New Book in Lord of the Rings Universe Coming This Year

A new The Lord the Rings book The Fall of Gondolin, edited by J.R.R. Tolkien’s son Christopher Tolkien, will be released later this year.

Per The Guardian, The Fall of Gondolin is said to be “the first real story” of Middle-earth and it's coming out in August. The story was written by Tolkien while he was in the hospital, and follows the evil Morgoth battling the sea-god Ulmo.

Morgoth is trying to discover and destroy the hidden city of Gondolin, while Ulmo is supporting the elves – the Noldor – who reside in it. One of the elves, Tuor, is the main protagonist who sets out to find Gondolin and meets the sea-god Ulmo along the way.

Update: Apple Officially Orders TV Series Based on Asimov’s Foundation Novels

Update: Apple has officially ordered a TV adaptation of Isaac Asimov's seminal sci-fi epic Foundation.

David S. Goyer known for The Dark Night and Batman Begins, along with Josh Friedman know for Avatar 4 and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, will serve as showrunners and executive produce as well.

Robyn Asimov will also executive produce, alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross. A premiere date for the series has not yet been announced.

The original story, set across a thousand years, follows a band of exiles who must save the Galactic Empire from destruction by defying it.

Original Story: Apple and The Dark Knight screenwriter David S. Goyer are adapting Isaac Asimov's seminal sci-fi novel trilogy Foundation.

Deadpool Star Arrested for Calling in a Fake Bomb Threat

On March 18, Deadpool and Silicon Valley star T.J. Miller called 911 while riding on an Amtrak train from Washington D.C. to New York City claiming that a woman had a bomb in her bag. These reports were false.

According to TMZ, Miller was apprehended by FBI agents on Monday at LaGuardia Airport for "intentionally conveying to law enforcement false information about an explosive device on a train traveling to Connecticut." The comedian was coming back to the U.S. after doing some shows in Canada.

From an FBI document, it was reported that Miller was intoxicated, consuming 2 glasses of wine and 2 double Scotch and sodas. The woman he was accusing said Miller was "loud and belligerent," and even made a comment about her hair.

Fortnite Getting New Port-a-Fort Defense Item

Epic Games has revealed a new item that will be added to Fortnite.

It's a cube-shaped defense item called Port-a-Fort that, when thrown, spawns a massive fort mid-battle that players can use to their tactical advantage. For a sneak peek at the item in action, check out the reveal trailer below:

There's no word yet on exactly when Port-a-Fort will be added to Fortnite. Right now, Epic has only said it's "coming soon."

Fortnite is now available on mobile to all iOS users with a compatible device. In less than a month, the free-to-play game reportedly made over $15 million on the App Store.

Harry Potter Play Now Broadway’s Top-Grossing of All Time

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has broke a major Broadway box office record, and it doesn't officially open until April 22.

Entertainment Weekly reports the show became the top-grossing play in Broadway history. It has the highest single-week gross for a non-musical in its third week of previews, and has made over $2.1 million for the week ending April 8.

The previous record holder is the LBJ drama All the Way starring Bryan Cranston, which made over $1.6 million in June 2014.

The Cursed Child is the followup to Rowling's seven-novel series, picking up nineteen years after the conclusion of The Deathly Hallows.

Yo-Kai Watch 4 Announced for Nintendo Switch

Yo-Kai Watch 4 has been announced for Nintendo Switch.

According to Ryokutya2089 (via Gematsu), Yo-Kai Watch 4 will be released for Nintendo's handheld/console hybrid in Japan later this year.

Akihiro Hino, the CEO and president of Level-5, said Yo-Kai Watch 4 will have "mechanics that surprise everyone" and feature "super extremely enhanced" content. Last month, Hino said "basically" all of Level-5's future main will be released for Switch.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 Get Release Date

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 will be released in July.

As detailed in a post on Capcom-Unity, the collections will be released digitally on July 24 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch for $20 USD each.

Fans can also purchase a $40 USD retail bundle that includes both collections. The bundle will come with two discs on Xbox One and PS4, and a cartridge with the first collection and a digital download voucher for the second collection on Switch.

The first Mega Man X Legacy Collection features Mega Man X, X2, X3, and X4, while Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 includes Mega Man X5, X6, X7, and X8. These updated releases provide optional smoothing, CRT filters, widescreen modes, and the original resolutions for the games as well. The 3D models for Mega Man X7 and X8 have also been improved visually.
