Dune: Warcraft Producers Land Movie Rights
Warcraft producer Legendary Pictures has acquired the rights to Frank Herbert’s best-selling sci-fi novel, Dune.
According to Variety, the production company was able to get the rights from Herbert’s estate. The agreement allows Legendary Pictures to develop both film and TV projects, and will be produced by Cale Boyter, Thomas Tull, and Mary Parent.
Dune is set in the distant future where a desert planet, Arrakis, is the sole producer of a valuable resource sought after by noble families. The story explores political and religious themes, and follows protagonist Paul Atreides and his quest to restore his family’s control of the desert planet.

Skyrim director Todd Howard says he's a big fan of Nintendo Switch and all but confirmed his fantasy RPG for the hybrid console.
Speaking with Glixel, Howard mentioned that he actually got his hands on the Nintendo Switch. "I love it. I got to play it," he said. "... One of the best demos I've ever seen. Probably the best demo I've ever seen. At E3."

Angela Bassett Joins Marvel’s Black Panther
Academy Award nominee and American Horror Story star Angela Bassett has joined the cast of Marvel's upcoming Black Panther movie.
Bassett will take on the role of Ramonda, mother of T'Challa, Marvel announced.
This isn't Bassett's first comic-movie role, as she also starred in Green Lantern as the first live-action portrayal of Amanda Waller.
The news is the latest in a slow-trickle of casting stories, as the film adds more star power to its roster. In October, Forest Whitaker joined the Black Panther cast as elder statesman Zuri.
Everything You Need to Know About Grindelwald
Voldemort isn't the only notorious dark wizard in J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World. Before He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, there was Gellert Grindelwald, and the new Harry Potter series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is going to explore his story even more.
Full spoilers for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them continue below.
Johnny Depp's take on the character made his debut in the first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film. The movie opened with a look at some of the dark wizard's recent offenses in Europe, and closed with the reveal that he'd been hiding out in New York under the guise of auror Percival Graves (Colin Farrell). While the movie didn't get deep into his motivations, it did introduce him as a primary antagonist and someone whose main goal is to have the wizarding community come out into the open and be dominant over the non-magic community.
The Inhumans: Part of the Show Set on the Moon
Marvel's The Inhumans will take us to the moon.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, there will be action sequences in the show on the Earth's satellite, which has often served as the home for the Inhumans in the comics. These scenes will be shot with IMAX cameras, even after the two-episode premiere movie.
It's an important distinction because previously it was thought the whole Inhumans series would be shot in IMAX. That doesn't appear to be the case.
In addition, ABC will add content to the broadcast premiere for The Inhumans. The Marvel series is set to launch in September 2017 in IMAX, as the theater company got the idea after enjoying a $2 million success story with Game of Thrones.

Pokemon Go Gets Combat Power Changes
Alakazam, Rhydon and Gengar are getting a boost to their combat power in Pokemon Go.
Developer Niantic has announced CP adjustments for creatures in the smartphone app, according to Pokemon Go's official website. But the team is vague about which ones will see alterations (including decreases), only highlighting the increases for the aforementioned Pokemon.
"These changes will allow a more balanced and competitive battling and training experience in Gyms," says the Pokemon Go blog post. "We will continue to adjust the CP going forward to improve the game balance when necessary."
Pokemon Go players also will see bonuses this month as a thank you from Niantic. From November 23 to 30, the mobile game will offer double experience and Stardust.
