New Iceman Comic Book Slides in for Spring 2017

A new comic book series for founding X-Men member Iceman was revealed via a teaser image from Marvel Comics.

The teaser shows fractured images from throughout Iceman’s history and a release date of Spring 2017. No creative team was listed.

Iceman made headlines last year when he came out as gay after Jean Grey read his mind in an issue of All-New X-Men by Brian Michael Bendis and Kris Anka. This was a younger version of Iceman who time-traveled to the present, and after confronting his older self about it, he was able to come to grips with his sexuality, too. It’s unclear if this new comic series will star the past version currently featured in All-New X-Men, the present version in Extraordinary X-Men, or both. We’ll sadly admit there’s probably no chance it will feature his future self known as Ice Wizard.

Tom Holland Discusses Whether Spider-Man Could Appear in Future Avengers Movies

Spider-Man: Homecoming won't be released into theaters until next year, but the actor behind Spidey's mask is already discussing Peter Parker's future in more solo films and as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking to Variety, Tom Holland addressed whether Spider-Man would be appearing again alongside other MCU heroes in Avengers: Infinity War after his debut in Captain America: Civil War earlier this year.

"It’s all up in the air," Holland said of a possible role in upcoming Avengers films. "I believe some sort of deal is in the mix, but I’m unclear as to what that deal is."

This Gears of War 4 Lancer Replica Is Bloody and Awesome

Videogame accessory company PDP has made the first Gears of War 4 replica weapon, which is an officially licensed Customized Lancer.

Check out the gallery below for more information and impressions, as well as some nice close-up shots. Click right to see them all:

In case you missed any of that, it's a 1:1 scale replica of Marcus Fenix's weapon in Gears of War 4, modeled off of in-game files. It has an adjustable sight, levers, switches and triggers, as well as a fully functional, removable flashlight. The weapon itself lights up with blue CoG-style LEDs, and takes 4x C batteries.

It should be mentioned that this prop replica doesn't make any noise and, of course, the chainsaw doesn't move, plus it features an orange tip so it's obvious it's not a real weapon - at least you won't get stopped at security!

Netflix More Popular Than YouTube, Cable TV Among Teens

YouTube is now a more popular video service among teenagers than cable TV is, according to a new report, but Netflix still reigns supreme overall.

Investment bank and management assessment firm Piper Jaffray has released its semi-annual report surveying teenagers, pulling the viewing habits from a sample pool of 10,000 teens. Netflix snagged the top spot among video consumption options, with 37 percent of teens saying they watch it daily. Netflix ranks above YouTube and cable TV, with YouTube surpassing cable TV by just one percent (the two options came in at 26 and 25 percent, respectively).

Thor: Ragnarok Director ‘Made an Effort to Ignore’ Thor Films

If Taika Waititi is to be believed, his upcoming Marvel film Thor: Ragnarok is going to be the most bonkers movie in the MCU.

The director took to Reddit to answer an AMA, and amid the snark and questions about whether Anthony Hopkins will have any shirtless scenes ("MAYBE," Waititi teased) he offered a good sense of how this Thor movie will differ from the ones that came before.

"I think TR will be one of the most adventurous and most 'out there' of all the marvel movies. It's a crazy movie," he answered to one Redditor, adding to another, "The tone is very different. Think CRAZY."

GTA Parent Company Files Trademarks for Ghost Story

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K Games, has filed several trademarks for a multimedia property currently called Ghost Story.

The company filed five trademarks on October 6 via the United States Patent and Trademark Office, ranging from video games, television series, clothing, and "other multimedia materials." No further information was provided about what the property might entail.

It's worth noting, however, that this isn't necessarily indicative of an unannounced game or property on the horizon. Companies sometimes file trademarks in the event they may need the name down the line or to keep others from filing the same trademark. As GameSpot points out, Take-Two also has trademarks for "Judas" and "GTA TV," despite the company never having used either so far.

Call of Duty Created as ‘A Little Bit’ of an F-You to Medal of Honor

Respawn co-founder and Call of Duty creator Vince Zampella recently talked with IGN to discuss the formation of Infinity Ward and the birth of Activision's wildly popular military FPS franchise, revealing that Call of Duty was created, in part, as a jab at EA and Medal of Honor, which Zampella had worked on at 2015 Inc.

On the latest episode of our monthly interview show IGN Unfiltered, we asked Zampella about where the idea for Call of Duty came from and whether or not it was an "f-you" to Medal of Honor, to which we responded by saying, "a little bit."

Zampella then went on to discuss how–following the success of their work on Medal of Honor: Allied Assault–Electronic Arts wanted to take ownership of the studio, something he and his team pushed back against. "Originally when we formed Infinity Ward we were working with EA. We had a deal to do the sequel to Medal of Honor," he explained. "Allied Assault did so well that EA wanted to pull it in house, so they tried to force us to come be part of EA. We didn't want to do that."
