World of Tanks Rolls Out Console-Exclusive Solo Campaigns
Back in the winter of 2014, Word of Tanks rolled onto the Xbox 360, inviting console gamers to partake in the series' previously PC-exclusive brand of massively multiplayer competitive armored warfare. The jump to Microsoft's platform proved so popular, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the free-to-play tank battler soon followed.
Still, despite many a tank commander being made from behind a gamepad, console fans—accustomed to having a side of solo play with their PvP—wanted more than World of Tanks' competitive skirmishes could offer.
According to Wargaming Chicago-Baltimore's Creative Director and Executive Producer TJ Wagner, his team began noticing this craving when console players were spending tons of time in the sparse PvE bot-based missions the studio had introduced a year ago. “We saw that people really had an appetite for single-player or co-op content...they were playing through them an insane number of times.”
Game of Thrones: Longclaw Theory Shot Down by Director
Warning: Full spoilers for all of Game of Thrones up through the episode "Beyond the Wall."
A "blink and you'll miss it" moment from this past weekend's episode of Game of Thrones: Season 7's penultimate episode set the Internet aflame with speculation. In fact, it was a blink that set theorists off: it appeared as though the wolf handle on Jon Snow's Valyrian steel sword, Longclaw (of House Mormont), blinked right when he escaped from the freezing cold lake. In an episode full of stunning visual effects, this supposed Easter egg seemed to slip past most viewers.
LEGO Reveals Upcoming Star Wars Set Is Biggest Ever
LEGO has been teasing a mysterious new Star Wars set that will be the company's biggest ever for about a month now, and although it has yet to say exactly what the set is, fans have begun to suspect it may be an updated version of an out-of-print LEGO model.
The trail of clues started on August 1 when LEGO's Twitter account teased a unnamed set it claimed would be 4.86 times bigger than its 1,686 piece London Bus build. Two weeks later, the account revealed the set would be Star Wars themed, and included a short teaser video.
And then today, the account tweeted one more teaser, this time an image of the pieces in the set. The image shows two massive piles of gray and beige blocks, which LEGO again stated are part of the biggest build ever, clocking in at 7,541 pieces.

Linksys Announces New Router That Prioritize Games
At Gamescom today Linksys announced the WRT32X, a new router that the company is calling “the first true gaming router.”
Developed in collaboration with Rivet Networks, it takes advantage of Rivet’s “Killer Networking Prioritization Engine,” which can prioritize gaming over whatever else is using internet bandwidth on your network.
That means if you’re maxing out your internet, things like downloads and streaming will automatically slow down to let gaming go faster. However this will only work with “Killer-enabled” PCs, not consoles or mobile gaming.

After years of annual installments, Ubisoft decided not to release a new Assassin’s Creed game in 2016 (give or take an Ezio Trilogy). The company realized gamers had lost their zeal for the franchise, and decided to build a new installment from the ground up, with hopes of improving what had grown rusty. The result is Assassin’s Creed Origins, a much more open and fresh-feeling game you’ll be able to play on PS4, Xbox One, and PC when it launches on September 27, 2017.
Limited Edition Gran Turismo Sport PS4 Revealed
A limited edition Gran Turismo Sport PlayStation 4 console is being released to coincide with the new game’s launch later this year.
The U.K., Europe and Australia will be able to purchase a limited edition 1TB slim console and controller, as revealed on the European PlayStation Blog. This reveal comes after a mysterious tease Sony released yesterday promising "something new," which set the internet into full speculation overdrive.
Game of Thrones: Season 7 Finale Title Revealed
HBO has revealed the title and episode length for Game of Thrones' upcoming Season 7 finale.
The episode is called “The Dragon and the Wolf,” which might be in reference to Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow and their growing partnership. This title makes especially good sense considering the aftermath of the most recent episode, "Beyond the Wall."
The finale's total running time is 79 minutes, 43 seconds, easily making it the longest episode in the series to date.
"Beyond the Wall" held the record for the lengthiest episode for a while, as it's 70 minutes long. It eclipsed the Season 6 finale, "The Winds of Winter," which has a runtime of 68 minutes.
Call of Duty: WW2 Multiplayer Beta Gives That Old Familiar Feeling
How do you react to the following statement:
Playing Call of Duty: World War II’s multiplayer beta feels like a modernized version of Call of Duty 2.
As someone who’s played every entry in the series since its PC debut, I mean it as a very strong compliment. But I also recognize that fans of the more recent, ultra-sci-fi Call of Duty games where jetpacking, wallrunning, and high-speed motion define the combat might be turned off by the deliberate downshift in gears that Call of Duty’s return to World War II represents.
Being back in the 1940’s European Theater of WWII means your boots, as Activision and Sledgehammer have repeatedly reminded everyone, will stay planted firmly on the ground. No player-drivable vehicles are in sight, but the familiar “PWING!” of an M1 Garand rifle firing and the staccato bullet-spray of a Grease Gun took me back to the Call of Duty 2 days in the very best of ways.
