long way off from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 even beginning production, as it'll have to wait until director James Gunn is finished with The Suicide Squad, one of its stars recently said some very exciting and encouraging things about the screenplay.

Talking to THR, the MCU's Karen Gillan, who's played Nebula in the two Guardians movies and the last two Avengers films, shared about what she knows regarding Vol. 3's production, and her thoughts about the script.

American Gods: Orlando Jones Fired From Season 3

Starz' adaptation of Neil Gaiman's American Gods has had its share of troubles in the two short seasons its been on air, with showrunners changing hands many times and facing multiple delays. Now, in the lead-up to Season 3, actor Orlando Jones has been fired from the cast.

Jones, who played Mr. Nancy on the show, posted on Twitter recently as reported by TVLine, and delivered a video message to fans of the show in which he expressed his frustrations. Jones states that the new Season 3 showrunner, Charles “Chic” Eglee made the decision due to his character sending “the wrong message” to “black America.”

Pokemon Company Given Legal Permission to Pursue Sword and Shield Leakers

The Pokemon Company has been diligently searching for the individuals behind the Pokemon Sword and Shield leaks prior to its official release. Now, they've been given permission to pursue the individuals in question to the full extent of the law.

According to a report from Forbes, via Nintendo Everything, the Pokemon Company has begun a lawsuit against the individuals and is planning on issuing subpoenas against Discord and 4chan that would force them to come forward with information regarding the users behind the leaks.

Fortnite Star Wars Event Debuts New Clip, New Dialogue From Key Character

As advertised, the Star Wars event in Fortnite revealed a brand new clip from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker over at the Risky Reels location.

Players were raised into the air on a platform, and shortly after the Millenium Falcon could be seen flying around the map, while pursued by TIE fighters as Imperial star destroyers filled the sky. The Millennium Falcon landed shortly after, at which point Geoff Keighley introduced an in-game representation of The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams.

The clip itself shows Rey, Finn, Poe, along with BB-8 and C-3PO boarding an Imperial vessel of some sort in space, blasting their way through two unwitting stormtroopers. The crew makes their way through the vessel before being halted by two different stormtroopers, at which point Rey performs a classic Jedi mind trick on the pair.

The Grudge - January 3

Set in the United States, the new Grudge movie follows a detective (Andrea Riseborough) who investigates a serious of suspicious deaths all stemming from one house. The 2020 Grudge reboot also stars John Cho, Andrea Riseborough, Betty Gilpin, Lin Shaye and Demian Bichir. The Grudge hits theaters on January 3rd in the United States, January 9th in Australia and January 31st in the UK.

Resident Evil 2 Demo Now Features Resident Evil 3 Tease

With the official announcement of Resident Evil 3's remake arriving in early 2020, developer Capcom has updated the demo for Resident Evil 2 to include a small audible teaser for the upcoming game.

Last year's '1-Shot Demo' was released prior to Resident Evil 2 and gave players an opportunity to play through the opening sequence. The caveat, however, was that the demo only lasted for 30 minutes. After the in-game timer ran out, players were unable to play through the demo again. Now, the time limit has been lifted, allowing players to play through it multiple times, and also includes a reference to the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake. Originally spotted by a user named Lady Bow on Resetera, players can now hear RE3's infamous Nemesis enemy scream, "STAAARS" outside the Raccoon City Police Department's front gates.
