Tarantino Wants An R-Rated Star Trek Movie
Following reports earlier this week that Quentin Tarantino has pitched an idea for a Star Trek movie to JJ Abrams, developments are rattling along at some speed, with Deadline indicating that Tarantino has already met with a writers' room in preparation for directing a new installment, with Abrams producing.
A key requirement from Tarantino is that he's allowed to make the movie with an R rating and this has apparently been agreed by Paramount execs, despite the previous three films in the rebooted series coming in at PG-13.
Details on From Software Mystery Title ‘in the Next 12 Months’
Following a teaser trailer debuting at The Game Awards 2017, From Software has provided a window in which gamers can expect more details on the mystery title - promising only that there will be information to come "in the next 12 months":
Speculation is rife over what the project may actually be, with some wondering whether it could be a sequel to Bloodborne and others placing bets that it's something entirely new; we're not even sure whether "Shadows Die Twice" is intended to be teaser text or an actual title announcement.
More details to follow in the next 12 months. We hope you look forward to it! https://t.co/YvshapWDYl

A Way Out Dev on EA: ‘All Publishers F*** Up Sometimes’
Josef Fares, creator of A Way Out and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, went off-script during his The Game Awards appearance, briefly addressing his relationship with EA and the controversy surrounding the company's recent microtransaction decisions.
Fares made it clear how much A Way Out is the game he wanted to make, unrestricted by publisher hindrances.
"This is my idea, doesn't have anything with the EA shit going on, with the loot box and stuff," Fares said, specifically in regard to the idea of giving players the chance to play A Way Out online with a friend with only one copy of the game.
"EA has been very good to me, and to be honest with you, because it's nice to hate EA...All publishers f*** up sometimes, that's how it is," he said. "In this case, they've been treating me very well. I have 100 percent of the income to my team for the game."
GTFO Announced
A four-player co-op game called GTFO was announced at The Game Awards.
After the trailer reveal, GTFO developer Ulf Andersson said the first-person shooter has an emphasis on teamwork and puzzle solving.
Players are tasked with scavenging for artifacts in an underground complex that's filled with monsters. GTFO is coming to PC in 2018.
Bayonetta 3, Witchfire, Soul Caliber 6, and In the Valley of the Gods were also announced at The Game Awards.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will come out of Early Access and launch 1.0 on December 20.
Also announced at The Game Awards, the new desert map is available now on test servers for PUBG, with it heading to Xbox One early next year.
New cosmetics will be available in PUBG after its official launch. PUBG Corp. recently clarified these future loot boxes won't have any items that affect gameplay. PUBG is also getting two mobile game siblings, Army Attack and Battlefield, which are being developed by different studios.
New Death Stranding Trailer Debuted
Hideo Kojima and Norman Reedus showed off a new Death Stranding trailer at The Game Awards 2017.
The 8-minute video focuses on the character portrayed by Reedus in Death Stranding. But this time, he's in a sci-fi locale instead of a modern war or deserted beach.
Now Reedus isn't the only Hollywood star to show up in the game. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actor Mads Mikkelsen and director Guillermo del Toro will also appear in Death Stranding.
Earlier this year, Kojima talked to IGN about the game, explaining why Death Stranding won't be a horror title.
Witchfire Announced
The team behind The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, The Astronauts, are working on a dark fantasy shooter called Witchfire.
See the announcement trailer from The Game Awards below.
The announcement didn't reveal which systems Witchfire is in development for or a release window. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was originally released on PC in 2014 and then on PlayStation 4 nearly a year later.
Bayonetta 3, the World War Z game, and Soul Calibur 6 were also announced at The Game Awards.
