Pokemon Go: Shiny Pikachu and Raichu Appear in Japan
Pokemon Go appears to have gotten its latest shiny monsters in the form of Pikachu and Raichu.
As reported by Comicbook.com, Niantic hadn't announced the addition of the rarer form of Pikachu (which comes in a darker shade of yellow, and has a special "shiny" animation), but those attending the Pikachu Outbreak events in Japan have been able to capture them.
New DuckTales will Include a Darkwing Duck Crossover
It looks like Darkwing Duck himself will be showing up in the new DuckTales animated series.
SlashFilm reports DuckTales' co-producer and story editor Francisco Angones revealed concept art of the character and his signature motorcycle during a Comic-Con 2017 panel, confirming he'll make an appearance in the series.
Darkwing Duck.
The Darkwing Duck series released a few years after DuckTales, and it follows the titular anthropomorphic duck as he battles crime. Art for other well known characters from the show, including Magica De Spell, Megavolt, Quackerjack, and Ratcatcher was also shown off during the same Comic-Con panel.
How to Kill a Dragon in Game of Thrones
Warning: beware spoilers for Game of Thrones: “The Spoils of War”!
The latest Game of Thrones episode “The Spoils of War” featured a surprise attack on the Lannister army as the Dothraki charged on horseback and Daenerys Targaryen flew in on her largest dragon, Drogon. As dragonfire bombing runs lit up the battlefield (and dozens of Lannister soldiers), it looked like it would be an easy victory -- until Bronn manned Maester Qyburn’s scorpion (aka ballista, aka huge freakin’ crossbow) and managed to land a shot in Drogon’s shoulder. That was enough to ground the great beast, but it wasn’t even close to a lethal blow, which begs the question, how do you kill a dragon?
How Will Ray Palmer’s return Affect Justice League of America
DC's Justice League of America comic has been at the forefront of the ongoing Rebirth conflict. The series spun directly out of the events of Justice League vs. Suicide Squad earlier this year. And with the latest storyline, "Panic in the Microverse," JLA will tackle one of the biggest loose ends from last year's DC Universe Rebirth #1 - the disappearance of original Atom Ray Palmer.
We recently had the chance to chat on the phone with writer Steve Orlando and learn more about why Ray Palmer's return is such a big deal for the JLA and the DCU as a whole. As he explains, "Panic in the Multiverse" will work hand in hand with stories like Dark Nights: Metal and Doomsday Clock to redefine the very nature of the DCU. Orlando also teased what to expect from the recently announced sequel to the current Batman/The Shadow crossover. Scroll down to find out what he had to say.

Despicable Me Now the Highest-Grossing Animated Film Franchise Worldwide
Illumination’s Despicable Me franchise has edged past DreamWorks Animation’s series of Shrek films (including Puss In Boots) to become the highest-grossing animated franchise of all time worldwide. According to Deadline, Despicable Me 3’s latest international weekend gross has nudged the series to a worldwide total of USD$3.528B across the three Despicable Me films, plus Minions. The global box office figures for the four Shrek movies and Puss In Boots reportedly sits at USD$3.51B.
Animated by Paris-based Illumination Mac Guff, the Despicable Me series was an immediate hit from the release of the highly-successful first film in 2010. It was followed by a sequel in 2013 and the lucrative Minions spin-off in 2015. Minions would go on to outperform the Despicable Me films and is the second highest-grossing animated film of all-time (behind Frozen). It’s also the most profitable film in Universal’s history.
Dota 2 Card Game Artifact Announced
Artifact, a new Dota 2-based card game was announced today by Valve at TI7.
A brief teaser trailer was released for the game ahead of its 2018 launch. Watch it below:
As reported by Polygon, Artifact differs from traditional card games in that it involves three boards. While Valve didn't share too many details about the game, it appears to feature a number of elements from the studio's popular MOBA, including creeps, barrack building and multi-lane strategies. Naturally, a selection of characters from Dota 2 will be featured as well.
Artifact will almost assuredly be compared to Blizzard's wildly popular card game Hearthstone, a new expansion for which launches later this week.
