Why Everyone’s Watching ER on Hulu Instead of New TV
ER wasn't the only medical drama to premiere in the fall of 1994. It wasn't even the only medical drama set in Chicago to premiere that year. But it's easily one of the best television series ever produced, and its pilot should be taught to anyone who wants to tell stories for a living, regardless of the format. The show gave us a world you could truly sink into every week.
All 331 episodes of ER are finally streaming on Hulu, and the difference between it and its descendants is striking if you happen to segue directly into another show. Perhaps the most jarring experience is going from the ER pilot to Fox's recently premiered The Resident, an endpoint to the genre's evolution that began with ER.
The Thirteenth Doctor Makes Her Comic Debut in Titan Comics’ New Series
Doctor Who's is returning this fall, and Jodie Whittaker's Doctor will be getting her own comic series launching alongside the TV show.
Jody Houser will be writing the new series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Houser has also written for the Orphan Black comics, DC's Mother Panic, and the comic book adaptation of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Rachel Scott, who has worked on Titan's previous Doctor Who comics, will illustrate, and Enrica Angiolini will be the colourist.
Jodie Whitaker is joined by her companions; Law & Order: UK's Bradley Walsh; Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Tosin Cole; and Mandip Gill. Sharon D. Clarke has also been cast in a recurring role.
The Best Budget Gaming Keyboard
Note that if you click on one of these links to buy the product, IGN may get a share of the sale. For more, read our Terms of Use.
The best cheap gaming keyboard is the Corsair K55 (See it on Amazon / Amazon UK). It has all the features you want in a gaming keyboard: solid build quality, nifty lighting, and a low cost. We crowned the Corsair K55 the King of the cheap gaming keyboards after thoroughly testing and reviewing a variety of the top models in this class of hardware. It's not a keyboard with mechanical switches, but you're not going to find any of those in the "budget" realm, as those darn switches inevitably raise the price far beyond what we consider affordable (around $50). These days keyboard manufacturers offer both mechanical switch keyboards for the well-heeled, and membrane switch models for those who are saving up their money to buy a GPU, and the good news for gamers is these keyboards share a lot of the same features, aside from the switches of course.

DC Collectibles are releasing a new line of action figures based on characters appearing in Doomsday Clock, which is the sequel to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ classic Watchmen where characters from that story travel to the DC Universe and butt heads with Batman and other familiar DC faces.
Warning: before you check out the goods, know that the characters included could be seen as a spoiler for what happens in Doomsday Clock.
The lineup features Dr. Manhattan, Ozymandias, Rorschach, and the Comedian, as well as Mime and Marionette, two new additions to the Watchmen universe co-created by Doomsday Clock writer Geoff Johns and artist Gary Frank. Check them out by clicking through the slideshow gallery below.
Beyonce, Elton John Recording New Song for Lion King Remake
Sir Elton John will be recording a new song with Beyonce for the upcoming The Lion King live-action remake.
The Sun reports John will be returning to the studio with Tim Rice to record songs from the original film, including Hakuna Matata and Circle of Life. However John and Rice, who together composed the soundtrack for the 1994 animated classic, will be teaming up with Beyonce for one new end credits song.
“They need to have a new end credits song," John said. "There’s going to be four of our songs in the film, from the original: 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight?,' 'Hakuna Matata,' 'I Just Can’t Wait To Be King,' and 'Circle of Life.' And then there will be an end, closing song, and we’ve been speaking to Beyonce’s people and hopefully Tim and I and her can cook up something."
LEGO Unveils New Sets for Avengers: Infinity War

The Brothers Brick reports that each of the six sets comes with an Infinity Gem, while the Thanos: Ultimate Battle set features a mounted Infinity Gauntlet, with slots for five additional stones.
CHECK OUT ALL OF THE LEGO SETS BELOW.
Some of them depict scenes from the film and while LEGO sets don't necessarily align with events in the films that their toys accompany, it's worth nothing that poring over the pictures might give away spoilers for the film.
Marvel’s Black Panther Makes an Appearance at New York Fashion Week With the Welcome to Wakanda Show
New York Fashion Week is nearing an end, and amidst the big names synonymous with the event was Marvel Studios, with its 'Welcome to Wakanda' show.
The show features a number of designs inspired by the costumes in Marvel's latest movie. Marvel commissioned seven designers and two "veteran" hair and makeup artists to bring Wakanda to life, Vanity Fair reports.
The featured designers were Cushnie Et Ochs, Ikiré Jones, Tome, Sophie Theallet, Fear of God, Chromat, and Laquan Smith. Rodney Cutler and Nick Barose were tasked with hair and makeup. Barose has previously worked with Black Panther's Lupita Nyong’o.
Ash of Gods Is Like The Banner Saga Mixed With a Classic Adventure Game
Ash of Gods, an upcoming turn-based tactical RPG from Aurum Dust, clearly wears its inspiration on its sleeve. Scrolling past screenshots it’s perfectly natural to think it’s a spinoff or sequel to The Banner Saga, but it’s actually got nothing to do with Stoic Studio’s viking adventure. In fact, Ash of Gods’ dark and desperate medieval world has more in common with the Dark Ages than any other era.
I recently got my hands on a brief hour-long demo build and played through the tutorial, two more fights, and a handful of dialog scenes and choice-driven area exploration. It’s hard to really pin a specific genre to Ash of Gods due to how nuanced its systems can be.
At the start of my demo I learn of an ancient war between a group of immortals and a strange, powerful group of beastly enemies. At the climax of the battle most of the human-looking characters begin to glow and sacrifice themselves – turning to stone – to banish the evil forces. The game picks up 2,000 years later, with you controlling one of the immortals that was wounded in the fight and never sacrificed himself.
How to Make a Duke Nukem Movie Work
Here's what we know: John Cena is in negotiations to star in a movie adaptation of Duke Nukem. The project currently sits at Paramount and Platinum Dunes, a mid-size studio known for franchise horror and the most recent live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films. With no director or writer attached, it’s unclear whether Duke Nukem will even go ahead. But if it does, it faces sizeable creative hurdles.
For one thing, Duke Nukem isn’t exactly current. The franchise's tortured last outing, 2011's Duke Nukem Forever, suffered from an overwhelming negative response. Even the series’ high point, Duke Nukem 3D, is mostly remembered for its gameplay and level design - hardly useful for cinematic adaptation. The games’ narratives center around bog-standard alien invasions, and somehow their central character is even less substantial.
