Fortnite World Champion Swatted on Stream

Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf, the 16-year-old Fortnite World Cup champion, was swatted yesterday while streaming on Twitch.

A clip of the stream shows Giersdorf abruptly exit the camera's view, indicating the moment his father alerted him to the armed police at the door. A subsequent clip captured the streamer's return and explanation of events: "Yeah, I got swatted... I was lucky because the one officer, he lives in our neighborhood... They come in with guns, bro. They literally pulled up."

No one was physically harmed during the incident.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Score to Include ‘Every Theme’

Composer John Williams' brother, Don Williams, has teased details about the soundtrack for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, saying that "every theme that you ever heard" will be present in the score for the final installment of the Skywalker saga.

The Academy of Scoring Arts hosted a "score study" to celebrate the legendary composer's musical score for 1993's Jurassic Park last week, wherein Don - who has long worked alongside John Williams - openly discussed his brother's long-spanning career and their latest collaboration on Episode IX.

Xbox First-Party Studios May Create Games For Other Consoles

One of Xbox's bosses has said there is potential for first-party studios to release games on non-Microsoft platforms.

Traditionally when a platform acquires a studio, it buys the rights to publish every future game on its own console. But Xbox seem to be toying with leniency; in an interview with Game Informer, Xbox's first-party studios boss Matt Booty said that Microsoft-owned developers like Double Fine and Obsidian might still be able to create games for rival platforms in the future.

He revealed Xbox would consider allowing studios to continue creating multiplatform games after being acquired, saying "I think that the question is less binary about, ‘should it be on Switch, should it be on PlayStation?’ and more, ‘does it make sense for the franchise?’

The MCU’s Infinity Saga Ranked

Even as Marvel Studios heads towards its group of Phase 4 films (and TV shows), which kicks off next year with the Black Widow solo movie, the end of an era is also upon us. With the release of Avengers: Endgame (and then the Phase 3 epilogue of sorts, Spider-Man: Far From Home), everything that began with the MCU in 2008’s Iron Man has come to a culmination. The Infinity Saga, as Phases 1-3 are now called, is over.

Which means, of course, it’s time to rank all 23 movies in those first three phases. While there are no bad Marvel Studios movies (yet!), some are truly great while others are just good or, dare we say it, only fine. But which are the best of the best MCU movies? And which are at the bottom of the list? IGN’s entertainment team voted, and these are the results...

4 Things Revealed by the FIFA 20 Beta Leaks

The FIFA 20 closed beta has begun, but early players have been quick to post images and video capture from the game online, revealing a variety of fun things that can be achieved in EA's latest entry in the long-running football franchise.

IGEA: Australian Ratings Guidelines Around Drug Use Are ‘Nonsensical’

Australia’s Interactive Games and Entertainment Association has spoken on DayZ’s classification drama down under, stating that the ratings guideline forbidding the use of “illicit or proscribed drugs” in a way that could be interpreted as an incentive or reward is “not representative of what a reasonable Australian would see as a reason to effectively ban a piece of creative content.”

The Australian Classification Board recently determined Bohemia Interactive’s DayZ (which has been playable as a standalone game since 2013) would be refused classification due to “illicit or proscribed drug use related to incentives or rewards,” a video game rating hurdle that has persisted in Australia despite the major reforms of 2013. The RC rating came after an unsuccessful application to rate the retail console version due out later this year. DayZ was already available digitally in Australia, rated MA15+ by the automated International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) classification tool used by the Australian Classification Board to ensure the tens of thousands of digital games released each year have some kind of classification advice.

An MMO Recruit vs. a High-Level Elder Scrolls Online Scalebreaker Dungeon

It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense why I never got into the MMORPG thing. Though my twisted gaming heart belongs to the shooter genre, I’ve loved many an RPG over the years. Deus Ex. Skyrim. Fallout: New Vegas. Even some buggier-than-Klendathu entries like the Gothic games.

The truth is, I temporarily lost a friend to World of Warcraft. By that I mean I saw an incredibly social guy – the kind of friend who was, ironically, on my case to be more social – become a next-level hermit. During the height of his WoW addiction, he once reluctantly sprinted downstairs in his undies to let me in because he was in the middle of some uninterruptable WoW thing and had to get back upstairs. This was very odd to the shooter guy whose multiplayer rounds lasted no more than half an hour and are very quittable.
