The Dark Knight 10th Anniversary Gets Special 70MM IMAX Release
To commemorate the 10-year anniversary of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, Warner Bros. is bringing it to IMAX screens for one week only.
The Dark Knight will be screened across four select IMAX theatres in LA, New York, San Francisco and Toronto, with the aim to showcase its utilization of IMAX 70mm film and massive scale. Four of The Dark Knight's major sequences were shot with IMAX cameras, including the Joker's opening bank robbery, and Nolan has gone on to use IMAX cameras in his subsequent films.
Warner Bros. says the IMAX screening is intended to give the public a look at The Dark Knight as it was meant to be seen. Tickets for the opening day go on sale this Friday, July 20th. Showtimes are currently only announced for August 24th, but subsequent screening dates will be announced closer to release.

WarioWare Gold is a Mixtape of Nintendo’s Most Bizarre Ideas
For the past two decades, the WarioWare series has been Nintendo's excuse to let its developers run wild and design some of its weirdest and creative concepts, and WarioWare Gold is no exception. Featuring a solid mix of over 300 new and returning microgames, WarioWare Gold is like a mixtape that showcases some of Nintendo's most inventive yet extremely bizarre ideas, and it's all held together by an even crazier story.
Along with the help of friends, Wario is out to make his fortune by setting up his own video game competition, which is fitting for a game that's all about playing through a seemingly endless amount of lightening-fast experiences. Each of Wario's friends offers their own set of microgames, each of which ends with a slightly longer, more challenging boss stage. While I didn't get a chance to play through all 300 microgames, I can say that the 30 or so I played were incredibly fun and unique.
Marvel Digital Originals Kicks Off With New Jessica Jones Series
Marvel Comics are kicking off a new digital comics line called Marvel Digital Originals that will feature characters that are currently making a splash on television.
“There’s a huge audience out there -- not just on the Netflix front but on ABC, Freeform, Hulu, etc. -- that experience these characters digitally,” Marvel editor Nick Lowe told IGN over email. “In fact, it was hard not to notice when characters like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist were some of our biggest sellers in the digital marketplace. That was the inspiration for the Kaare Andrews/Afu Chan’s Iron Fists digital strategy and this next big step for us.”
The first new title to debut under the MDO label is Jessica Jones by writer Kelly Thompson (Hawkeye) and artist Mattia de Lulis (Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor), available for purchase online today. “Kelly was actually suggested by Brian Michael Bendis, co-creator of Jessica, when he was wrapping the previous volume because he was impressed by her depiction of Jessica in Hawkeye. And Mattia de Iulis had the slick neo-noir vibe the team was looking for,” Lowe said.

Konami Shuts Down P.T. PC Remake, Offers Developer an Internship
A fan project to bring the famously-deleted P.T. to PC has been forced into cancellation by Konami, but the developer of the remake has been offered an internship at the company.
Hideo Kojima's cancelled Silent Hills teaser has had a number of remakes, but a recent example, 'PT for PC' by 17 year-old developer Qimsar, was looking pretty impressive - and close to being finished.
Unfortunately the project has been shut down by Konami due to "legal issues", but in an update, Qimsar says that he has been offered an internship at the publisher, working with its EU, US and Japanese offices. On top of the internship, Konami is hooking up Qimsar with some merch and video games.
How The Clone Wars Could Hint at the Future of the Star Wars Franchise
“I need someone to show me my place in all of this,” Rey begs Luke Skywalker shortly after meeting him in The Last Jedi - and her quest for meaning, for belonging, forms the much of the narrative engine for Disney's current extension of the Star Wars saga. That hero's journey - from being "nobody" to being somebody who can make a difference - has been in Star Wars' DNA from the start, reflected in everything from A New Hope to The Clone Wars series - and embracing that quality could be the key to the franchise's future.
Rey is an outsider by design (it’s telling that J.J. Abrams chose to introduce her as a purposefully isolated character, severed from the narrative threads of the Skywalker family in The Force Awakens) and while fans are still debating whether her parents are truly nobodies from nowhere, as The Last Jedi states, the notion that one gifted but lowly hero could change the course of the galaxy harkens right back to George Lucas' original 1977 film, when Luke's father wasn't secretly Darth Vader and his tragic descent into darkness wasn't the catalyst for an entirely separate trilogy of movies.
How Octopath Traveler Became Such A Big Hit
How well can a game that looks like it came from the SNES era sell in 2018? Well, it's been less than a week since the release of Octopath Traveler and even Square Enix didn't know how wildly popular it would become. Physical copies have already sold out in most stores around the world, and in the UK it's currently ranking third on the national sales charts.
It's not very often that a JRPG makes a dent on the national sales charts and reaches mainstream success. The last game to do so was highly modernized Persona 5 on PS4, which placed second on US NPD sales charts within the first week of its release. So why is Octopath Traveler, a JRPG that looks like it came straight out of the SNES era selling so well in 2018? Well, here's what Director Keisuke Miyauchi had to say in Nintendo's latest blog post about what went into making sure that Octopath Traveler would appeal to all players.

The PS4 brought in 38% of its sales, a 6% decrease from last year, and the Switch brought in 5% of its sales. The report also revealed that North America is Ubisoft's largest market, accounting for 45% of its sales, with Europe at 35% and all other regions at 20%.
