Jumanji Becomes One of 2017’s Top-Grossing Films

After finally reaching the No. 1 spot at the box office in its third weekend in theaters, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has become one of 2017's most successful films domestically, and an impressive performer overseas, too.

The Jumanji sequel's chart-topping box office weekend — in which the film overtook Star Wars: The Last Jedi's run atop the weekly box office — pushed it to nearly $245 million domestically in total. That makes Welcome to the Jungle 2017's ninth most successful film, overtaking Justice League (which currently sits at about $227 million domestically) and pushing Logan out of 2017's top 10 grossing domestic films. The film spent two weekends at No. 2 before beating Insidious: The Last Key and reigning box office champ The Last Jedi this past weekend.

However, it seems likely this repackaged version would bundle the base game with all of FFXV's post-launch content, which includes the Gladiolus, Prompto and Ignis story episodes, and the Comrades multiplayer DLC.

But who is this magical powerhouse, and how do Shazam and his powers fit into the larger DC Universe? Read on to learn everything you need to know about Shazam.

Shazam Explained: The Basics

Shazam is proof that the superhero business doesn't need to be reserved for adults. Young Billy Batson is an orphan who caught the eye of a powerful but aging wizard who granted him amazing magical abilities and tasked him with defending the Rock of Eternity (an enchanted place at the nexus of space and time). Whenever Billy utters the word "Shazam!", he transforms into a powerful hero with abilities to rival those of Superman himself.
