Kerbal Creative Director Talks KSP 2, Community, and Rocket Engines That Shoot Nuclear Bombs
Kerbal Space Program is passionately loved by an incredible fanbase, with an extremely positive and supportive community, a rich mod scene, and cumulative explosions numbering in the billions.
We sat down with Nate Simpson, Creative Director at Star Theory Games, to talk about the recently announced Kerbal Space Program 2, the KSP community, and what fans can expect from the upcoming sequel.
They Want You to Keep Crashing and Burning
There's a fear the sequel to KSP could have a little too much polish, given the iterative design process of the original game. But Simpson said the Kerbals themselves help keep the game from going too far into the realm of straight simulation.

Spider-Man 3: Jon Watts Not Currently Attached to Next Sony Film
Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home director Jon Watts is not currently attached to direct the planned third Tom Holland Spider-Man film, according to a report from Deadline. This update comes after Deadline's initial report claimed both Watts and Tom Holland would be participating in two more Spider-Man movies that are in the works. IGN has reached out to Sony and Watts' teams for comments.
This news comes after the industry-shakeup that Spider-Man will no longer be a part of the MCU after Sony and Disney were unable to renegotiate their deal to share the character. The negotiations (or lack thereof) seemed to play out in realtime throughout Tuesday after Deadline broke its original report that talks had stalled between the two studios. The day ended with Sony releasing a statement on Spider-Man's MCU departure, referring to it as "Disney's decision."

Netflix in September: Disenchantment, a Between Two Ferns Movie, Sacha Baron Cohen as a Spy, and More
Netflix in September means an influx of films like 300, Dante's Peak, Mystic River, two installments from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and dozens of Netflix Originals - like a new Between Two Ferns movie, Ryan Murphy's new slice of satire, and a limited series starring Sacha Baron Cohen.
You can also catch the return of Elite, Jon Favreau's The Chef Show, Matt Groening's Disenchantment, and - yes - The Ranch.
More from the TV show front: The most recent seasons of The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Shameless, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, and Gotham (which also happens to be its final season).
It's not the most notable grouping of offerings, overall, but there's a Bill Gates documentary, a new animated series from Veep's Tony Hale, and a crime drama starring David Tennant and Hayley Atwell.
