Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s New Battle System Is a Little Like Fallout’s VATS
Final Fantasy 7 Remake has a brand new combat system that’s a significant departure from the 1997 original’s Active Time Battle system. Of course it does, because we’re in 2019. As much as using that old-school turn-based mechanic continues to bring me joy two decades after I first used it, the remake needs to put a fresh spin on it. And, with a sigh of relief, it looks like we can say that the new system is taking Final Fantasy 7 Remake in the right direction.
The new system is a hybrid design, blending a Kingdom Hearts-like action approach with a modified version of the Active Time Battle mechanic. Playing as Cloud, you can swing the Buster Sword around as you would in a hack-n-slash, landing blow after blow. But, while that iconic sword may be a chunky lad, standard sword attacks are a slow way of killing enemies. That’s why you need to combine them with special abilities, which is where our old friend the ATB gauge comes in.

People Are Upset That Hawkeye’s Seemingly Been Left Out of the Avengers Again
You may have noticed that Marvel's Avengers just got revealed and dated. And then you may have noticed that Hawkeye was nowhere to be seen. People on the Internet, as you might expect, are upset about that.
The current Marvel's Avengers line-up seemingly consists of Captain America (who may or may not die/disappear), Thor, Iron Man, The Hulk and Black Widow. That's identical to the core Avengers from the MCU, with one notable, arrow-firing exception.
Some find it particularly galling because more or less exactly the same thing happened to him in Avengers: Infinity War. Here's a selection of reactions:
FIFA 20 VOLTA Is One Step Closer to Making the Franchise as Diverse as the Sport Itself
FIFA 20 is making many changes, taking the franchise in a more inclusive and interesting direction with FIFA VOLTA: its new street soccer mode.
It captures new styles of soccer with a few mode-exclusive skill moves like jumping off walls alongside more traditional ones. It even has four distinct modes within the VOLTA mode itself - World, Story Mode, League, and kick-off. There are also five different match configurations: 3v3 Rush, 4v4 Rush (No Goalies), 4v4, 5v5, and Professional Futsal. But all of that is just the beginning.

Announced alongside a new trailer, Oninaki is coming to PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Final Fantasy 8 Remastered Announced for This Year
Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will be headed to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC later this year.
The trailer finally confirms that the classic Final Fantasy game from 1999 will be making a return, joining Final Fantasy VII, IX, X, X-2, and XII on today's current consoles.
A few years ago, we ranked all the Final Fantasy games, and even though Final Fantasy VIII only made it to #11, we did say "The breathtaking opening sequence, the failed assassination plot on Sorceress Edea, and the battle between the Balamb and Galbadia Gardens are some of the most exciting and cinematic moments in all of Final Fantasy."

The release date for the FF7 Remake – which is March 3, 2020 – was announced in a trailer that was shown at a FF7 concert in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Outriders Is a New Co-op Shooter From the Bulletstorm Developer
People Can Fly, developer of Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment, has revealed Outriders, a 1-3 player, drop-in-drop-out third-person shooter. It will come to PC, PS4 and Xbox One in Summer 2020.
Revealed during Square Enix's E3 conference, Outriders will have players create their own character and set out across the ruined world of Enoch, in search of the source of a mysterious signal. Along the way, you will presumably be doing a lot of shooting - and you'll be able to do it entirely alone, with up to two friends, or a mixture of both.
Don't expect Bulletstorm's wackier sensibilities, however - People Can Fly makes clear that this is a "dark and desperate sci-fi universe", and the CG reveal trailer makes that clear.
