New Poster for Marvel’s Black Panther Revealed
This weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios released a new poster for Black Panther.
Check out the stunning art below, which shows T'Challa standing atop a panther statue as he looks out over Wakanda, along with the tagline: "Long live the king."
Marvel screened brand-new footage from the film for Comic-Con attendees yesterday. Check out our overview of the Black Panther footage, which featured a sequence set in South Korea and showcased transforming costumes.
The X-Files Audio Drama is a Different Take on the Characters
David Duchovny came to San Diego Comic-Con to promote a new audiobook, The X-Files: Cold Cases, available now from digital bookseller Audible.
Set soon after the 2008 feature film The X-Files: I Want to Believe, Cold Cases was adapted by Dirk Maggs from the IDW comic book series The X-Files: Season 10, written by Joe Harris. The story begins with Agents Mulder and Scully living together in the witness protection program and under assumed names. Drawn back into their work with the X-Files, they are soon reunited with old friends and foes, including Walter Skinner, Cigarette Smoking Man, and the Lone Gunmen. Although Duchovny was the only actor in attendance, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund and Bruce Harwood all portray their iconic characters for the project.
Black Panther Footage Revealed Costume, Villain Details
Marvel Studios screened never-before-seen footage exclusively for San Diego Comic-Con attendees at their Black Panther presentation Saturday.
The footage shown was from a sequence set in South Korea. The whole thing had a very James Bond vibe to it as we saw T'Challa, along with Nakia and Okoye, in formal, but civilian attire at a casino shadowing arms dealer Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis, reprising his role from Avengers: Age of Ultron). Martin Freeman's Civil War character, government agent Everett K. Ross, is also there and has a scene with Klaue.
Ross teases Klaue for arriving with such a large group. “You’ve got quite the entourage. You got a mixed tape coming out?” There's a shadowy deal going down between Ross and Klaue, with the former trading diamonds for the vibranium the latter possesses. Klaue unzips his trousers and pulls out a parcel of it through his fly to the disgust of Ross.
When Will Miracleman Return at Marvel?
For decades, fans have waited to see Neil Gaiman and artist Mark Buckingham finish the lost Miracleman storyline, “The Silver Age.” On the third day of Comic-Con, we finally got an update at Marvel's Cup O’ Joe panel.
When asked about the status of Miracleman, Marvel senior editor Nick Lowe said that Buckingham is redrawing the entire Silver Age story, and he described the pages as “Marvel meets Miyazaki.” Lowe added that he is still actively in touch with Buckingham and Gaiman, but right now Marvel is not ready to announce a release date. Several issues of The Silver Age were solicited for release last year but were later canceled.
