Pokemon Go May Add a Popular Feature from Main Games
Dataminers have discovered a host of new features coming to Pokemon Go secreted amongst the codebase of its newest update..
Some pertain to the addition of new Pokemon we expect to be announced next week, while others add features familiar to players of the main game series.
But for fear of spoilers, I'll give you one last chance to turn back from whence you came.
The good people at The Silph Road (who originally discovered the expected addition of Gold/Silver-era Pokemon to the mobile sensation) have looked into the Android v0.49.1 update, and found evidence of several incoming new features:
Bully: Anniversary Edition Now Available on iOS and Android
Bully: Anniversary Edition is now available on Android and iOS devices.
Available for $6.99 (£4.99), the mobile version of Bully comes 10 years after the original version launched on the PlayStation 2, touted as the "best looking and performing version of the game to date" according to Rockstar Games. The Anniversary Edition features the Bully: Scholarship Edition of the game, which included extra content on top of the base game, as well as improved visuals, controls redesigned for touch displays, and a new multiplayer feature called Friend Challenges.
Friend Challenges are classroom mini-games where players compete against one another in tasks including frog dissection, English class word problems, assisting a flying squirrel in vanquishing his foes with acorns, and more.
Nintendo Shows Zelda: Breath of the Wild Running on Switch
In a guest appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Nintendo president Reggie Fils-aime surprised the late night host with a chance to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild running on Nintendo Switch.
During the presentation, Fils-aime showed off the hardware’s ability to go from TV to handheld before handing it to Fallon. Skip to around 4:55 of the video above to watch the segment.
This was the first public demo of Zelda: Breath of the Wild running on Nintendo’s new gaming device since it was unveiled in October. The company said it would provide more detail about the system’s features, launch lineup, and more during a special livestream presentation on January 12.
Depp Once Again Tops Most Overpaid Actors List
Johnny Depp has topped Forbes' list of Hollywood's most overpaid actors for the second year in a row.
The actor, who starred in Disney's big summer flop Alice Through the Looking Glass, returned $2.80 for each $1 he was paid, according to Forbes' Top 10 list.
Forbes compiled their list of the 10 most overpaid actors by analyzing the last three major live-action films (released on at least 2,000 screens) prior to June 2016, calculated the operating income of said films and then divided that by the actor's salary for those films to calculate the final return on investment.
Westworld: All the Hints at the Man in Black Reveal
Full spoilers for Westworld continue below. Read on at your own risk.
The Man in Black was always going to be a key player in Westworld, but the Season 1 finale, confirmed he’s actually two key players when we learned definitively William and the Man in Black are the same person. Westworld had been foreshadowing the reveal since the beginning, and the clues were there for those willing to look.
They started in the premiere, though we didn’t know it at the time. The Man in Black has a history with Dolores, and when we meet William in episode 2, he and Dolores have the same meet-cute that the Man in Black had with her in the premiere. That’s when viewers started picking up on the parallels and questioning whether these storylines were actually taking place at the same time.
Possible Rogue One/Star Wars Rebels Connection Revealed
A new TV spot for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story released recently, and it might contain an Easter egg that would connect the film to Star Wars Rebels.
The TV spot is only around 15 seconds long, but at the :07 second mark there's a very brief shot of several space ships. As ComingSoon points out, there's speculation that one of these ships is Ghost from the Rebels TV show. Both ships have similar physical features and builds.
The potential sighting of Ghost, from ComingSoon.
10 Big Missing Games of PSX 2016
Last weekend's PlayStation Experience was a big show for Sony fans. We got confirmation of long-rumored projects like The Last of Us Part II and Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, plus surprises like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and even Knack 2.
But even with a solid lineup of announcements, a few major games sat out this year's show. Some of these were just announced a few months back at Sony's whirlwind E3 2016 press conference, but others have been absent for years.
Star Wars Battlefront’s VR Mission Might Be My Favorite PSVR Experience
Star Wars Battlefront has seen a steady trickle of new content since it launched last year, spanning classic characters and planets from the original Star Wars trilogy, Jakku from the Force Awakens, and recently, Rogue One’s Scarif DLC. With the new Rogue One VR Mission, however, Battlefront might have some of its coolest post-release content yet.
Before now, experiences like PlayStation World’s Ocean’s Descent and Batman: Arkham VR were my default games to show uninitiated players how cool PlayStation VR can be. With the Rogue One VR mission, I have my new go-to. If you grew up with Star Wars and have always wondered what it’d be like to pilot an X-Wing through an asteroid field, take down waves of TIE fighters, and go head to head with a massive Imperial Star Destroyer, Rogue One VR is probably the closest you’ll be able to get right now.
New DuckTales Series Gets a (Brief) Teaser and Summer Slot
DisneyXD's new DuckTales animated series now has a release window and a new, but brief, teaser to go along with the announcement.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the series will make its debut on DisneyXD sometime next summer, in 2017. The teaser, which lasts only 15 seconds, gives a good look at the series' logo and a quick snippet of the theme song.
Disney first announced it would be rebooting the series last year. The new show is set to feature most of the classic characters, including Scrooge McDuck and his grandnephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, plus plenty of other fan-favorites: Duckworth, Magica De Spell, Launchpad McQuack, and Flintheart Glomgold.
