Total War: Three Kingdoms Is the Most Hero-Focused Total War Ever
The moon casts a surreal, blue glow over the battlefield. The scions of the powerful Sun clan, Sun Ren and Sun Quan, are ill at ease. Their misgivings are proven warranted when the orange glow of paper lanterns floating above the trees signals an ambush from the nearby woods, catching the small army they are leading off-guard. I have little time to take stock of my forces and choose whether to stand and fight, or sacrifice some of my troops in a delaying action so the rest can make it to an extraction point on the far side of a nearby river.
The grand-scale, historical Total War series has been looking for new ways to reinvent itself each outing for the better part of the last 20 years, and Three Kingdoms attacks this objective from more angles than simply moving the setting to 200s CE China. As the ambush battle I commanded aptly demonstrated, this is a tale all about characters – even more so than the hero-centric Total War: Warhammer games.

Spider-Man on PS4: New Powers and Costumes Miles Morales Could Offer
Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 revealed a new gameplay launch trailer that featured Spider-Man interacting quite a bit with Miles Morales. Even though Miles appears to be a mere civilian in the world of this video game, in the comics he’s a fully fledged superhero who also fights crime as Spider-Man. While the game developers have been tight-lipped on the role Miles plays in the game, we’re speculating he'll wind up getting powers and that he could even become a playable character, either as part of the story or in post-game DLC. That’s especially exciting because Miles has different powers and costumes than Peter Parker, meaning he would offer a new gameplay experience.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts Announced
The next game in the Sniper series has been announced, and will take franchise in a "new direction."
CI Games has announced Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts, which will shake up the series' gameplay with the new contracts system that "delivers tense, mission-based scenarios with CI Games’ best sniping ever," according to the announcement.
The single-player contract missions give players a main objective as well as optional secondary objectives that offer bonus payouts. The replayable contracts offer different approaches to get the job done, giving players the opportunity to hop back in to earn more rewards and try out different strategies.
We awarded the last game in the series, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 a 5.5, criticising technical issues and a lack of replayability - both of which CI is openly attempting to improve upon.
Little Nightmares Sells 1 Million Copies
Horror-adventure Little Nightmares has crept up on a major milestone, hitting one million copies sold less than a year and a half after release.
Bandai Namco and Tarsier Studios announced the news that Little Nightmares had gone platinum today. "We’re very proud that our first original game sold so well, it’s well beyond what we ever expected," said Andreas Johnsson, CEO at Tarsier Studios.
"Little Nightmares is after all part of an indie game landscape, and the fact that one million players have played our game is wonderful. This achievement is a milestone for both Tarsier Studios and Little Nightmares. To have created an original game that becomes as successful is proof that the new direction for the studio was the right choice, and that feels great.”

Halo: Infinite Is Definitely Halo 6, Not a Spinoff or Prequel
343 Industries has assured fans that Halo: Infinite can be considered 'Halo 6', rather than a prequel or spinoff that the non-numbered title may suggest.
343's Jeff Easterling confirmed that the upcoming Halo: Infinite is indeed the next main instalment in the series, despite not being a numbered entry. "It is Halo 6. You should just consider it Halo 6," Easterling said during a Mixer Stream, via GameSpot (at the 1:22:20 mark).
James Gunn Won’t Be Back for Guardians of the Galaxy 3
After a meeting between James Gunn and Disney studio chairman Alan Horn, it appears that Marvel and Disney will not be reinstating Gunn as director of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
As reported by Variety, "Gunn and his UTA reps pushed hard for him to be given a second chance, and Horn decided to take a courtesy meeting on Tuesday."
The meeting was said to be "civil and professional," but sources have claimed that Horn will not be changing his stance and they will continue production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 without James.
Every Spider-Man Movie Spin-Off in Development
Spider-Man is one of the few Marvel heroes with a supporting cast and rogues gallery wide enough to support an entire cinematic universe. And that's exactly what Sony is trying to launch. Tom Holland's Spider-Man is back to being both a Marvel Studios and Sony character (after a short parting of the ways with the Marvel Cinematic Universe), but Sony is still drawing from its universe of Marvel Characters, pulling from all corners of the Spider-Man franchise in order to create new movies starring characters like Venom, Morbius and Black Cat.
