Fortnite's limited-time Blitz mode went live this week, and Epic has released an update to make building resources less plentiful.

Resources gained from looting and farming were reduced with yesterday's hotfix.

"Having tons of resources is a blast, and our goal with the mode was to make it easier to gain resources due to the storm moving in so much faster," Epic said in the announcement on Reddit.

"We believe that our initial resource numbers were a bit too abundant, and are making this adjustment to ensure there is still some risk/reward when farming in Blitz."

PlayStation 4 Was February 2018’s Top-Selling Console

Sony took the top spot in console sales for February 2018, and Monster Hunter World was the best selling game for the month.

Overall hardware spending was up 55% over the same period last year, something the NPD group attributes to "growth in Switch and Xbox One sales." Nintendo Switch's pace shows no sign of slowing down, with the system reaching the "highest installed base for a console platform" ever.

Dollar sales remained flat compared to February 2017. Switch software helped keep the number stable, offsetting "declines across all other platforms."

Overall spending on hardware, software, and accessories is up 23% over last February, attributed largely to hardware, but also in the "Accessories and Gamecard" category of spending which includes controllers. The PS4 black DualShock is the best-selling accessory of 2018 so far.
