Splinter Cell Might Come Back in an Unexpected Way

Despite not having a mainline game in some time, Ubisoft hasn’t forgotten about Splinter Cell. Even Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot still talks about a possible return for Sam Fisher, but it might not be on a traditional video game platform.

Speaking with Chinese video game publication, Gamer Sky, Guillemot spoke briefly about a possible new Splinter Cell game. However, he stressed that any new Splinter Cell title from Ubisoft could be in the form of an experiment on different devices.

“On Splinter Cell there will be some new type of experiences, but more on different devices,” Guillemot said in a video interview. “So, we are working a lot on the brand today to come back at one point.”

FIFA 20 Will Be the Goofiest in the Franchise and I Can’t Wait

“As you can see, we’re not afraid to polarize fans,” said one FIFA team members as a dabbing unicorn tifo appeared in the stands of a customized stadium in FIFA Ultimate Team. Dabbing unicorns aren’t my aesthetic, but outlandish customization, new house rules (that can now be played online), and ridiculous trick shots in FIFA Volta all have me hyped for FIFA 20: a game that’s sure to be the goofiest entry in the series.

Sports sims aim to capture realism and FIFA 20 is no exception. In fact, the team watched real-life games and FIFA 19 matches side-by-side while brainstorming what changes needed to happen in FIFA 20. But the pursuit of realism isn’t stifling the team’s creativity when it comes to celebrating the sport and taking advantage of the medium: after all, FIFA 20 is still a video game.

Destroy All Humans! $400 Edition Comes With Alien That Rides Your Back

The Destroy All Humans! remake won’t hit Earth until sometime in 2020, but you can already prepare for it in style. The Destroy All Humans! Crypto-137 Edition includes not only a statue of the iconic murderous alien Crypto, but also a Crypto-shaped backpack that will ride on your back like some kind of extraterrestrial baby possum.

Publisher THQ Nordic didn’t provide exact dimensions of the backpack, but it’s huge enough to span from the top of an adult woman’s head all the way to her waist. The Crypto backpack has two straps that connect the hands with the feet, and the backside has a zipper that opens up Crypto’s back for storage space. All in all, it’s a pretty accurate approximation of Crypto, especially with that large alien head.

Minecraft Super Duper Graphics Pack Canceled

More than two years after it was announced, Minecraft's Super Duper Graphics Pack has officially been canceled.

The graphics pack "proved too technically demanding to implement as planned," according to developer Mojang. "We aren’t happy with how the pack performed across devices," it said. "For this reason, we're stopping development on the pack, and looking into other ways for you to experience Minecraft with a new look."

In addition to improving lighting and textures, the Super Duper Graphics Pack was expected to be released alongside 4K support for the Xbox One X and PC versions of Minecraft.

Which Totally Nonexistent Sequel Does the IGN Community Want Most?

For as long as there have been gamers, there has also been an unquenchable thirst for sequels to some of the best video games of all time. Sequels don’t always happen, though, what with studios moving on, losing key developers, or just needing to chase other trends. So we asked the IGN community what totally nonexistent (that we know of) sequel they want the most, and 30,046 of you answered.

Here are the results:

6th Place - Battlefield Bad Company 3

Votes: 2238

It seems like the clamoring for a third Bad Company game began almost immediately after the second one. Anywhere you find people complaining about the latest Battlefield game, you’ll find a handful of folks wishing for the return of this squad of lovable idiots. The original two games succeeded not just on the merits of EA DICE’s gameplay, but also the cornball writing and action movie heroism on display, something that’s been lost in more recent (and far more grim) Battlefield narratives.
