Hearthstone’s Small-Time Buccaneer is the Nerfed Version!

Hearthstone’s newest expansion, Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, has been in the wild for well over a month now, so I figured it was a good time to catch up with senior designer Mike Donais for a chat. We covered a lot of stuff - so much, in fact, that I’ve split the interview into two parts. This piece is centred on the meta and the state of the game, while the second – much longer – piece is design-focused: creating the Jade mechanic, the thought processes behind the Reno cards, the ideas that didn't make it into the set etc. It’ll be live tomorrow.

IGN: How happy are you guys with the meta right now?

24: Legacy Star on the Advice Kiefer Sutherland Gave Him

Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton, The Walking Dead) knows he has big shoes to fill as he takes over as the lead in the 24 franchise in the new series, 24: Legacy. So when it came to getting advice, Hawkins naturally turned to none other than Jack Bauer himself, Kiefer Sutherland, who retains an executive producer credit on Legacy.

“Yes, me and Kiefer have talked,” Hawkins revealed at the Television Critics Association press tour. “We actually talked extensively. I won't say everything we talked about, but the gist of it is that he's super pumped. He was almost more pumped than I was about it! And he's really excited about this new idea and Kiefer gave me a lot of great advice in terms of going through this as an actor.”

Final Halo Wars 2 Blitz Beta Details Revealed

Players will have another chance to play Halo Wars 2 early with a beta starting later this month.

As revealed by Microsoft, this final beta will run from January 20 through January 30. Announced last August, this beta only features the new card-based game mode, Blitz, and will be playable versus other players in 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 matches on both Windows 10 PC and Xbox One.

Blitz is an entirely different and brand-new game mode in Halo Wars 2 that combines real-time strategy with collectible card game and deck building mechanics. It was built using feedback from players who don't normally play strategy games and features short, fast-paced matches that last between seven and 12 minutes.

X-Men TV Series Confirmed to Connect to Movies

The X-Men world is rapidly expanding into television these days. FX is about to launch Legion, from Fargo’s Noah Hawley – focused on Professor X’s son from the comics – while the FOX network is developing a project from Burn Notice Matt Nix, about parents going on the run with their children, when it’s discovered they’re mutants. Both of these projects mark a newfound collaboration between Fox and Marvel Television, who are joining forces for the first time to produce these series together.

Nix was at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today to discuss his new series, APB, but the press had plenty of questions about the X-Men series as well. While Nix has to keep many secrets, he also was able to reveal quite a bit about his approach, including confirming the series is intended to exist within the same universe as the X-Men films – Legion is a bit more coy on this subject – while also explaining his own personal excitement to be jumping into this world.

The Flash Led to Prison Break Coming Back

Pumped about Prison Break coming back for a new season? You have The Flash to thank for that, because if The CW's superhero series hadn't cast Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as supervillains in 2014, it probably wouldn't have happened.

"That is where Dom and I had our reunion," Miller told reporters at a Television Critics Association 2017 winter press tour panel about the show's unlikely revival. "We hadn't seen each other for about five years and suddenly we're back on set talking about old times and out of that conversation came the possibility of revisiting Prison Break."

Check out the new trailer for Prison Break:

Peter Dinklage Up for Role in Avengers: Infinity War

Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, is reportedly up for a role in Avengers: Infinity War.

Variety reports that Dinklage is in talks to join the upcoming Marvel film's cast, though there isn't any information about what character the actor would play if he does. The seventh season of Game of Thrones recently wrapped production, and the show's move from a summer to fall shoot has allowed Dinklage to potentially star in Infinity War, which is set to begin shooting this summer in Scotland. The next two Avengers movies will be filmed back-to-back and Dinklage is expected to appear in both, according to Variety.
