Supergirl: See Martian Manhunter Meet Miss Martian
On Supergirl, J'onn J'onzz (David Harewood) has thought of himself as the last survivor of his people, but some big surprises may be in store for Martian Manhunter in the next episode.
Sharon Leal makes her first appearance in the next episode none other than DC Comics' Miss Martian and in IGN's exclusive new clip, J'onn meets Leal's character for the first time, only for her to strike him as quite familiar - although she looks decidedly human at the time. Of course, she is working at a bar for frequented by refugee aliens, so it's likely her true nature will be revealed soon enough...
Supergirl: "Welcome to Earth" airs Monday, October 24th on the CW.

New to Netflix for November
November looks to be a monumentally busy month for Netflix as their original programming just keeps flooding in. Not only is there the Gilmore Girls revival, but period drama The Crown as well.
And those are just the most notable Netflix Originals - there are so many more. Roman Empire: Reign of Blood? Tales by Light? The Ivory Game? Mercy? Almost half of this list is comprised of Netflix's own movie and series programming.
As for the other half, The 100: Season 3 arrives, along with movies like Boyhood, Ravenous, Paddington, Burn After Reading, The African Queen, Cujo, The Doors and more.
Titles and dates are for US only and subject to change.
Amazon, Reddit, Netflix and More Suffer Outages
If you had trouble this morning accessing some of your favorite websites, it's not just you. A dedicated denial of service attack has taken out many of the internet's most popular sites.
Among the affected websites are Amazon, Netflix, Twitter, and Reddit. Services such as Sony's PlayStation Network are also under attack.
Internet infrastructure company DynDNS reports on its company Twitter account it's currently dealing with the attacks, and updates can be seen on its status page. However, Dyn's page is also down.
CNN reports the attacks began this morning and mainly affected the east coast of the United States. As of yet, no responsibility has been claimed for the attacks, but an official told CNN the US government "looking at all possible scenarios including possible cyber activity."
Opinion: DC’s Bane Is Ready for a Rebirth
Batman has what might be the most iconic rogues gallery in superhero comics, if not all of pop culture. Villains like Joker, Two-Face and Catwoman are a huge reason the Batman franchise has remained so popular over the decades. It's not easy for newer characters to earn a membership in that elite club, but Bane destroyed all barriers as easily as he snapped Batman's spine. The massive Knightfall crossover cemented Bane's status as one of the great Batman villains. So why is he so rarely treated with the respect he deserves?
Personally, I have a strong attachment to Bane, as Knightfall was all the rage when I was first dipping my toes into the waters of monthly superhero comics. Here was a villain who looked terrifying and imposing on every page. Here was a man who managed to do what even Joker couldn't - defeat Batman and leave him physically and psychologically shattered. And even as the impact of Knightfall receded and Bruce Wayne reclaimed his mantle, Bane was a villain I eagerly followed in subsequent comic book appearances, his Batman: The Animated Series debut and his sorry showing in 1997's Batman & Robin.
Titanfall 2 Multiplayer: Bigger… and Better?
Like the original, the duality of switching between Titanfall 2’s nimble pilots and monstrous titans is at the heart of what makes its multiplayer great. The sequel’s additions and changes, while significant, do little to distract from this brilliant gameplay loop. The pilot's ability to effortlessly traverse terrain is still remarkably fluid when the map allows for it, and titans feel like a more permanent investment thanks to rodeo changes and the advent of batteries.
Titan loadouts as they existed in the original have been scrapped in favor of six unique archetypes, each with a charismatic and thematically appropriate designation. Scorch launches thermite, Ronin wields a flashy sword, and Ion evaporates enemies with a giant laser erupting from its chest. This change may seem like a step backwards where customization is concerned, but the ability to identify an enemy titan’s capabilities at a glance is well worth the sacrifice. Increased readability is present on foot too, as each pilot’s character model is directly linked to their tactical ability. A pilot draped an exotic fur for instance has the capability to cloak.
A Look at VR From the ’80s, ’90s, and Through Today
While Oculus, Samsung, and Sony are busy getting all the headlines about virtual reality headsets, the old timers among us are leaning back, arms folded, saying, "Mmm hmm." That's because they've seen it all before. In the early 1990s, technology firms, especially video game companies, fell over themselves in a rush to capitalize on VR Buzz 1.0 by announcing (and in a few cases releasing) their very own virtual reality headset hardware.
That buzz was generated by truly pioneering work in VR at places like NASA and a few major universities during the 1980s. But despite the quality of their work (and the almost adorable sincerity of the commercial VR products that followed), it didn't keep people from looking fairly ridiculous while using this nascent technology, especially when posed for press photos. So that's what you're going to see ahead: people looking silly using VR a long time ago.
This Groot Cosplay Is So Realistic It’s Almost Scary
A Guardians of the Galaxy 2 teaser was posted earlier this week, and it seems like fans are pretty damn excited.
With a new movie comes new cosplays, so we decided to share one of our favorite, full-sized Groot cosplayers, HurleyFX.
HurleyFX, or Lee, is known for making incredibly detailed sculpts, and his Groot is nothing short of amazing - click right to see all the images:

IGN UK Podcast #354: The One Where No One Mentions Nintendo Switch or Red Dead
Monday seems a very long time ago now. Nintendo Switch had a different name, we were only guessing that Red Dead 2 existed, and IGN LA's Terri Schwartz chose to spend some of her holidays in our office for no discernible reason and we wanted to record a podcast with her.
Basically, all of this is an excuse for why this four day-old episode seems very out-of-date. Forget all that brand new stuff, let's talk about The Crystal Maze and Miles Teller's gusset, then play Keyword Countdown. Oh, and one of you makes us look really clever with your feedback - thanks for that.
