The Rise and Fall (and Rise?) of the Hulk

Today we continue our look at each of the founding MCU Avengers and how their stories have led them to their final confrontation with Thanos. Next up is the Incredible Hulk himself and his journey to Avengers: Endgame.

Though it's often easy to forget, the Hulk is one of the oldest MCU heroes. Debuting only one month after Tony Stark, in the days when a Paramount logo preceded Iron Man, it seemed normal for Universal, the company that still holds certain cinematic rights to the character, to distribute a Hulk movie under the shared MCU banner. The Incredible Hulk didn't set the world on fire the way that the story of the retired arms dealer turned armored hero did, but it achieved another feat: It introduced Bruce Banner and the Hulk into the MCU canon. Eleven years later, Marvel's own muscly, green Jekyll and Hyde analog has gone from rogue loner to Avenger to champion of a galactic gladiatorial contest to the terrified herald of Thanos' arrival on Earth. And as we get ever closer to Endgame, it's time to look back at the rise and (literal) fall of the man who should have been able to beat the Mad Titan.

This Spider-Man PS4 Easter Egg Went Undiscovered for 8 Months

A developer who worked on Insomniac’s PS4 Spider-Man game has revealed an Easter egg that has passed people by since the game was released in September last year: Jewish characters in the open world don’t work on Saturdays.

Developer Elan Ruskin, a senior engine programmer at Insomniac, revealed the fact over the Easter weekend (via GamesRadar), which he noted was the perfect time to reveal a hidden detail.

Nvidia Launches New GTX 16-Series GPUs for Desktop and Mobile

Today Nvidia is unveiling new 16-series GPUs for both desktop and mobile, which is the first time the company has rolled out the same GPU for both platforms simultaneously (as far as I can recall). On the desktop side it is launching what is likely the final Turing desktop model in its product stack, the $149 GTX 1650 (review coming soon). On the mobile side it's unveiling the first non-RTX GPUs, and in traditional Nvidia fashion the mobile chips have the same name as their desktop counterparts (GTX 1660 Ti, GTX 1650). All of this new hardware should be available immediately, so this is a "hard launch" as they say.

Baby Turing Arrives

The desktop-based GeForce GTX 1650 uses an all-new GPU dubbed TU117, and it has less RAM and a narrower memory bus than the GTX 1660 and 1660 Ti. Though this GPU shares all the same architectural advances of the previous Turing GPUs, it is the most affordable yet at $149. Here's how all the low-to-midrange Turing cards stack up on the spec chart:

Avengers: Endgame First Reactions Twitter Roundup

Certain members of the press had the chance to attend an early screening of Avengers: Endgame. Their reactions are officially in, and it’s looking good for the latest outing of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Reactions to the twenty-second installment in the MCU are largely positive, heaping praise upon what most consider to be a more than worthy culmination of what has come before. Many noted it’s a very different film from Infinity War, and others suggested it’s best for viewers to watch the rest of the MCU in preparation. We’re in the Endgame now.

Cinema Blend’s Eric Eisenberg said Endgame is "everything you want it to be and more,” calling the film a "perfect reflection on the last 11 years that pays off everything in the best way possible. Without question my new favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Stunned."
