The Division Surprise-Reveals Its New Survival Expansion
The Division's upcoming Survival expansion will feature a new game mode that turns the shooter into a multiplayer survival game.
The optional mode, which was revealed during a developer livestream today, via Kotaku, will take place on the same full map as the base game, but with a twist. A blizzard has covered the city and Division agents need to reach the center of Manhattan to retrieve vital antiviral drugs.
The helicopter carrying the agents crashes, though, and up to 24 players are scattered around the map with the goal of reaching the center before succumbing to death from extreme conditions. Starting with only low-level gear, a pistol, and no skills, players will have to manage hunger, sickness, cold, and dehydration systems to survive.

Hearthstone: Mean Streets of Gadgetzan Card Reveal
The new Hearthstone expansion, Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, was announced at BlizzCon a few days ago, and as you’d expect, it’s destined to really shake up the meta. Not only will it inject 132 new cards into the game, but it’s also introducing tri-class cards, which is obviously a HUGE deal for the game. In keeping with the shady, underworld theme of the set, the class groups are set up as gangs. They are: the Grimy Goons, an alliance of Hunters, Paladins and Warriors; Jade Lotus, comprised of Druids, Rogues and Shamans; and The Kabal, mana-obsessed Mages, Priest and Warlocks.
Doctor Strange Intentionally Subverts a Big Marvel Trope
Doctor Strange bears a lot of similarities to many of Marvel's origin movies, but director Scott Derrickson put an interesting twist on the Marvel formula with the ending of the film subverting a big MCU trope that has been a point of criticism in recent years.
Full spoilers for Doctor Strange continue below, so don't read on if you haven't seen the film yet.
If you look at the climaxes of most Marvel Cinematic Universe films -- and superhero films in general -- usually the crisis the titular heroes are trying to prevent is some city-destroying, world-ending calamity. From the Chitauri invading New York in The Avengers to Ronan and his fanatical Kree trying to destroy Xandar in the Guardians of the Galaxy, there's usually a lot of mass destruction wrapping up these films.
