Ion Fury Devs Take Back Decision to Remove Homophobic Content

Update: In a new post on Steam from Terminx – lead developer on Ion Fury – a joint statement was shared from both Voidpoint and 3D Realms, stating they will not be removing any homophobic content from Ion Fury, counteracting what was vocalized previously after the developers made transphobic and sexist remarks in their Discord channel.

The statement can be read below:

"Joint statement from Voidpoint and 3D Realms:

We’ve caused a recent controversy suggesting Ion Fury game content was to be censored.

We will absolutely NOT be censoring Ion Fury or any of our other games, now or in the future, including but not limited to by removing gags such as gaming’s most controversial facial wash.

Next D&D Book Introducing New Class, Races and an Updated Alternate Setting

Wizards of the Coast, the publishers of Dungeons and Dragons, have revealed a new sourcebook coming this fall.

Eberron: Rising From the Last War offers players and dungeon masters alike new tools, lore, and character races, as well as a new class for D&D Fifth Edition: the Artificer.

Eberron: RFtLW explores an alternate setting to the "traditional" D&D world of The Forgotten Realms - where the majority of published adventures, as well as the D&D video games (like the upcoming Baldur's Gate 3) take place - in the warn-torn continent of Khorvaire. The world of Eberron was first introduced during D&D v3.5 in the early 2000s, providing a setting that resembled a steampunk aesthetic rather than classic high fantasy, and has only appeared in one officially-published supplement, the digital Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron back in 2018.

Gears 5 Horde Mode and Steam Version Revealed

The Gears 5 presentation at Microsoft’s Inside Xbox Gamescom showcase revealed a selection of new features, including the return of Horde mode and a Halo: Reach character pack.

Horde mode returns in a familiar guise with a few modern additions. Once again players will team up in squads to fend off waves of increasingly stronger enemies and bosses, but this time each player takes on the role of a unique character with Ultimate abilities. For example. JD can call in an airstrike, and Kait can use a cloak.

Together, the team can build defences, collect power, and level up skills to become a more effective force. Alongside classic hero characters, players can also play as Jack in Horde mode. The squad’s robot pal doesn’t require cover and can buff nearby allies or hack enemies. More characters will be added over time.

New Skybound Series ‘Heart Attack’ Explores Superhuman Teens in Revolt

Image Comics' Skybound Entertainment imprint has revealed a new YA series called Heart Attack. Created by writer Shawn Kittelsen (Mortal Kombat 11) and Eric Zawadzki (The Dregs), Heart Attack focuses on a pair of superhuman teens who band together and rebel against a government that wants to deny them basic human rights.

Heart Attack is set in a world where gene therapy has eliminated disease but also led to the rise of superhumans called Variants. The series focused on two teen Variants named Charlie North and Jill Kearney, as the duo go on the run and rebel against an oppressive government.

Check out a preview of Heart Attack below:

Unsurprisingly, the series is heavily inspired by current events. In Image's press release, Kittelson notes that the series has been in the planning stages since 2014, but has taken on new urgency in 2019.

6 Big Changes in Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s PVP

By Ubisoft’s own admission, Ghost War – Ghost Recon Wildlands’ PVP mode – was an afterthought, tacked onto the campaign rather than integrated from the start. In Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ghost War has been rebuilt from scratch alongside the rest of the game, taking onboard community feedback and lessons learned from Wildlands.

Ghost War is still the same 4-vs-4 game mode at heart, but from the three hours I’ve played it already feels more satisfying, with a number of key improvements combining to make it feel superior to Wildlands in every way.

Wildlands’ sprawling class system has been streamlined in favour of something simpler and more flexible. In Breakpoint there are four classes – Assault, Sharpshooter and Panther were available in the demo I played, plus Medic will also be available in the final game.

Get a First Look at DC’s NSFW Harley Quinn Animated Series

Harley Quinn is finally stepping out of the Joker's shadow for her own moment in the spotlight. Not only is Gotham's Queenpin of Crime front and center in Warner Bros.' upcoming Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on the big screen, she's also starring in her own adult animated series for DC Universe this October.

The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco is picking up the mallet and lending her voice to the small-screen version of Harley (as well as executive producing the series), while Alan Tudyk - fresh off his scene-stealing role as Mr. Nobody in DC Universe's critically-acclaimed Doom Patrol - is playing the Joker (and pulling double-duty as Clayface).
