LEGO Teasing James Bond Sets
LEGO may be adding James Bond to its stable of pop-culture brands.
The official LEGO Twitter account was joined by the James Bond and Aston Martin accounts in a back and forth that suggests that 007 might be making an appearance in his own LEGO set some time soon, with his iconic British car to boot.
We’ve been thinking about creating a special Secret (Service) model that could help an agent out in a tricky situation. Any ideas? @astonmartin #LicenceToBuild
PUBG Devs Defend Use of Store-Bought Assets for Maps
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' developer is defending its use of store-bought assets, denying that the Erangel map is an "asset flip."
Engines such as Unreal - which PUBG uses - often include a store of pre-made assets that developers can buy and use in their game, and a PUBG subreddit post has pointed to specific store-bought assets used in Erangel.
Some players went on to bemoan the fact the the studio isn't creating all of its own assets, while others took it further, suggesting that the entire game is an "asset flip."
Beyond Good and Evil 2 Aiming For a Beta By Late 2019
Ubisoft is aiming to release a Beyond Good and Evil 2 beta by late 2019 according to creator Michel Ancel.
In an Instagram post of a screenshot from the game, Ancel responded to a user comment asking for a release date, saying, "We aim for a playable beta for the end of next year":
Given that Ubisoft's betas tend to take place months in advance of release, that almost certainly places a release date, at the very earliest, at some point in 2020.
Sea of Thieves Sold More Than Microsoft Expected
Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 exceeded internal sales expectations at Microsoft, even though both are available on the subscription service Xbox Game Pass.
Xbox head Phil Spencer discussed their success on Giant Bomb, stating that Sea of Thieves sold "significantly more" than Microsoft projected. "On those two games
, we sold more copies of those games than we expected," Spencer said in the interview.
Rare producer Joe Neate shared similar information about Sea of Thieves with US Gamer as well. "... We had a target to hit by the end of June, which we hit in day one of sales," he said. Neate believes Game Pass and Mixer contributed to the success of the multiplayer-centric game.
Resident Evil 2 Remake Still Has 2 Campaigns, But They’re a Little Different
Resident Evil 2's campaigns will be streamlined in the remake to avoid a "sense of repetition."
The original Resident Evil 2's campaign is getting pared down for the 2019 version to make it more appealing for "players today," says producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi.
Hirabayashi touched on how the original's four different scenarios (Leon A/Claire B and Claire A/Leon B) have become two more straightforward campaigns in an interview with Rely on Horror.
"One of the great things about the original was this sort of two character system where you could get a different perspective on events. Either as Leon the rookie cop, or Claire as a student—the ‘zapping’ system as it was known where there was A parts and B parts to each character.

Octopath Traveler Won’t Get DLC Because It’s a ‘Complete Game’
Octopath Traveler has no planned DLC because the title is a 'complete game,' says producer Masashi Takahashi.
Square Enix's Octopath Traveler for Nintendo Switch won't be getting any DLC because it will release as a fully complete game, says the studio.
"We haven’t even thought of having DLC," producer Masashi Takahashi said in an interview with Dengeki Online (via Siliconera). "The retail version is a complete game.”

George Lucas’ Star Wars Episodes 7-9 Would Have Explored Midi-Chlorians and the “Microbiotic World”
Back in 2012, if George Lucas hadn't sold Lucasfilm for over $4 Billion, he would have created a third Star Wars trilogy focusing on midi-chlorians and the "microbiotic world."
Speaking to filmmaker James Cameron for the second episode of his six-part AMC series, "James Cameron's Story of Science Fiction," Lucas went more in-depth about what the future of Star Wars would have looked like were he still in charge.
