Carrion Might Be the Grossest Game in Development Right Now

Carrion might be one of the most gruesome games in development right now.

The self-described "reverse horror game" puts you in control of an amorphous alien blob apparently bent on destruction, and as you can see in a recent gameplay video, it is grotesquely mesmerizing.

Watch the bloody teaser trailer for Carrion below:

In the pre-alpha gameplay video, the player-controlled red alien blob can be seen using its long tendrils to crawl through a grungy lab and tear its human inhabitants apart. It's even seen destroying a weaponized security drone of some kind.

A skill upgrade screen shows off early level abilities like grabbing and throwing, dashing, which allows you to crash through vents and wooden barriers, and split, which lets you split up into two separate organisms. The split ability can be seen about 3 minutes in, when the player uses it to operate two switches at once in order to open a door.

Though the movie's already shot, there's currently no word yet on when and how it'll be released. Wiseau is also set to reunite with his The Room co-star Greg Sestero in the two-volume road trip adventure, Best F(r)iends. The first volume will be playing in theaters on March 30 and April 2.

2018 Oscars Were Least-Watched in Ceremony History

26.5 million people tuned in for the 90th annual Academy Awards, marking an all-time low for the Oscars.

The nearly four-hour ceremony saw a 19 percent drop in viewership compared to last year, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and brought in five million less viewers than 2008's previous low mark of 31.8 million. The Oscars garnered over 40 million viewers as recently as 2014, when Ellen DeGeneres hosted the show.

Declining viewership is not exclusive to the Oscars, however. Other major network TV events in 2018, including the Super Bowl, Olympics, and Grammys, also saw decreased viewership compared to previous years.
