Star Wars: The Emperor Is ‘Very Instrumental’ in The Rise of Skywalker

The Emperor is going to play a key figure in the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and his shadow looms large over the movie (especially if the new poster revealed at D23 Expo 2019 is any indication).

IGN caught up with the stars of the movie -- Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran -- following their D23 panel presentation to discuss why it was important the Emperor (or at least some version of) be resurrected for the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Animated Series Coming to Disney Channel

Disney has announced a new Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur animated series to air on the Disney Channel. The news came during the Disney Television Animation panel at D23 Expo.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur follows the adventures of 13-year-old genius Lunella Lafayette and her pet T-Rex. After Lunella accidentally creates a time vortex and drags Devil Dinosaur into modern-day New York, the duo become superheroes defending the Lower East Side from any and all threats.

The Breaking Bad Movie Has a Title and Netflix Premiere Date

The much-anticipated Breaking Bad movie has an official title and a release date. As revealed by the New York Times, the Breaking Bad movie will be titled El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, with the global release date set for Friday, Oct. 11 on Netflix.

Netflix also released an official synopsis for the film: "The Netflix Television Event EL CAMINO: A BREAKING BAD MOVIE reunites fans with Jesse Pinkman (Emmy-winner Aaron Paul).  In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future."

Holland, Feige on Spidey’s Future After Marvel-Sony Talks Collapse

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Spider-Man star Tom Holland addressed this week's Sony-Marvel breakup -- which will see the wall-crawler leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- in a new interview conducted at Disney's D23 Expo on Saturday.

“Basically, we’ve made five great movies,” Holland said in a chat with Entertainment Weekly. “It’s been five amazing years. I’ve had the time of my life. Who knows what the future holds? But all I know is that I’m going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life. It’s going to be so fun, however we choose to do it."

Star Wars: Dave Filoni Teases More Stories After Clone Wars

Animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars is getting a belated seventh season on Disney+. But while that's definitely good news for Star Wars fans, Lucasfilm Animation head Dave Filoni is making it clear that we shouldn't expect the series to continue beyond Season 7. The Clone Wars are ending, even if Ahsoka Tano's story isn't.

We spoke to Filoni at D23 Expo this weekend and asked how he felt about finally getting the chance to wrap up the series. "I love that I've gotten to finish it," Filoni said. "It means so much to me and the people making it. In some ways it's a very personal project, because  it's a show I worked on with George Lucas. The team and I that made it love that time in our lives that we got to be up at Skywalker Ranch making it. It's so special to us."

Hayley Atwell Shares if Captain America Told Peggy About Kissing Sharon

Hayley Atwell, who plays Peggy Carter in numerous Avengers projects, shared with IGN whether or not Chris Evans' Steve Rogers would have told her character about kissing Sharon Carter – Peggy's great-niece.

"Probably, in a very awkward way, that probably meant there was a domestic," Atwell explains. "Words were said, voices may have risen. Wouldn't that be hilarious? If they had a proper argument about it and she just slams the door and he goes off fishing for the weekend for something, I don't know," she says laughing.

Atwell continues, "Because it's the '40s I think it can have such a beautiful, wholesome, kind of screwball comedy tone to it, rather than a soap opera. Let's write it now, let's do it," she adds.

Star Wars: Rey’s Dark Side Transformation Completes ‘A Big Old Journey’

Disney revealed a critical new plot point for the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker at D23 Expo on Saturday. Alongside the debut of the film's latest poster, we saw new footage showing Rey succumbing to the Dark Side and wielding a double-bladed red lightsaber. And according to star Daisy Ridley, this unexpected transformation is all part of Rey's journey in the Star Wars saga.

"I think that it should hopefully show people that we did a big old journey and we explored some things," said Ridley after the Disney panel. "So just you wait until the film."

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Following Kathleen Kennedy's appearance during the D23 Expo Disney+ panel to announce an Obi-Wan Kenobi series, she returned for the films panel alongside J.J. Abrams, director of Rise of Skywalker, and most of the principal cast of the highly anticipated sequel. They brought with them a new look at the film, and the new Rise of Skywalker footage showed off a Dark Side Rey, or so it seems.

Frozen 2: New Characters and Footage Revealed at D23

Disney shed more light on the upcoming Frozen 2 at D23 Expo today. We learned that Evan Rachel Wood is voicing Anna and Elsa's mother, Queen Iduna, while Sterling K. Brown is voicing a character named Lieutenant Mattias.

Director Chris Buck took the stage at D23 to tease the plot of the sequel. He said Frozen 2 was inspired by fans asking why Elsa has ice powers and where they came from. Buck called the movie "an epic mystery."

Buck also said the movie revolves around "A past that wasn’t what it seems, a past that could threaten the future of Arendelle, a past that leads our gang to an enchanted forest. Powers that were once too strong for the world are not enough."

New Disney Animated Movie Raya and the Last Dragon Announced

Today during D23, Walt Disney Animation Studios announced Raya and the Last Dragon, a new movie coming Thanksgiving 2020.

Raya and the Last Dragon is described as an "epic fantasy adventure" centering around "Raya, a lone warrior on a quest to find the last dragon." The character is described as fearless and passionate, with a winning charm about her.

Cassie Steele (Rick and Morty's Tammy) voices Raya; the Last Dragon, Sisu, which also has a human form, is voiced by Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians).
