Assassin’s Creed Creator Still Plans to Make Amsterdam 1666

Assassin's Creed creator Patrice Desilets recently confirmed that he still plans on making Amsterdam 1666, a game that was originally started up at some point before 2012 under the now defunct THQ Montreal.

At Reboot Develop, VG247 asked Desilet if he plans on making Amsterdam 1666 at his studio, Panache Digital Games, that is currently working on a prehistoric survival game called Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.

Borderlands 2 Modder Discovers Rainbow Rarity Guns

A Borderlands modder has found code for a whole new loot tier in the recently applied 4K patch for Borderlands 2.

CaptainKoby_, creator of Borderlands 2’s Reborn mod pack, posted his findings on Twitter (via PCGamesN). The new Rainbow tier of rarity doesn’t appear to upgrade a weapon’s damage output, but seems to tweak the appearance of the gun.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Preview

If the first few hours of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey taught me anything, it’s that the fact humanity exists at all is basically a miracle. The third-person survival game from Panache Digital Games is set ten million years ago as you attempt to guide a clan of apes through survival in prehistoric Africa. The goal is to live long enough to pass knowledge down the generational line and recreate our evolution as a species. That’s a hell of a premise.

I was ready to birth civilization into existence as we know it. But fast forward to 45-minutes into my playthrough and the last fertile ape in my community has just bled to death in a soft bed of leaves – because I stupidly made him go to sleep with a gushing open wound – signaling the inevitable extinction of the clan and, with it, I guess, the human race. Sorry, everybody.

What Could Happen in Shazam 2, According to the Comics

Shazam! may have just hit theaters last week but plans for a sequel are already well underway with screenwriter Henry Gayden officially locked in to write the follow up, and director David F. Sandberg reportedly in talks to return as well. This isn't exactly surprising -- the way things were left in Shazam make it clear that Billy and his friends are anything but done with this whole superhero gig. And really, who could blame them?

But that leaves us wondering just what might happen in a second Shazam movie. Thankfully, the current comics have no shortage of clues.

Explore the Rock of Eternity's Magical Doors

We caught a tiny glimpse of what lay beyond the Rock of Eternity's main throne room as the kids all frantically tried to find an escape route -- and it was pretty weird: A full on M.C. Escher-style series of randomized doors, floating along different walls and stairwells, all just waiting to be opened.

Hellboy: Breaking Down How That Ending Could Set up a Sequel (Spoilers!)

With the Hellboy reboot now in its second weekend of release, let's explore how its ending sets up a sequel ... although judging from the movie's poor box office performance its opening weekend that now seems a remote possibility.

Full spoilers continue below for Hellboy! Check out IGN's review of Hellboy here.

The rebooted Hellboy may be pretty unfamiliar territory for fans of Del Toro's original duology -- not just because this new R-rated take on the character relishes in all the gore and profanity it can possibly fit into a 120-minute runtime, but because the ensemble cast around Hellboy himself has been dramatically shuffled around. Liz Sherman and Abe Sapien have been swapped out for Alice Monaghan and Ben Daimio -- at least, for now.
