Halo 6 Won’t Be at E3 2017

Halo developer 343 Industries has confirmed the next mainline entry in Microsoft's sci-fi shooter series won't be at E3 2017.

In a post on reddit, 343 community manager Brian Jarrard (aka sk7ch343) tempered fans' expectations for this year's expo, saying that while the studio will have something at E3, it won't be tied to Halo 6.

"I'll slip into my Dreamcrusher persona for a minute in the name of realistic expectations: We've said this already but we'll have a little something at E3 but it's not related to the next major entry in the franchise," Jarrard said.

Alan Wake Will Be Removed from Steam Soon

Alan Wake is potentially in its last days because of expiring music licenses. To give players a chance to get the game before it’s pulled, developer Remedy announced on Twitter that Alan Wake is currently 90% off on Steam for the last 48 hours it's available.

The Alan Wake Sunset Sale, pricing Alan Wake at $3, will begin on May 13 at 10 a.m. PT and end May 15, when Alan Wake will be taken down.

Rainbow Six Siege Roadmap Revised to Fix Technical Issues

Ubisoft is making the game health of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege its top priority for the next three months, pushing back its Hong Kong-based Season Two in favor of Operation Health.

According to Ubisoft's official blog, the point of Operation Health is to build a stronger future for Rainbow Six Siege by focusing on three pillars: technological improvements, a new deployment process, and bug fix sprints.

Some specific goals include simplifying the one-step matchmaking process, higher tick rate servers with better hit registration, and more efficiently addressing community-reported bugs.

Extremely Valuable Handwritten Harry Potter Prequel Stolen

Police in the UK are asking Harry Potter fans to help track a stolen, handwritten prequel personally penned by author J.K. Rowling.

The story, which follows a run-in between Harry's father James Potter, his godfather Sirius Black, and the police, was written on an A5 postcard and comes in at around 800 words.

According to a release from the West Midlands Police Department, the story is "is extremely valuable."

The one-of-a-kind collectible postcard was originally "purchased to raise money for charity" by an investment backer for around $32,000 USD. The story was later printed in a limited edition book, selling all 10,000 copies in a single day.

Police are counting on the fandom of Harry Potter to help with any information, as they believe "the only people who will buy this unique piece are true Harry Potter fans."

Paradox Interactive Announces Surviving Mars

Surviving Mars, a new space simulation game from Tropico 5 developer Haemimont Games, has been announced.

The game's publisher, Paradox Interactive, announced the project in a post on its official website, describing it as "a sci-fi settlement builder all about colonizing Mars and surviving the process."

In Surviving Mars, players will select a space agency that will supply them with resources and funding as they establish their colony. The primary goal is to keep your colonists alive by creating an infrastructure that enables you to expand and develop your settlement.

In order to survive the planet's harsh conditions, players will need to construct space domes to house their colonists, who are individually simulated, each with their own unique set of strengths and weaknesses. You'll also need to cultivate your own food, mine for minerals, explore the planet's secrets and conduct research to make scientific advancements.
