Terminator Reboot: Word Coming This Year, Despite Rumors
Paramount will reportedly announce a Terminator reboot this year.
The Guardian reports that, despite recent rumors that the series had been shelved, there are already plans for a new entry.
“I will say we have resolved the future of the franchise and, believe me, it’s an incredibly bright future,” said David Ellison, the CEO of Skydance Media, producer of the series. "I think where it’s going will be the continuation of what the fans really wanted since T2.
“We have something this year that we will be announcing for the franchise. It’s something we’re incredibly excited about and we think is the direction it needs to head.”

Lead Designer on Mass Effect: Andromeda, Ian S. Frazier, took to Twitter last night to answer some questions from the public.
On the subject of the game's controversial facial animations, Frazier said "we're looking at patching lots of issues and want to strongly support the game moving forward. I can't say more just yet."

Disney Accused of Stealing Zootopia
Screenwriter Gary Goldman has filed a federal lawsuit against Disney for stealing his idea for its hit animated film, Zootopia.
Goldman, whose writing credits include Total Recall and Big Trouble in Little China, claims that he had pitched his version of Zootopia - which was also called Zootopia - to Disney execs twice, and both times it was rejected. Per Variety, he claims that the 2016 movie that recently won Best Animated Film at the Academy Awards ripped off its name, character designs, themes and lines of dialogue from a project he first showed the company in 2000, and a second time in 2009.
Trump Signs NASA Bill Aimed at Sending Humans to Mars, Plus Commercial Space Flights
President Trump has signed a bill aimed at assisting NASA in sending humans to Mars, with $19.5 billion in funding. NASA aims to send people to Mars by the 2030s, and congress’ funding will assist with the construction of the Space Launch System rocket, which is set to be NASA’s most powerful rocket ever, and will send astronauts farther into the solar system than ever before.
This is in line with Trump’s plan to have NASA focus on deep space exploration rather than Earth, with the bill specifically listing that NASA “should be a multi-mission space agency and should have a balanced and robust set of core missions in space science, space technology, aeronautics, human space flight and exploration, and education.”
Epic Dark Souls Solaire Statue Will Help You Praise The Sun
First 4 Figures' new Dark Souls statues are incredibly detailed, come in different varieties, and will definitely put an insta-kill on your wallet. But if you're a hardcore Souls fan, these statues will make a fine addition to your collection.
The largest, the Solaire of Astora Exclusive edition, stands just under 2 feet tall and includes LEDs in the base, as well as a Sunlight Straight Sword and Sunlight Shield. The Praise the Sun edition takes it a step further, with the statue made of a translucent orange material, with LEDs in the body letting the whole statue glow like the sun. The regular Solaire of Astora version follows the same level of quality and detail, minus the LEDs and extra accessories.
Beauty and the Beast Could Get Spin-Off or Prequel But No Sequel
Despite the live-action Beauty and the Beast breaking box office records in March, Disney isn't interested in making a sequel.
In an interview with Deadline, Disney president of production Sean Bailey said the company is open to exploring "possible spinoff and prequel scenarios" but is wary about doing a sequel due to the negative reception Alice Through the Looking Glass received. For now, Disney doesn't know exactly what story would warrant a Beauty and the Beast prequel.
Disney has a number of live-action remakes on the way and none of them are sequels. The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau is working on a live-adaptation of The Lion King, with Donald Glover set to star as Simba and James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa.
Bloodstained Coming to Nintendo Switch, Cancelled on Wii U
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is officially heading to Nintendo Switch.
But there's a sacrifice in the process. The Wii U version of Bloodstained has been cancelled with the change in Nintendo platforms.
The game's director, Koji Igarashi, discussed the Nintendo system shakeup on Kickstarter. "During our Kickstarter campaign, the Wii U was at the height of its popularity, but the situation has drastically changed after the release of Nintendo Switch," he said.
"This change made it difficult to receive the necessary support from the hardware maker, which has led us to drop the Wii U development and shift the development to Nintendo Switch."
Original Ghost in the Shell Director Has No Problem with Remake
Paramount's live-action remake of Mamoru Oshii's seminal animated film Ghost in the Shell opens in theaters next month, and IGN had the opportunity to get the director's thoughts on the upcoming adaption of his 1995 anime classic.
While the casting of Scarlett Johansson has proven to be a point of controversy among fans because she isn't Asian, Oshii doesn't see any issue with her assuming the role of the Major, and said he believes she was "the best possible" choice for the live-action adaptation.
"What issue could there possibly be with casting her?" Oshii told IGN by e-mail. "The Major is a cyborg and her physical form is an entirely assumed one. The name 'Motoko Kusanagi' and her current body are not her original name and body, so there is no basis for saying that an Asian actress must portray her. Even if her original body (presuming such a thing existed) were a Japanese one, that would still apply."
