Smash Bros. Fans Think the Game’s Single-Player Will Be About Saving Luigi’s Soul

During Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct last week, we saw Luigi kick the bucket, and now fans are speculating that it ties in to the game's unannounced single-player campaign.

Luigi's untimely death played out before our very eyes in the last week, but Nintendo has assured fans that the plumber is alive and well, despite his soul being cleaved from his body by the spectre of Castlevania's Death. But Luigi's apparent demise has led fans to believe the game's unannounced single-player mode will see players rescue characters who have had their souls taken.

DC Writer Debuts a Different Kind of Comic Book Experience

DC Comics writer Steve Orlando may be known for his work on Justice League of America, Supergirl and Midnighter, but at this year’s Flamecon in New York City he’ll be debuting something a tad different: an original scriptbook for The Liberator. You’ve never heard of The Liberator before, and that’s on purpose. It’s become a common practice for writers to print out copies of their scripts for Marvel and DC comics, staple them together, and then sell them at conventions, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at how tales featuring their favorite superheroes are crafted. But what Orlando wants to do is create something a bit more special. The Liberator features an original story that hasn’t already been published as a comic, and Olrando is having it professionally printed and bound in a scriptbook. The goal was to create something unique for comic fans presented in a high quality format.

Box of Original 1999 Pokemon Cards Sells for $56,000

An unopened box of pristine condition 20 year-old Pokemon booster packs was recently auctioned off for $56,000 USD (approximately £40,000 / $94,500 AUD).

The cards are one of a limited run of the first edition English base set booster boxes, reports Kotaku AU. With an opening bid of $20,000, the offers soon escalated, in no small part due to the fact that there's a fair chance it might contain a first edition holographic Charizard, which Kotaku AU reports sold for over $55,000 USD on eBay last year.

The pristine condition box sold via Huggins & Scott Auctions last week after 82 bids were made, and drew to a close as four bidders battled it out for ownership, according to Ludkins Collectables.

Ewan McGregor Says There Are ‘No Plans’ For an Obi-Wan Movie Starring Him

Ewan McGregor has once again said that he'd like to return to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi, but says he knows of no plans to make a spin-off film starring the character - despite earlier reports.

Speaking on The View, the actor said: "I would totally do it, of course. There's no plans, as such, to do it as far as I know."

Reports earlier this year suggested an Obi-Wan movie was in the works, set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, with Obi-Wan in exile on Tatooine. That could make Obi-Wan significantly older than McGregor, which could account for why McGregor's heard nothing.

Though we may get another tease or two in the weeks to come, the launch trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man is likely our last big look at the upcoming PS4 exclusive. And though it largely touches on scenes and themes we’ve seen before, could its structure be hinting at a much larger, playable role for one of its main supporting characters?

Insomniac Games revealed Miles Morales would appear in its Spider-Man adventure back at E3 2017, with a quick tease of Peter Parker-as-Spidey swinging over his head. But since then, we’ve gotten even more Miles.
