Netflix’s Haunting of Hill House Extended Director’s Cut Will Only Be Available on Blu-Ray

The Haunting of Hill House is coming to blu-ray, and it’ll be the only place to get an extended, director’s cut of the hit Netflix horror series.

Amblin’s Twitter account announced that the Haunting of Hill House is now available to pre-order online and announced that the home release will be an extended cut of the series. Hill House director Mike Flanagan confirmed the reports of a director’s cut on his own Twitter account.

“Well this news got out there a little earlier than we wanted… but yes, it’s true!” Flanagan wrote. “More details to come, but it was a blast restoring several episodes to their original form.”

Netflix Announces Elvis Animated Spy Series Agent King

On what is the 42nd anniversary of his death, Netflix announced Agent King, a new adult animated comedy series featuring Elvis Presley as a spy.

The late rocker's ex-wife Priscilla Presley will serve as series co-creator and executive producer.

Netflix issued the following plot synopsis for Agent King: “Elvis Presley trades in his white jumpsuit for a jet pack when he is covertly inducted into a secret government spy program to help battle the dark forces that threaten the country he loves — all while holding down his day job as the King Of Rock And Roll."

Nintendo Announces Indie World Video Showcase for Next Week

Nintendo has announced that it will be livestreaming its Indie World video showcase on August 19 which will feature "roughly 20 minutes of information on indie games coming to #NintendoSwitch!"

Revealed on Twitter, Nintendo's Indie World presentation will take place this Monday at 6am PT/9am ET/2pm BST and, as per usual, no further details were given on what to expect.

Protestors Call for Disney’s Mulan Boycott After Liu Yifei Supports Hong Kong Police

Liu Yifei, the Chinese-born actress who is set to star in Disney's upcoming live-action remake of Mulan, has voiced her support for the Hong Kong police amid ongoing protests, and now there are those who have begun calling for a boycott of Mulan as a result.

As reported by CNN, Yifei posted on Weibo, a social media platform in China similar to Twitter, saying "I support the Hong Kong police. You can all attack me now. What a shame for Hong Kong."

Her Story Creator’s Next Game, Telling Lies, Finally Gets a Release Date

Telling Lies, the follow-up video game from Her Story creator Sam Barlow, finally has a release date.

The new investigative thriller starring live-action actors will be coming to the PC, Mac, and iOS App Store on August 23. This is the second live-action game from Barlow following his award-winning mystery game, Her Story.

Telling Lies is set within a virtual laptop filled with footage from a stolen NSA database. Players interact with this laptop and uncover the story of four people over the course of two years. The characters players will investigate are played by Hollywood actors like Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus), Angela Sarafyan (Westworld), Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Dark Phoenix), and Kerry Bishé (Halt and Catch Fire).

First Look at Landmark Spawn #300 Cover Drawn by Todd McFarlane

Image Comics is preparing for a major milestone in September, as Todd McFarlane's long-running series Spawn reaches its 300th issue. This oversized anniversary issue features art from McFarlane and a host of other comic book superstars like Greg Capullo Jerome Opena, J. Scott Campbell and Jason Shawn Alexander.

While Image has shown off a number of variant covers for this issue, they haven't yet revealed McFarlane's main cover. Until now, that is. Check out our exclusive reveal of the main cover to Spawn #300:

Pokemon Teases Giant ‘Dynamax’ Cards for Sword and Shield Expansion

A new teaser trailer for new Pokemon cards debuted at the Pokemon World Championships 2019 in Washington, D.C., giving players their first look at what to expect from the new Sword and Shield expansion -- and it looks like something big is coming.

The trailer showed off “Pokemon V” as a new card type, although no details were given beyond the name and that Gen 8 legendaries Zacian and Zamazenta will have a Pokemon V card.

Their attacks were shown but other attributes like Energy cost, Resistance, Weakness and Retreat Cost were missing, as is typical for this kind of preview. Text at the bottom of the card reveals that Pokemon V will essentially be the successor to Pokemon GX -- powerful cards that give up two Prizes when knocked out.
