Get an Exclusive Sneak Peek at Marvel’s Black Panther Animated Series

At last year's San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Animation revealed that Season 5 of its popular Avengers Assemble series would be titled Marvel's Avengers: Black Panther's Quest. Set after the events of Season 4's Secret Wars storyline, Black Panther's Quest will focus on the adventures of T'Challa as he wrestles with the responsibility of being King of Wakanda and an Avenger.

IGN has an exclusive first look at the new season ahead of this year's "Marvel Animation Presents" Comic-Con panel, which will feature voice actors James Mathis III (T’Challa) and Daisy Lightfoot (Shuri) discussing what viewers can look forward to when the show premieres on Disney XD this fall. The panel will take place Sunday, July 22 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Room 6A. Fans can also catch the actors during a signing at the Marvel booth from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Sea of Thieves Update Adds Three-Player and AI-Controlled Ship Types

Sea of Thieves owners on both Xbox One and PC will get a free content update called Cursed Sails on July 31, Microsoft announced today.

Cursed Sails includes a new Skeleton Ship AI enemy and the Brigantine Ship which is designed for crews of three players. Additionally, the update will let players form alliances with each other to help take on bigger challenges resulting in greater rewards. Microsoft says Cursed Sails will be Sea of Thieves' biggest update yet.

A limited-time campaign will deliver the new content, which will then be permanently available to all players, regardless of whether or not they played the limited-time event. The three-week campaign will have skeleton ships terrorizing outposts and challenging pirates to battle on the open seas. Players will also be able to take on an optional sidequest to discover the source of the skeleton ships.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole Bring the Crunch DLC Release Date Announced

South Park: The Fractured But Whole's next DLC, Bring the Crunch, is coming out at the end of July, and Nintendo Switch fans won't have to wait long for its predecessor, The Stick of Truth.

Ubisoft announced the add-on content will be released on July 31 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It'll be priced at $12 USD.

Bring the Crunch will add a new story campaign alongside the “Final Girl” superhero class. The story follows you and the rest of Coon & Friends trying to save the Lake Tardicaca summer camp whose counselors have gone missing. Meanwhile, your newest buddy Mint-Berry Crunch, aka Bradley Biggle, aka Gok-zarah, has just arrived from his home planet of Kokujon.

Netflix Reveals Movie and TV Projects Based on Mark Millar Comics

Netflix has announced the first slate of film and TV projects based on the stories of Mark Millar, including Empress, Huck, Sharkey The Bounty Hunter, Jupiter's Legacy and American Jesus.

The films and TV series that will appear on Netflix span his material, from the space drama of Empress to the multigenerational superheroes of Jupiter's Legacy. There will also be completely new stories that will be adapted to comics later, the first of which is Sharkey The Bounty Hunter.

Empress, originally published by Marvel, is being adapted into a film. In it, Queen Emporia is married to Kig Morax, the worst dictator in the galaxy, and escapes the palace with her children, hiding from her husband and his army at all costs. Lindsey Beer is adapting the comic into a feature film, with Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum as producers.

Marvel and IDW Announce Comic Book Collaboration for Young Readers

Marvel Entertainment and IDW Publishing announced Tuesday a partnership to develop middle-grade comic books for young readers.

The comics will feature popular Marvel characters such as Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Hulk, and Shuri. The first launch will be in November 2018 with a kick off of a Spider-Man series, followed by an Avengers series at the beginning of December and a Black Panther series in January 2019.

In a statement about the collaboration, editor-in-chief of Marvel, C.B. Cebulski said that Marvel is excited to work with IDW to bring brand-new stories to their younger fans.

Why Batwoman Creates New Problems for the Arrowverse

Update: And now it is being reported that a Batwoman series is in development at The CW in addition to the planned crossover featuring the character. Read on for our thoughts on how this could create problems for the Arrowverse.

From the very beginning, one of the biggest questions surrounding Arrow and its various spinoffs has been whether Batman exists in this version of the DC Universe. There's been an increasing amount of evidence over the years, but confirmation finally arrived with the news that the next Arrowverse crossover will introduce both Gotham City and Batwoman. We still may not actually see Batman on these shows, but at this point there's little doubt he exists in the Arrowverse.

Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles Series Will Premiere on Hulu

The Vampire Chronicles, an upcoming TV series based on 11 of Anne Rice's vampire novels, will premier on Hulu.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Hulu managed to come out on top in a competitive situation to become the home of the series. Vampire Chronicles will stand alongside other Hulu exclusive shows, including The Handmaid's Tale, Marvel's Runaways and the upcoming Catch-22.

The television rights to the franchise were optioned by Paramount and Anonymous Content last year, and it was announced in January that Bryan Fuller joined the project as showrunner, but left the project soon after. Fuller reportedly stepped down from the project to avoid stepping on the toes of Anne Rice, a longtime friend of his, and her son Christopher Rice, who wrote the show's original script.

Batwoman Series in Development at CW

A Batwoman TV series is in development at CW, according to Variety. If the series gets picked up, the new DC show would debut in 2019.

CW announced in May that Batwoman would appear in the annual crossover event between four DC shows on the network, the Arrowverse, including The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl.

The series features the character of Kate Kane, a young woman with a passion for social justice and highly trained in street fighting. She is the first openly gay DC Superhero, adding to CW's emphasis of inclusion on its network.
