The Evil Within 2 Feels Familiar, But That’s a Good Thing
At an early point during my hour-long demo of The Evil Within 2, returning protagonist Sebastian ran into a room full of swinging bodies, their bleeding faces obscured by white masks. There was a weird red symbol painted onto one of its concrete walls. A camera on a tripod was the only other object of note, so I looked through it. Suddenly, I saw a door. Had looking at the camera made it appear? I was disorientated. Then a multi-headed, nude monster with a buzz-saw for a hand burst through the wall and screamed her way towards me.
Oh yeah, this was The Evil Within, all right.
My time with the Evil Within 2 showed that while improvements have been made to the formula, it fundamentally remains the same. Sebastian is still a sort of stiff, bewildered protagonist, the monsters are still pulled from the golden era of Japanese horror, and the world is as grimy and oppressive as some of the darker moments of Jacob’s Ladder, a source of inspiration for original Evil Within director Shinji Mikami. But of course, that combination of quirks made the original game so much fun in the first place.
Joker and Harley Quinn ‘Criminal Love Story’ Movie Revealed
Jared Leto and Margot Robbie will reprise their Suicide Squad roles in an as-of-yet unnamed movie.
According to Variety, Warner Bros. is in "final negotiations" with Glenn Ficarra and John Requa to direct the film. The movie is a stand-alone story not affiliated with the recently announced Joker origin-story movie reportedly being produced by film legend Martin Scorcese.
The Tracking Board reports the Joker and Harley Quinn movie will come after Suicide Squad 2, pushing back the planned Gotham City Sirens movie.
Live-Action DC Series Titans Has Its Starfire
Titans, an upcoming live-action dramatic series based on characters from the DC Universe, has cast an actress in the role of Starfire. That actress is Anna Diop, who prior to this was likely best known for playing Nicole Carter on 24: Legacy.
While Starfire is not as well-known as DC characters such as Batman or Aquaman, she will certainly be familiar to anybody who watched Teen Titans or Cartoon Network's Teen Titans Go!. Starfire is an alien from the planet Tamaran who can fly and shoot green energy bolts from her eyes. Her portrayal in Titans is intended to be serious and no-nonsense, which is certainly different from her portrayal in Teen Titans Go! where she is all nonsense.
Hideo Kojima Praises Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk
Game industry legend Hideo Kojima has sung the praises of Christopher Nolan's latest box office hit Dunkirk.
Kojima penned an article for Rolling Stone in which he compares Nolan's latest film to his own works and talks about how both make great efforts to convincingly depict war. In his collum, the Death Stranding creator explains why he believes "Dunkirk gave birth to a new kind of war movie."
"By refusing to rely on computer graphics, opting instead to create life-size sets and employ a large cast of extras, Christopher Nolan recreated the war movie construct," Kojima wrote.
KFC’s New VR Training Is Job Simulator Meets Saw
Would you like to play a game? How about a game that doubles as a way to learn the ins-and-outs of working in the kitchen of a KFC? One that teaches you to pick out only the choicest cuts of chicken, bread them, fry them, and then live another day, finding a new appreciation for simple pleasures, like the laughter of a child?
If so, you should definitely check out the training game KFC has developed to teach employees to never again take for granted the feel of the warm April sun on their faces.
It's equal parts BioShock, Saw, and alt-comedy absurdity. It definitely makes frying chicken seem like a life or death struggle, but it doesn't look like there's any way to unlock the secret of the 11 original herbs and spices. Maybe they're holding that for the sequel, KFC VR Training 2: Flesh & Blood.

An eight-day, 254-episode South Park marathon will air on Comedy Central beginning September 6.

The new season of South Park premieres Wednesday, September 13, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. While you wait, check out IGN's South Park: Season 20 review, or read how the long-running series changed the way one IGN editor thought about cartoons.
The Batman Director Said His Film Isn’t Part of the DCEU
Comments made by The Batman director Matt Reeves in July have resurfaced where he said Warner Bros. informed him at the time he was joining the project that The Batman "isn’t part of the [DC} extended universe."
Reeves told journalist Kim Masters of this on her July 17th podcast The Business, but reddit users have only just discovered his comments and helped spread them online. It should be noted this podcast was recorded prior to Warner Bros.' San Diego Comic-Con presentation where they officially announced (most) of their upcoming DC films slate, including The Batman, and obviously well before yesterday's news that a separate DC Films imprint is in the works for standalone DC movies.
9 One-Off DC Movies We’re Dying to See
The word on the street is that Joker is getting his own live-action DC movie, one that won't take place in the DC Extended Universe or feature Jared Leto's Clown Prince of Crime. Even more intriguing is the fact that the Joker movie is reportedly the first in a new series of standalone, one-off DC movies that will tackle characters in new and unexpected ways.
There's a lot of potential in a continuity-light imprint of DC movies, one that focuses on telling great stories that don't necessarily fit into the larger DCEU. And naturally, there are plenty of existing DC stories that would make great fodder for the one-off treatment. Here are nine DC movies we'd love to see after Joker kicks off this new imprint.

The much-loved Carcassonne has been a feature of hobbyists’ collections and family homes for almost 20 years. The sheer amount of expansions, mini-expansions and stand-alone games can take over your shelves just as easily as the game takes over your table.
An attempt was made in 2014 to tidy up the product line when new publisher Z-Man Games released a new edition of Carcassonne with updated artwork. This tidy up is still ongoing, and as a result it has made the product line a bit of a mess thanks to a mismatch of artwork between various editions. Expansions are slowly being re-released back into the world, so ultimately Carcassonne will feature variety of easy-to-track, numbered expansions. But in the meantime, it can be hard to keep up with what's new, what's old, and that's been re-released. To simplify matters, here’s a guide to everything that you can buy at the moment:
