Spider-Man and Deadpool: Friends No More
Spider-Man and Deadpool won’t be on good terms in Marvel's Legacy relaunch, but they are getting a new creative team! At the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends panel at SDCC today, Marvel announced that writer Robbie Thompson and artist Chris Bachalo will be the new creative team on Spider-Man vs. Deadpool.
As you may have noticed, that is a slight name change for the book formerly known as Spider-Man/Deadpool. This appears to play into the idea that Deadpool is revisiting his villainous roots in Marvel Legacy, as also seen with the re-branding of his own title as "The Despicable Deadpool." Also at the panel, it was revealed that Spider-Man vs. Deadpool will have interlude issues with flash-forwards of Peter Parker and Wade Wilson as old men living in a retirement home.

Are the Terrifics DC’s Fantastic Four?
The Dark Multiverse is coming to the DC Universe, and Batman is the one who opened the door that may doom the Earth.
At the DC Dark Nights: Metal and Dark Matter panel at SDCC today, DC revealed the designs for six of the seven evil Batmen who will debut in a series of one-shots starting in November. As explained by Scott Snyder, the Dark multiverse is fluid and always changing. These Batmen are essentially nightmare what if scenarios for Bruce Wayne that incorporate aspects of other DC heroes and at least one villain. Without any further ado, behold The Murder Machine, The Red Death, The Devastator, The Merciless, The Drowned, and The Dawnbreaker.
Preacher: We’ve Seen Herr Starr’s AMAZING Introduction
At the panel for Preacher today at San Diego Comic-Con, a sequence was shown that introduces one of the comic book’s most infamous (and popular) villains, Herr Starr – and looked like it was spot on in terms of the tone and depiction of the character.
Preacher executive producer Seth Rogen noted that the next episode, following a tease earlier, “introduces the Grail more thoroughly.” The Grail is a religiously inclined organization and through them we’ll meet Herr Starr, who Rogen noted, “Is one of the most powerful men on the planet. In the comic, he’s one of the best characters.”
The sequence shown followed Starr (played by Pip Torrens) as one of many candidates/recruits trying to join The Grail – as we see him as one of many men lined up, naked initially, in front of those who will judge them. But Starr stands out immediately with his bald head, dead eye and two nipple rings connected by a chain.
Iron Fist Season 2 Announced

As reported by Variety, Raven Metzner (Sleepy Hollow, Falling Skies) will serve as showrunner for Season 2, taking over for Scott Buck, who, after working on Season 1, is now the showrunner on Marvel's Inhumans.
This isn't the first time Metzner has worked on a Marvel project, as he was a writer on the 2005 Elektra movie.
Original story: During today's The Defenders panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel announced that a second season of Iron First is happening.
New Sonic Comic Book Partnership Announced
Sonic the Hedgehog has found a new home at comics publisher IDW Publishing, SEGA has announced.
While creative teams are currently in being assembled, a new chapter in Sonic's story is said to begin sometime in 2018.
"We've been speaking with beloved Sonic fan-favorite creators and new creators alike, and are excited to be able to spread specifics about our plans for the comic in the near future," IDW chief creative officer Chris Ryall said.
News of this partnership comes shortly after SEGA's announcement of the end of its 24-year publishing deal with Archie Comics. According to a statement released by the company, the termination of its partnership with Archie "signifies SEGA of America's decision to take a different direction for the series."
How Are Batman and Hawkman Connected in Dark Nights: Metal?
DC's epic crossover event Dark Nights: Metal is kicking off next month, and that story has been a major focus at Comic-Con this week. We had the chance to chat with writer Scott Snyder on the show floor today, and Snyder revealed some juicy new details about the Dark Knights and the ties he's building between Batman and Hawkman.
Snyder reiterated the point that while Metal is an extension of his long Batman saga, it's also a story about the Justice League as a whole. Snyder said, "I started thinking about it - what if I developed this mystery that Batman and then the Justice League start following. Because it's really a Justice League story even more than a Batman story. It becomes the first mystery that Batman just does not want to solve, because it all seems to point back to him in a way that's terrifying to him. So it's almost like the first detective case he doesn't want to solve."
Walking Dead S8 Promo: Is This a Fantasy or a Time-Jump?
AMC released a new trailer for the forthcoming eighth season of The Walking Dead today at their San Diego Comic-Con panel.
While the trailer itself showcased a lot of action ahead in Season 8, it was the vignette at the very end of the SDCC trailer -- starting at around the 4:40 mark here -- that got our gears turning and might hint at a major time-jump for the characters that also happened in the comics. Or, for the show, maybe it's all just a fantasy.
SPOILERS ahead for both Walking Dead the show and the comic!
There's a shot of the handle of a cane followed by a shot of flowers in a vase in the foreground with a blurry man resting in the background. The third and final shot is a close-up of a bare-chested Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) waking up in bed.
Captain America Hits the Road After Secret Empire
Today at Comic-Con International, Marvel writer Mark Waid announced his return to Captain America alongside artist Chris Samnee.
The news broke near the end of Marvel’s Secret Empire panel, and Waid was very reluctant to share specifics. However, he did say that Steve Rogers is Captain America again, and his costume appeared to be the classic Cap outfit. Waid noted that Steve Rogers has been the “couch-surfer of the Marvel Universe,” and he’s hitting the road for a trip across America to reconnect with the public after the events of Secret Empire.
