Rockstar Addresses Take-Two’s Decision to Shut Down GTA Modding Software OpenIV

Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games has addressed publisher Take-Two Interactive’s decision to shut down GTA modding software OpenIV.

Take-Two sent a cease-and-desist letter to the developers behind the OpenIV modding tool. Rockstar Games issued the following statement to IGN:

"Take-Two's actions were not specifically targeting single player mods. Unfortunately, OpenIV enables recent malicious mods that allow harassment of players and interfere with the GTA Online experience for everybody.  We are working to figure out how we can continue to support the creative community without negatively impacting our players."

Jack Black on How Jumanji Sequel Connects to the Original

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will connect to the original film through Robin Williams.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jack Black, who plays Professor Shelly Oberon in the new Jumanji movie, revealed that the film will pay tribute to Williams' character from the first movie, Alan Parish.

While exploring the Jungle, Oberon and Dr. Smolder Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson) discover clues left behind by Parish that'll help them on their journey. That way, Williams will still be able to play an important role in the story without being in the sequel.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Could Come to Switch

A Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Ball FighterZ is being considered, but only if there is enough demand from fans, according to Bandai Namco.

"I don't know who told you that

but this is not a question of power," producer Tomoko Hiroki told Gameblog.fr (translated by IGN). "We are not experiencing any difficulties with the Switch version of Xenoverse 2. I would say that if we carry on getting requests from fans, we will manage to create a version for Switch as well. The latter may not come out at the same time as the others, however we might consider it."

Rocket League Nintendo Switch Version Detailed

Psyonix announced Rocket League will be released for the Nintendo Switch later this year, and IGN spoke with Vice President Jeremy Dunham and Producer Bobby Garza for more details about the Switch version.

"Performance was what mattered most to us, so we aim to make sure that the game runs at 60 fps docked and undocked," Dunham explained. That effort to maintain the performance of Rocket League as it plays on other systems is in part why the game will have a native resolution of 720p.

As mentioned during the game’s announcement, Rocket League on Switch, which will be cross-network compatible with Xbox One and Steam, will have every feature all of the other versions have, including Season mode, Hoops, Drop Shot, Rumble, and Snowday. Rocket League will also take advantage of the Switch’s portability, however, allowing for local multiplayer for up to eight Switches. Psyonix will also allow for up to four players to play splitscreen when the Switch is docked and two when undocked.

Deadpool 2: Set Picture Reveals a Return to the X-Mansion

Deadpool will be returning to the X-Mansion in his film sequel.

Posting on Twitter, the Man Behind the Merc With the Mouth, Ryan Reynolds posted the image below, with a nice little callback to the first film: "Dropped by the X-Mansion. Big f**king surprise. No one's home."

We don't know a great deal about Deadpool 2's plot at this point, other than that it will feature Cable (Josh Brolin) and Domino (Zazie Beetz) and (maybe) Jack Kesy as Black Tom. It may well also tee up Deadpool and Cable's appearance in the upcoming X-Force movie.
